Attaching Jetways to AI Aircraft - Finally possible?

Featured Replies

I've been working on a few apps to augment AI in the sim, all built using Claude Code (for personal use only - dumb things like Airshow, departures boards, even have managed to get ground services for AI aircraft, etc.)...all seems to work well.

One thing that I've always hit a brick-wall with is getting jetways to connect to the aircraft, as they are not controlled by the simulator, but by my apps (i think this is identical to the way BATC, SIAI and FSHUD are doing it)...and they have always said its impossible given sim limitations, so I always gave up when looking through the API. Now, it looks like the team at BATC have been able to get around the limitation and are releasing something soon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tDUBWBQDaM&pp=ygUKYmV5b25kIGF0Yw%3D%3D

Anyone have any idea what method they have used to get around the sim-limitation? Hats off to them, this is game changing, and I hope other developers will follow suit.

Nico,

I believe that SI and BATC methods of injecting AI differ fundamentally from yours. We have discussed it many times on your forum.

No they dont. It is FSLTL that does it differently.

FSLTL's traffic uses the default sim AI, which is why their aircraft can use jetways without any workarounds.

The BATC jetway update is out now on the experimental branch.

That is exactly what I said/meant in my post....

There is this new addon Apron Live on flightsim.to that also adds jetway connection for AI traffic. Wonder, why suddenly everyone is able to do this?

maybe something to do with SU6?

This is great, but there are still too many other issues with BATC to use it properly.

I'd love PSXT to get this to work

AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo
64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance
32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card

I've been using BATC for the last month since I ended my SIAI sub, and I've not had any major issues with it.

I haven't been vectored too high at all, which used to happen a lot.

I only do IFR with it.

Yep, just tested BATC at ELLX, works great.

SI attaches Jetways to AI aircraft and will push them back as well.

I wish PSXT does that too.

IIRC BATC has had pushback tugs since they added AI like 2 years ago.

It does work great. I used it at WSSS just to see that it worked. It took a wasn't immediate, but I was looking around the airport and from one second to another I noticed that the jetways were attached.

Then I saw one jetway move away and the plane taxied away under ATC instructions (it moved before the instruction, but it was still cool). I normally just use BATC for ATC and PSXT for the traffic.
