Love it.The secret truth is that there's many people out there in the world that still use different versions of P3D and even older legacy simulators, like FSX and even FS9 still. The reason forums for legacy sims are not as active as forums for newer sims is because the legacy sim users are not nearly as loud and noisy as people that use newer sims. There's plenty of people that still quietly use older flight simulators. There's plenty of reasons people still use older sims, for just a few examples; because they have older or lower end hardware that cannot run MSFS 2024 or X-Plane 12. If you think about it, the majority of PC/laptop users either just do not own or cannot afford higher end gaming rigs. Or they don't have access to high-speed internet that is required for streaming in sims like MSFS 2020 & 2024. And some people are just happy with what they have, they know what they want and don't feel the need to invest in a brand-new simulator just because there is a new one. Older sims also have much larger libraries of content available for them (add-ons) on the internet than newer sims. These are just a few reasons, I'm sure there's many more. May 26May 26 As a Concorde flier - I noticed there seemed to be virtually no sceneries available for GOOY (the old Dakar airport). Maybe a bit of a more niche one and there is a FSDG Lite scenery for GOBD providing an alternative, so not necessarily a one for the top of the list but perhaps one that would be nice to have a 'better than default' option for. There are a few other airports in more far-out places on the earth that occasionally get visited on cargo flights (Almaty, Bishkek etc.) that don't seem to have much more to offer than ones merely altering the default scenery (which I personally can't stand).Otherwise, there are plenty of third-party sceneries (some of which requiring various amounts of TLC to get working properly), though the big issue will be the tendency for these to get increasingly out of date as the real life airports develop. May 26May 26 Commercial Member While I commend you on your effort to add new "life" to the sim, I think developers would need to produce more out of labor of luv rather than expect good returns on their products. I would be surprised if one could even sell 100 copies of an airport these days. I would luv to be proven wrong as even I have thought about releasing photoreal scenery for the retail sector. I used to do some scenery development work, so I've been considering trying to start a new P3D project to still provide some development for this sim. The main question I want to ask is --------What airports do not yet have quality or currently accurate scenery for P3D that you would like to see brought to the simulator?I am in no way am committing to developing anything, especially since I am sure development tools have changed since I last played around with them, I am more so just curious to see what the community feels should be developed.I look forward to hearing your thoughts! There’s no airports for Hawaii other than some really old FSX stuff.I could think of plenty others, but I like flying in HI since it’s got 7 wide body capable airfields all within 300 miles. Plus a couple of dozen munis and dirt strips. Also, of course, it’s a gorgeous place to fly, with plenty of windy but still sunny weather 😎

Military bases seem to be the underserved market for sceneries.Always fun to be flying the troops home for leave.I went looking awhile back and never found anything good for P3D v4+Only a few joint use airfields like Palma de Mallorca, etc.As I mentioned above, there isn’t even a Honolulu Intl scenery, and there’s each as much military AND heavy cargo square footage there as civilian. Literally every type of mil airframe is/was either based there or transits.747’s, MD’s, - the lot…Plus plenty of foreign military transports and tactical aircraft, as well. They are old, but so are most P3D compatible add-ons. The two Hawaii packages gives you a total of 4 airports: simMarket: Flight Simulation Add-Ons - MSFS, P3D, FSX, XPLANEThen there's the Hawaii Complete freeware package by Flight Sim Jewels that includes high quality photoscenery, mesh and custom autogen, as well as many airports that cover all of the Hawaiian Islands (you can just install the airports package if you don't want the rest of the scenery). The airports are not quite as nice as the FSDreamteam airports, but they are all fully custom renditions made to look like the real airports and there's a lot more than 4. It's much better than default.Hawaii Complete Photoreal & Airports Scenery for FSX & P3D Specs: MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon board, Ryzen 5800X CPU, 3600Mhz Corsair RAM, Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6900 XT GPU Favorite Sims: FSX:SE, P3Dv5.4, X-Plane 11 & 12

I know that the majority of P3Dv4/v5 compatible airports are just FS9/FSX airports with compatibility updates and they do not have P3Dv4/v5 specific features like PBR and dynamic lighting, etc. If someone were to create Hawaiian airports that are up to P3Dv4/v5 standards, I would definitely buy them. Like you, I really enjoy flying around Hawaii. May 29May 29 I agree with "monkey wings" KPBI was only sketched from an already old version of the airport. Yes most airports change but this version is a 2010 version.

For me, it will be a slow process though, because I live a pretty busy life outside of my computer as well, but I am learning little by little.I wish both you and @Vapor the best of luck. June 1Jun 1 Been really pleasing to see some continuing interest, few more threads popping up lately.Re scenery, I'm no modeller but I have been doing a bunch of photoreal and AFCAD tweak sets for various smaller regional airports lately, esp. in the USA. Have done this for places like Spokane KGEG, Boise KBOI, Laredo KLRD, Brownsville KBRO, Muscle Shoals KMSL, Dodge City KDDC, Wichita KICT, Lexington KLEX etc. and mostly to work-above/blend-with either Orbx Global or Fernando's FCScenerys photoreal/auto-gen packs. Have typically done them where there's a decent AFCAD or freeware airport available and then edited the AFCAD to hide runway and taxiways and let the custom photoreal show through where its available at a decent level of detail, and add a few library objects here and there. Yes, I wouldn't need to do this if I moved to MSFS 202x but for now I'm sticking w P3D.If there's any interest might fire up a separate thread or website and work out a way to share them? If I've edited an existing AFCAD I'll need to seek permission from the original author before releasing that, the photoreal will work OK without it although certain placements and taxiways wont line up properly without the moded AFCAD.
