April 14Apr 14 Does anyone know what this addon will cost for MSFS 2024? Loved the old MilViz F4 series. This looks like it would be a fine addition to the hangar! You almost want to buy the promo and watch it over and over. Their product quality matches or exceeds the hype in their promos. Just learned of this product a few days ago from a friend who happens to be an encyclopedia on the F-4 Phantom. I was waiting for the Rafale by AP, but will likely go for this one. Somehow I predict not too much siesta and more urgency when it hits the market! Cheers! It is an utter masterpiece in DCS. 😎 And tho I hate to say it, it even eclipses my beloved DCS Tomcat due to its newer architecture (the addon, not the jet! 😉). At some point, HB are supposed to back-port the Anvil code to the DCS Tomcat, and that will just be icing on the cake! Im truly hoping that they’re able to bring the DCS Phantom physics to MSFS - it will be a remarkable experience! So many cool aerodynamic idiosyncrasies with which to play, and it’s even “fully IFR” capable (no idea if they’re going to Velcro on a GPS, but that’d be a nice touch for MSFS). Might just have to survive with INS & radio nav, tho 😎👍 eta: That AP Rafale should be an easily justifiable purchase, in any case. It’s a Dead Sexy airframe, and AzurPoly is highly focused on fidelity. they’ve also got to make Dassault themselves satisfied, plus the other Hi Fi advisors/co-developers 👍 Edited April 14Apr 14 by UrgentSiesta

Anything in particular that sticks out with Falcon BMS for you? Main positive is the depth of the simulated F-16, and there are multiple variants available rather than the single in DCS. Next is the Dynamic Campaign, which is largely unequaled even 3 decades after release (!). A host of other things are improved over DCS, too. In fact I think most of the complaints about DCS are driven by Falcon! The downsides are, only the Falcon is deeply simulated (tho the F-15 is well done). And the graphics, even the vastly improved recent release, are FSX quality at best. BUT the entire allure of Falcon BMS is the tactical immersion. The graphics fade quickly given the scenarios presented. 🤙

That’s a great question. The only “for sure” answer is: somewhere between the $35 of the IFT Tomcat and the $80 of the DCS Phantom. IIRC, the excellent MilViz Phantoms were also $70-$80 back in the day, right…? The MSFS market for non-airliners is notoriously cheap (yeah, I said it 😎!). And there is a well deserved reputation for .mil addons generally being mid-grade in fidelity and/or physics. AND .mil addons seem to be a niche in MSFS as even those interested skip them due to lack of combat (a reluctance that entirely escapes me!). so, TL,DR: seeing that most decent .mil addons are $30 and up, and the JF Hawk has been $50 for as long as I can remember… And considering the overall aircraft systems and the potential addon level of fidelity… And we KNOW it’s going to be stunningly 3D modeled… So, I think they could get away with $50 - IF they deliver at the level of the JF Hawk, A2A, and Black Square. It is in effect a remarkable total war simulation with a combat flightsim bolted onto it. The F16 is nice too. There's a reason nothing much like it has been made since. It's development was a major factor in Micropose going belly up. Succeeding developers took note of this and improving Internet speeds and net code allowed them to push online multiplayer as an alternative, less expensive on dev time feature. Unsurprisingly, large swathes of the CFS audience grew tired of having their backsides repeatedly handed to them on a plate online and still crave a truly dynamic campaign a 'la BMS...
April 14Apr 14 I’m sure I used to have a falcon special edition that came with a really nice thick A5 ring binder manual with all the avionics instructions. I’ve not been able to find it for years, it probably got lost moving house or something. 787 captain. FACTS, brother! Well said and I can’t disagree at all. 😁👍

Has a ton of military aircraft with great modelling and system details as well as killing stuff! DCS would seem to be the best sim for military operations. Started messing with it today. Not sure about the campaigns/maps in BMS, but I know the older ones have to be rebuilt from the ground up for the new scenery files, so whatever they have given us is going to have to work for now. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

Nah - the people who care about the F-4 and related simulation are having a good time talking. I’ll leave it as it is. Hopefully some of that’ll rub off on you if you choose to stick around. 🤙
