Hi everybody!

I live in Glendale CA which makes the Burbank Glendale Pasadena airport my home airport in MSFS 2024. I’ve been in 2024 since launch. Every time I enter the world map to spawn in for takeoff on runway 15, I’m placed instead, on runway 26.

Is this happening for anyone else? It doesn’t matter the aircraft.

Zoom in on the airport until it shows you the various parking/starting spots available and select the one you want.

Thanks for your response. I do zoom in on runway 15 until I see the little circle, click on it, whereby it inserts that I have selected 15, then places me on 8 when I spawn.

KBUR is my local airport in MSFS too. And yes I’ve noticed the same exact thing. I’ll start a flight from the world map at the active runway, and it loads at a totally different runway. I’ve noticed this at a handful of other airports too.

Enable "ATC Enforce Flight Plan": Go to Options > Assistance Options > ATC and set "ATC Enforce Flight Plan" to ON. This forces the simulator to honor your chosen starting position instead of defaulting to the runway in use based on wind.

I've noticed this happen at one or two airports and have no idea why.  It always seemed to happen at Laguardia for some reason, though it recently seems to have stopped (maybe a deveoper update at some point?)

There is a new KBUR for MS2024 in MS Marketplace released on April 9. Has both the old and new terminals in it.

Check the wind direction. I noticed that if the wind is wrong for a particular runway in MSFS 2024, it will switch you to the opposite end (or a different runway). Slightly annoying, particularly when I am at a small airport where I park my PMDG 737 at the end of a side runway (because there are no parking spots large enough for it).

I will give all these a try when I’m next in the sim. I learned a lot here with regards to wind an runway placement, and I’m looking forward to looking at KBUR in the market!

Donet….THANKS so much! I made the change to ATC and I’m sitting on runway 15, ready for takeoff!

I spotted that. By a developer called Beautiful Model of the World who have done other airports in the past.

Question is, are their airports any good? I only ask this because the Marketplace has loads of rubbish available. The majority of new releases every week are absolutely shocking.

Is there any feedback yet on the Beautiful Model of the World Hollywood Burbank KBUR? It's priced pretty good and includes the new terminal. The Orbx KBUR is pretty outdated. I only found one user showcasing it on an xbox. 

I’m waiting for the same. It looks so good, but that could mean stuttery approach. Creator Hippo made a good freeware KBUR for 2020.

BMW World KBUR is a BIG upgrade compared to the outdated 2020 ORBX version. I worked at BUR for 6+ years and lived in Burbank the majority of my childhood. I just finished going through the scenery taking some screenshots of things that are missing/needs to be fixed so I can send over to the devs. For a scenery that came out of nowhere I'll gladly take this much needed rendition! Thanks BMW World! NOW.....someone PLEASE do VNY! LOL
