Not directly related to the OP, but in the X-Plane ECosystem, which is prone to integration of plugins for all sorts of purposes, I've seen lately an increase of some types particularly interesting for me - weather enhancement plugins.

We've seen @MrBitstFlyer haze / visibility plugin, and yesterday I tested two plugins meant to create better overall turbulence effects.

I know of at least another great project in the oven, covering this same area, but for the time being, give a try to:

X-ProTurb — Professional Turbulence Engine - Utilities - X-Plane.Org Forum

and

XPT_Turbulence : Last upgrade - Utilities - X-Plane.Org Forum

a few fellow Winnipeggers in here! We may have a developer working on CYWG for Xplane 12. He is releasing CYYC first, then CYWG. Hopefully that roadmap doesn't change.

Another Winnipeg simmer here....Are you at liberty to say who the Dev is?

Not sure if it's public knowledge so I have to keep to myself. I will say this, who it is makes me very pleased. His stuff is amazing. 😁

Seems the issue of plugins is a perenial - I removed Live Traffic not because it did no work but the overhead and basic demand of the lua script to be running and halt everything else. Given the quality and availability of 3rd Party Connections to populate the AI this could result in wait out times of 90 secs or more. Until this completed you could no nothing with the sim. Some of the logic was askew as well - by that I mean aircraft displayed could change direction eratically in a distorted way. Some places the feed was excellent but if it was an out of the way GA airport - forget it. The performance increase and flexibility now is excellent. Do not miss the traffic experience - there are alternatives - depends on if it is necessary for your sim experience I Guess. Anyhow now see why the first thing the bug hunters go after is Lua scripts.

The only issue I have with off the shelf AI programs is they cater very well for big city heavy metal worlds but what is lacking is AI for GA - that is small aeroplanes doing stuff at out of the way airports.
