Career Addon

Featured Replies

I’m looking for a career addon that lets me fly real world airline routes (both short haul and long haul) using any airplane I want.

So for instance I’d like to fly for FedEx using the 727 which they don’t fly anymore. I’d also like to fly Delta flight on the 777 which they longer fly.

I don’t want to manage an airline and not have a whole lot of restrictions. Does such an addon exist?

I belong to a couple VAs but they don’t allow time compression use and are somewhat restrictive.

Does such an addon exist? I’m trying to give myself more reasons to fly.

Thanks

Ron Hamilton

Another VA, Walker air https://walkerair.us/

I remember them as being pretty wide open to anything.

Time compression aloud with penalty point(but who cares about the points).

Canada Air Virtual is another one that is very wide open. I just dont about time compression.

You could have a look at Fly The Line,

https://www.justflight.com/product/fly-the-line-short-haul-edition

It says "short haul" edition, but a new version that also enables long haul schedules is already in beta. It is generally very flexible, but you will lose a few (not many) points if you use time acceleration.

Thank you Peter ! Will the long haul addition be a separate addon or a free update ?

Can fly cargo as well ? Can I make my own airline or charter company ?

A PILOT'S LIFE - CHAPTER 2 does what you're after and also scores each flight which I find especially valuable since desktop simming, unlike RW flying, is without meaningful consequences when things go awry. The scoring can be a surrogate for meaningful consequences, in fact that is also the reason why I also use Self Loading Cargo which has an even more robust scoring feature as well as providing major ambience from pilot and crew.

  1. It will be a free update.

  2. You can fly any plane you want and also fly cargo planes. One problem is that cargo airlines do not often work on a schedule, or do not publish schedules. But nothing will stop you from creating your own cargo airline and create a schedule for it.

About a month ago I purchased "Fly The Line" on one of Just Flight(JF) discount sales and I am really enjoy and like it. The developer communicates via his Discord channel and the JF forms and is updating the addon for long hauls, users to edit their own schedules as well adding other nice little features.... all free. IMO, it is worth the $$$ even without the sale. Also, it is a one time purchase, no subscriptions required.

FlyHub

Has the best career mode i played. Stoped using APL2 since i have it.

Con:

It's a subscription, but only 3 or 4 $
