SU 6 of MSFS2024 runs very smoothly on my computer. I did buy the recently released 707-320C from the marketplace and the product is streamed to my rig.

However, when I select the 707 and any airport in the free flight section of MS2024 and push the "start flight" button, I always get an immediate CTD and need to recover and start up MS2024 again with the task manager.

I have not any clue how to solve this issue.

No issues with any other plane in my hangar!

Me too ... and we're not alone. The basic variant with default livery usually works fine, but any attempt to use any of the other GPS variants or liveries fails miserably.

Some people say it's a mis-match with FSS aircraft, but I don't have any of those.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

Yes - and also downloaded it to use locally/not streamed. Still CTDs ...

+1 I’ve only ever tried to load the INS version but it crashed the sim on both occasions I tried.

Broken 707? Better get Patroni on the blower!

I just loaded the 707 with all 3 FMC options and textures. Loaded and entered inputs into FMC's worked as should. I did not go any further than that.

BTW all variants and liveries are working on my side.

Mine takes way too long to load 5+ mins everytime. There's something up.

Glad I'm not the only one. Out of a dozen attempts I've managed to only make three flights. The other times MSFS crashes out at different times: sometimes at the selection, other times when the map loads up. I haven't been able to make rhyme or reason out of it. I've tried both the streamed and downloaded version and totally empty CF. I have NO issues with any other AC. I've tried rebooting computer after the crash, clearing cache. Nothing seems to work. The two times it did load it was a default livery. I went to change livery and MSFS crashed. It doesn't matter if it's the first AC I select or subsequent one, the sound stutters and the white circular thingy stops. Many times it hangs and I have to use task manager to restart. There's been little mention and I'm glad I'm not the only case as my installation of MSFS 2024 has been rock solid up until this AC.

Adam, you mentioned FSS AC, I hadn't heard that, do you have any further details or where to find this info?

After another seven hours of fiddling I found few items of interest:

I can disable the WT version and load and run the AH version of the 707 without issue. I actually got my 707 fix for about an hour this way.

disable AH and enable WT version and return to same scenario.. "configure AC" and WT selected, MSFS 2024 hangs. Task manager says the module is in "efficiency mode". I only notice that after the sim has halted or is not responding. It does not normally run in efficiency mode. I right click and can not take it out. Only way out is to "End task". Also I think Adamski mentioned possible conflict with FSS. I do have FSS 727, but I not only renamed it, but moved it to the recycle bin without any positive effect on the WT 707 loading. Just discovered, by accident, the WT 707 will load under India livery and GNS config. Change anything else and no joy. Also once the ac loads in and Ready to Fly, I had to "restart" to get several of the functions to work. At least I have a limited ac to use. Reselect different config and sim hangs or CTD.

Here's hoping the community can shed some insight on this weird anomaly. TIA of any ideas. Terry

Clarified additional info

I flew this plane without problems until I updated last night windows. I shut the computer down. Then this morning I tried three x's to arrange flights with the A220-300 then Fenix's A320. I had crashes to the desktop everytime. This may be related to the windows update.

I haven't updated Windows for over a month. This is just plain weird.

I hope this is also being captured on MASOBO support thread(s). Also this software beast seems to have a mind of its own and it seems unable to make its mind up!

Just to confirm. All three variants and liveries of the 707 work fine my end. no issues. Great aircraft, really enjoying what WT and Inibuilds did with this one,
