April 20Apr 20 Tell me if you got it... Is it worth the price? Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
April 20Apr 20 IMHO yes. But referencing price I did buy it on sale last Christmas. The entire package. Both the 767 and 757 by FF are cool planes. I haven’t bought the T7 yet because the long haul mission is not my forte. A leap ahead feature like Tollis and FSL have would be the deciding factor. There are plenty of real world routes under a couple of hours in 757s and 767s. Vic green
April 21Apr 21 It flies mostly fine, FBW is really responsive and FPS is higher than 757/767 surprisingly Made 4 flights all hard landing because the RA shows +6 when touchdown... hope they would fix that soon. I didn't have data for -200, but for -300ER, cross check with realworld take off performance, the N1 given in FF's FMS is much higher, up to 10% in high ATM. And still, the biggest problem is, like -200, ECL system still a mess, not really suitable for a "training" scenario, despite the advertisement of "over 1000+ failures", that makes me feel it really not worth the price as a good A-B liner (which IMO should be at most 60~70 range.) I got -200 basepack though it would be great but really not, so I didn't bother EE or F, got $30 -300ER upgrade because I have more realworld data on this type, but still... meh, still good one to keep in hanger for line operation every now and then.
April 21Apr 21 I own all the options of the FF 777. Just finished a world tour (long winded non direct route) in the 200/300. Haven't had the patience to do that for over 5 years in any other sim /addon. The pros smash the cons into outer space. I've owned the PMDG triples in 3 other sims. I could never go back. From the moment you start rolling it FEELS right. Before I report any bugs need go through the fcom with a fine comb to make sure it's not intended behaviour. One issue I might have found is LOC intercept on ILS approaches. Sometimes the plane on 45 degree intercept will turn a full 360 degrees clockwise or anticlockwise before it intercepts. Very weird to me. Also switching from SPD /FLCH back to VNAV when below FMC profile the plane will descend below profile unless you level it off manually. I believe it is supposed to obey the altitude limits unless you override with MCP altitude intervention (knob press). There is so much to love about this addon whatever issues you may find will not for one second give you buyers remorce. You can feel the love the devs have for their product and this always influences my buying decisions. Russell Gough SE London
April 21Apr 21 @jcomm i have the FF 757 with all the expansion packs And the FF A320 Ultimate from way back. And even the A350 from way, way back 😉 So it’s safe to say I’m a fan of FF. 😎 Ive put that thing in my shopping cart quite a few times, but somehow I never actually buy it. I have faith that all the reports about it being a GREAT addon that’s their best product to date are accurate. 🤙 But, ultimately, it’s “just another Boeing”. Same reason I never got their 76 Id say if someone wanted to really commit to just a single airframe or two, then sure… But for me, I have “too many” Boeings (and others) already, spread across three sims, and the 777 is just more of the same, except that it’s so big its airports are limited, and I’ve utterly zero desire to cruise at 30k for anything longer than an hour. It’s a fine addon, but there’s just not enough differentiation from what I already have to justify spending another $90. And just to be completely transparent, I feel this way about airliners in general, unless they offer something different and challenging (like the JF BAe 146, et al). 🤷♂️
April 21Apr 21 To me, it's the most immersive aircraft in any sim barring CL650... Blows PMDG away. My biggest issues are: 1) No Wind Uplink. Have to manually enter those and it's tedious. But they said they will have that in the future. 2) Service vehicles literally drop out of the sky. Zibo has them pulling up, which is much nicer. 3) The BAD text-to-speech voices for the crew. But FF outdid themselves on this one. Highly recommended. One of my best purchases. I only have the -200ER but planning to purchase all the engine options and the -300ER this weekend. Support XP12 developers! If people don't buy great new releases, we won't have people developing for XP. Really looking forward to AirFoil Labs 737 MAX and the Nimbus 707.
April 21Apr 21 Speaking of updates updating FF aircraft with the x-updater-win is a B. Can't seem to get my feeble mind around getting the updater to work. I just end up reinstalling the aircraft to update. There's an update now for the 737-400ER. Edited April 21Apr 21 by Patco Lch Vic green

I just run it, put in license numbers and then it works. What's the issue?

Well, sometimes it places the updates under new folders, that weren't those where the aircraft was originally installed(?) At least I recall having had to deal with such situations, and I wouldn't know if I should delete the older folder ... April 22Apr 22 I have both the 757 and 767 which i love, i am tempted with the 777 but am unsure if 8GB of Vram will be enough (RTX 2080). I just use default airports as i'm impressed with them and fly in 1080P resolution. My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/Dkentflyer

But at least it’s never hosed an install for me across 3 different addons! 😁
