LIDO Charts

Featured Replies

Hello Mates,

I have a Navigraph subscription and in my PMDG planes (777, 3727) I can consult Jeppesen Charts in the EFB .

However in the iniBuilds A350, I can choose LIDO Charts, which I prefer.

I was wondering if that is a particular case where iniBuilds has a partnership with Lufthansa (LIDO) or if I missed something with Navigraph.

LIDO charts are included in MSFS 24 by default (plus FAA charts for the US)

Navigraph just provides access to Jeppersen, presumably because Jeppersen provides closer to universal coverage than LIDO

You did not miss anything with Navigraph, you missed something with MS2024.

LIDO charts are the default chart option in the sim. Some Aircraft give you the option to display them in their EFB's.

Thank you very much @Matchstick and @Farlis Much appreciated.

Oh man, I was not aware at all that LIDO charts are available by default in the sim!

It is a pity that PMDG do not offer the possibility to opt for LIDO... Looks like they have a partnership with Navigraph...

I use the MSFS 2024 for every IFR flight. I just open the planner on my IPAD:

I'm surprised that you not aware of this essential v2024 feature.

MSFS 2024 is my sim choice everyday and twice on Sundays.

Thanks for your link Jose.

It's because I fly FS2024 intermittently: a couple of months intensively then a couple of months off (because of work). So there are things that I miss.

But see Jose, what seems obvious for some of us, is not necessarily obvious for other 😉

Now all we need is for all addon devs to include the ability to view MSFS2024's LIDO charts in their EFBs.

Some only provide LIDO

Some provide the option to view built-in LIDO or Navigraph

Then, there are still some pesky devs that only provide access to Navigraph charts in their EFB. Even though it's subscription option, and MSFS2024 has these beautiful LIDO charts, sitting there waiting to be accessed.

You can of course view the LIDA charts via the MSFS2024 default EFB though. 😉

This has been requested on the PMDG forum but as is the norm there, any sort of request to add already existing features the base sim provides gets the usual fear and loathing response from Mathijs and their gatekeepers.

Yeah, always the same song from Mathijs. It's like a simple and basic pushback feature in the EFB... but no... it is of no interest to PMDG. Not everybody has GSX.

If you have an external tablet, the charts will display just fine there, even though there is no dedicated app (yet).

Just an important caveat about the LIDO charts - it's only for airports which an airliner would fly into. So if you do General Aviation (and you fly outside of the USA, because FAA charts covers that area), you won't have any charts.

Navigraph is still very relevant and their app is superb as well.

Even then there are some missing. Like Dundee, Scotland.

Though for some reason it has charts for CFS Alert in Canada, which is a military only station??
