Hey - we need CFD turbulence effects! 😁👍

Turning it back to Realistic and letting ActiveSky do it's thing is a game changer.Airliners + Realistic Turbulence + ActiveSky in passive mode is superb and really transformed FS2024 for me with all of my addon aircraft. Sometimes it feels like you really have to fight it all the way down. I watch channels like "Approach and Departure Videos" and the setup I have now really replicates what I see in real life on those videos which is what I felt I was missing. Not sure what kind of videos you are watching, but "realistic" turbulence is far from realistic. This is the general consensus basically, most prominently among real pilots.Put it on low and then use only ActiveSky or RealTurb for some decent (!) turbulence effects at the right time and place (e.g. cloud turbulence). And always keep in mind that "on rail" is mostly correct for airliners in turbulence as far as you can get at home (missing the "feel" element) For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Four last month, one this month. Looking at my actual time in the sim, I have maybe flown three full routes total with them.Work and life get busy, but even when I do have free time, I rarely touch the new stuff. The addons are great, so quality is not the issue. It just seems like the excitement of buying them was greater than the urge to actually fly them.I still use my core tools every session like Chaseplane and BATC, though I started using default traffic again recently because BATC only handles departure and arrival airports. But the new purchases just sit in the community folder. Recently, I rarely use GSX too since I am not always in the mood for procedural and rigid flights. Anyone else buy addons faster than you actually use them? That's why I regulate certain aircraft to regions when I decide to fly there:1. BS Baron/A36 - Florida flying up and down the state2. BS Duke - Carefree airport just north of Pheonix (Nice for short hopes to Vegas)3. BS KingAir - Charter flying from Vegas to the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, etc4. BS Commander - SoCal flying up and down the coast (previously the bird of choice was FSReborn's Piper Meridian 500)5. Default Cirrus - Local Georgia ATL area flyingAll the bush/float planes are relegated to Alaska Forges area or the Pacific NorthwestThese are to name a few but having designated areas for certain aircraft breaks things up a bit. Since I live in Florida, I say what would be my bird of choice for real world ownership? What would I like to fly in if I had friends in other places like Arizona or the Gold Coast? Then stick to those areas for those birds. Then there's military aviation with add-ons like Super Carrier Pro (with it's global locations) or off the beaten path there's the yacht add-ons that look best in the waters of Monico and Tahiti (guess I went off the beaten path). This for me keeps it interesting.🙃 Edited 2 hours ago2 hr by Dillon FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

I have a rule in life to never listen to "the general consensus" without trying something out for myself. That goes for films, books, rollercoasters and my simulator settings. All I know is my FS2024 now matches fairly accurately what I see on numerous real life videos and more to the point, it feels better to me which is what I went looking for since I was disappointed with the awful "FSX" feeling it had previously.
