Yesterday at 12:27 AM1 day I have a BoboVR S2 and originally used batteries with it until i got sick of having to charge everything. Now for flight simming I just use the S2 as a head strap and don't even put the battery on the back and instead run a 90 degree USB cable to the Quest 3 power port and plug that into a phone charger. I don't even turn the headset off, just letting it sleep when no in use and instantly powering back on when I put the headset on. I has been fine like that for over two years now. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
Yesterday at 04:17 AM1 day VR Flight Sim Guy now likes the AMVR3 headstrap instead of the Bobo (which he used to always use). I don't have a Quest , only a Pimax Crystal Light. 19 hours ago19 hr I'm still using a Quest 3 and till now it's been excellent for me in all gamesHowever, since sim update 5, I have what looks like a persistent single frame drop per second. It's like there is a framerate mismatch between the headset and sim (both meta app cabled and in VD). I'm guessing others aren't experiencing this as I don't see any other reports of itOther than that, I think the q3 is great, especially for it's features and price

Just checked my speeds on Ookla - 113 Download.Your internet speed is unrelated to using wireless VR. It's dependent on the latency between your PC and your headset within your own network. To answer your question.I do not have a dedicated router for Wireless VR. I currently have a single Unifi U6+ paired with a Unifi CloudGateway Ultra. Having a separate AP gave me the confidence in that I didn't need a dedicated router for this setup. It deals with my household needs as-well as PCVR needs perfectly. If anything I need to by another AP as the signal is a little weak for the television upstairs but that's irrelevant. My PC is connected via Ethernet.I use Virtual Desktop (Fantastic piece of software) and my hardware is a 5800X3D paired with a 7800XT. Performance is acceptable enough where I genuinely refuse to go back to flatscreen, despite it being a much smoother experience. I have AutoFPS managing my settings as necessary to keep a stable 36 NFR fps. This is using a Quest 3 with a Bobovr Strap for extra batter life, though I only have the headset on for preflight, takeoff, approach and landing. Other times I switch back to flatscreen and turn on cinematic mode with Chaseplane and go about my day.If you are looking for a dedicated router, something like the Beryl AX for Glinet is a great performer.

I have VD set to max bitrate AV1, which it has no problem maintaining smoothly at all times, with godlike render resolution with 150% scaling, giving me roughly 4000x4000 per eye that, combined with my DLSS settings, gives about the best clarity possible from the Quest 3 while maintaining 40 FPS locked (to give 80 FPS with SSW) and up to 400 TLOD with AutoFPS.I have the same CPU and a 5080 instead of 4090. Running similar settings, DLSS 4.5 Preset K and DLSS Quality, godlike at 36 with SSW. I am curious to try the higher render resolution and Balanced. How are you upscaling to 150%, through the VD render scaling settings or through some hidden MSFS config (I have read about that somewhere), OpenXR toolkit? Do you have Foveated rendering selected in MSFS? Can take to a private conversation if more appropriate. Unfortunately NO I do not recommend anyone buying these current production runs of Pimax Dream Air. Far too many issues with heat, warping and motion blur for the current price. While a 5080 is roughly the performance equivalent of a 4090, it only has two thirds the VRAM hence it is very likely my specific settings will overflow VRAM on any GPU with 16GB VRAM or less and make performance unacceptable. The point I am trying to make with posting my settings is that it is possible to even further improve the default visual quality of the Quest 3 for a given FPS target but it requires tuning those settings to your specific hardware and supporting apps. Even at default settings, the Quest 3 has very good image quality so I would not worry if your system is unable to push it much past that, particularly since it is in the region of diminishing returns.Oh and yes I use FFV in MSFS, set to the default 50. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

I never expereienced any problem with heat using my HP Reverb G2. If you use the Quest 3 as PCVR does its component still heat up ? I think I remember a review with the Bobo S# being compared to the kiwidesign k4 and preffered the latter in spite of no fan
