  1. He's asking about a 777 not a 737. There is though also the Flight Factor 777.
  2. Heads up Jordan King is streaming Flight School Beta Now!! https://www.twitch.tv/jordankinggaming
  3. Actually for it's time, I didn't have a problem with FS5, especially FS5.1, the one that was really bad to me was FS95. FS98 was a little better, but it wasn't til FS2000 when they switched to Mesh scenery to compete with the ProPilot and TRI FLY, where FS really started to mature into what we have today.
  4. Not everyone watching Youtube reads their forum, for me it's been a while, a simple "PrePar3D feature only" in the YT description box would have sufficed. I actually think they could have done it in Couatl if they wanted to and make it available in both platforms. It already has the ability to create the AVATAR (ie:The marshaller in GSX), it would just be a matter of tying in the Camera system, something that has already been done in FSX by OrBx (ie: Bob)
  5. But on the video itself it says Microsoft Flight Simulator not P3D and the description links FSX to it. A little misleading if you didn't know. True P3D is the only platform that has AVATAR mode built in, but based on what COUATL is capable of, it's reasonable to think they may have implemented a AVATAR mode with it as well Tower Experience Alessandro C 34 5,451 views Published on May 10, 2016 Fsdreamteam Kmem tower experience Game Microsoft Flight Simulator X 2006 Explore in YouTube Gaming
  6. I can appreciate that, but there was no mention at all of P3D, unless you saw the FSDT forum post, one would think it was for FSX.
  7. Then somebody should edit that video, because it only mentions Microsoft Flight Simulator.
  8. It's a little bit different this time, as more is being offered for a reasonably low price, which shows it's meant as a lead in product, to get newbies interested. One of the main reasons I like flight sim, is the illusion I'm flying to places anywhere in the world I never been before, and at this stage never will be. With Flight School after the lessons are completed the user can then go into free flight and fly out of any place in the world, and if there is relative detailed scenery as I believe there is at some locations, as demonstrated by the promo shots over the Pyramids. There will be plenty of places they can explore. Where as flight limited you to the Hawaiian Islands, and Alaska, if you bought the DLC and that was it. The hope is that this will entice new people to upgrade to DFS when released. This could work, but there is a problem. FSXSE, all of the functionality and more of flight school, already exists in FSXSE in the learning center and also it's mission systems. So the only real advantages Flight School has over FSXSE is that it's 64bit, and better Orbx based scenery. While 64bit architecture will be important to the full featured sim DFS is suppose to be, it's not at all necessary for the more limited Flight School, so people may just choose FSXSE from the get go. If that happens, it will be harder to get them to switch over to DFS, a least in the near term as functionality would be similar, and if addons were added, would most likely surpass that of DFS, at least until 3rd party addons or DLC was available for it.
  9. It's not using P3D's AVATAR mode, the lead in to the video, says it's for FSX. Looks like similar functionality but probably using Couatl instead. I assume there will be a P3D version as well though at some point.
  10. You're right and I'm sorry, I just came back to edit the first part out, but you already posted. That part was unnecessary!!
  11. if you use any FSDT airports, or GSX, you are already using COUATL!!
  12. Actually that's not what's really happening. All it's doing is allowing you to define zones where ATC will essentially allow you to do anything you want without complaint from ATC. You can do 360 turns it won't care. Where as PATC dynamically assigns SID/STAR, based on weather/wind and expects you you to fly it according to profile. Which is why it needs it's NAVAID DB in sync with you FMC NAVDATA, and PFE/PF3 also RC4 don't.
  13. I second PROATC/X, especially if you like flying SID/STAR procdures. Here's a flight I did to Las Vegas to give you an idea what to expect. (accelled time in cruise) This is in FSX.
  14. Pete, I think the difference is you are running it on a client PC, in which case AM runs fine on Simconnect 61242. We are running AM on a single system with FSXSE installed where AM apparently needs 62615 to run. Probably because it is superseding 61242 being it's more current.
  15. Well if that's the way you are doing it, that's the problem. atc_parking_types is the type of parking, The ICAO airline code should go into the atc_parking_codes entry, So for example Delta Airlines would look like this. atc_parking_types=Gate atc_parking_codes=DAL Now I just noticed this is a FS2004 thread, not FSX, so maybe there i an issue with FS2004. This works though in FSX.
  16. There not suppose too, the target audience for this is newbies, to introduce them to flight simming. DTG Flight Simulator released later this year is the product this community will be much more interested in.
  17. Actually there is, it's the FSXSE native version located here SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\lib and this is the entry in the manifest file <dependentAssembly dependencyType="install" allowDelayedBinding="true" codebase="Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.dll" size="108608"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect" version="10.0.62615.0" publicKeyToken="5F523AE7E6E1B389" language="neutral" processorArchitecture="x86" />
  18. Did all that, and I just downloaded the one posted as Best Answer yesterday (Ver 1.9.1.3), which didn't work. The version I posted is only one revision behind (Ver 1.9.1.2) and is the only version that works on my system.
  19. The one marked Best Answer doesn't work with FSXSE at least on my system. The one I posted, specifically declares the FSXSE Simconnect version="10.0.62615.0 in the Manifest file. I'm wondering if I just changed the one in the later file (The one marked Best Answer), would that work? I think I'll try that.
  20. I finally got this working in FSX-SE with this version (specifically produced by the developer for FSXSE) www.mediafire.com/download/d6b10dn3mqkc70h/AirTrafficManagerFSXSE_Radar.zip Thanks to you for your help in finding a version that worked and the original developer for producing such a useful utility. This sure is going to result in smoother flights to areas like NYC, Chicago, and London where the amount of AI really hits performance. Thanks again
  21. This is absolutely not true, check your aircraft.cfg settings you should have the following lines atc_parking_types, and atc_parking_codes (Plural) There is a tutorial floating around which incorrectly uses atc_parking_type and atc_parking_code . This is what won't work. The other criteria is size. As long as there is a gate large enough to accommodate the aircrafrt, that matches the Airline Code that is available, ATC will assign it. So for example you are a British Airways 747. For ATC to assign an appropriate gate. The assigned gate would need to have a size as large or greater then the size of the aircraft, the type of parking and the ICAO airline code would have to match atc_parking_types=Gate atc_parking_codes=BAW. Here's a site, that should have the correct sizes needed. Note some 3rd party developers aircraft, may have used a different size. You may have to make adjustments in the AFCAD to accommodate those. http://www.flightsim2004-fanatics.com/FlightSim/FSXWingSpanValues.htm
  22. I don't know about XP but Majestic used NASA/JPL flight modeling code for their Q400 for FSX/P3D
  23. I'm sure in the real world if a plane veers off course on approach without contact ATC will attempt to contact the pilot to correct or establish a missed approach, in the sim though I don't think any of the off line ATC addons will do this. They'll pretty much leave you alone to land once cleared. It's incumbent on the pilot to declare a missed approach before ATC will re-establish control. Although I never tried it. I use PROATC/X now, I'll try this on my next flight to see what happens.
  24. Setup your default flight to your home airport (Which I presume is the same timezone you live). Make sure in the general settings, you are set to System time. Then whenever you startup FSX it will start at your home airport with the same local time as where you live, When you move to another airport the time will be relative to that timezone. So for example if you live in the EDT timezone and the time is 15:00 FSX will start at your home airport (You won't have to load the flight) at that local time. If you then want to fly out of KLAX for example it will adjust local time to 12:00. Current time in Los Angeles (PDT)
  25. Yes it does, as well as terrain radar, but no TCAS (planned later)
