According to VAR and ball technology the cross by the Croatia player against Portugal brushed the head of another Croatia player before it then touched a Portugal defender then reached the Croatia player who then passed it into the goalmouth where it was put in the net.

I’ve watched it a few times and the ball makes no obvious deviation. If I was a Croatia supporter or player I’d be livid. Goal ruled out for offside.

I can’t recall this technology being used in our Premier League. Hopefully it never will.

Yes, that will be a significant factor. Mexicans are used to playing there. When I went to Tenerife last year the tour took us to over 8,000ft to see the night sky. No problems breathing but I was only strolling around.

43 years ago I walked to the summit of Teide - 12,200ft from the top of the cable car at 11,500ft. Despite being fit and just 32 I soon got breathless. Lack of oxygen will be a factor for England. Play smart is key.
