  1. Is the show all variations tick box checked in the choose a/c dialog? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  2. Even if that data gathering was shown to be no more than a "fishing expedition"? I won't pretend to have expertise in this area (as much as I would love to argue down my wife on such things, he he). It's all just a bit fishy for my comfort. Meh, perhaps I'm just way to cynical about these things.
  3. My view is that the FBI/MPAA/RIAA didn't really care one way or the other about extradition. I think the end goal was most likely to shut the business down for long enough that it would eventually see itself wind up. Find a rip of said DVD, you won't find that at the start...it's always seemed a bit redundant to me, personally. The only people who would see this are the people who source the film legitimately! Couldn't agree more. Most western countries now have sufficient legislation to tackle copyright/wrong to deal with this, including us here. I was always under the impression that extradition was designed to deal with serious offences - murder, fraud etc. And I did ponder to myself on the way home this evening. Since the raids were illegal, and thus the confiscation of that data was not legal, does that technically mean that the subsequent cloning and copying of data now puts those law enforcement bodies into the "unlawful copying of copyrighted data" category. IANAL and all that...
  4. I know you're asking for FSX , so this will be relevant I hope in a couple of months :-) QW's 146, from any route around an hour. Perfect for the time poor jet simmer! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  5. Clive, have you tried a windows repair? That should fix up the issue in the first instance.... Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  6. Thanks to everyone who replied. I've played around with plan-g; I love its distance feature, very cool. Kudos to the clever integration with Google Earth. Still getting to grips with its flight planning, though I suspect at the moment I will probably stick with FSC/FSBuild for that. Destination Finder though was without doubt precisely what I was looking for, thank you for that! As Mad Dog says, I really am amazed at the freeware stuff that you can find these days - just about an app for anything :)
  7. Had to make sure that fsc was run as admin otherwise I would get a runtime error trying to open the plan in rc Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Wow, the suggestions keep coming; mad dog you've found me just what I am after - epic work there, sir. Rafal, this looks a lot like the ring function in gmap that I mentioned earlier (which I am liking, btw).
  9. Thanks for the suggestions, folks. Bigsky - I don't often fly planes using the default GPS, but its obvious now you mention it :) I'm taking a look at Plan G - the Range rings look to be getting there for what I'm hoping to achieve and lots more by the looks of it, so thanks to you ytzpilot. You can't really beat freeware either!
  10. Thanks Meshman, that's exactly the sort of tool I was looking for! At last I know it exists now. Next step will be finding it :-) Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  11. Hi everyone, Bit of another way round to the usual Flight planner questions. Are there any tools (freeware/payware/online) that can tell me available airports within a radius of origin airport? Googling has not been very fruitful on this. EG - Airport A is my origin. I would like to be able to find all available airports of no more than an hour of airport A, or a distance of 500nm (give or take) of it. Can't see that this is something I am able to do in FSCommander or FSBuild. At the moment, I am picking an airport and then guessing distances, which can be a bit hit and miss! Thanks, Leo
  12. No problems at all. I've actually just reinstalled FS9 because of the QW Avro (grr.. taken ages to get it all up and running again :) . Both sit on the same physical drive on the same partition, all is good. A bit OT though...it has got me reinstalling a lot of my old regional airports that serve this bird so well. Seems to me to be a bit of a dearth of regionals in FSX.. am I wrong - are there any recommendeds?
  13. Hey Gerard, thanks for the freebie. Have you thought of torrenting this at all? http://gigaom.com/video/ten-sites-for-free-and-legal-torrents/
  14. And, just to add, I've been watching Aerosofts thread about their BAE too - http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/35214-aerosoft-bae-146/ . I'm really rather excited by it all - I love this plane ever since I went from Gatwick to Bologna so many years ago. I enjoyed Aerosoft's City Commuter package, despite it's lack of VC, then Hannity's rendition that never seemed to progress (not taking away from what he achieved, mind). It's good that we've got a good regional in the pipeline. ~Sigh. Like London buses. You wait for ages, then three come along at once...
  15. Murderers don't impact the music mafia's bottom line, ergo, legislation need not be bought to stop them.
  16. Why do I love FSX...easy. FSX justifies my hardware he he
  17. Interesting... I couldn't get SP2 to run - gave me an error about incompatible DX9 version running (RTM FSX just fine though). I found via a search on Google that this has something to do with Logitech headsets (though for the life of me I cannot find the webpage now). Rebuilt W7, all h/w bar headset, then FSX/SP2 then headset - all good. Strange.
  18. You don't happen to have a logitech USB headset by any chance do you? I think this was the root cause of sp2p failing for meSent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  19. No, they can't - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15572495, and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newzbin#2011_legal_action_and_ISP_site_blocking report just how futile and simple circumvention is.
  20. Thanks , all good now :DSent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
  21. I know this is a bit of a stale topic now, but I can't login via Tapatalk either. Have been using login via FB on the site via PC, but my FB pwd, old AVSIM u/name and pwd all fail on Tapatalk. Does anyone know what userID and pwd I should actually be using with Tapatalk? Thanks, Leo
  22. Just read this with interest and thought I would pass it on - http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/01/06/microsoft_flight_sim_free/The article isn't that kind either -..From the trailer the new game, set on the Hawaiian Islands, is going to be much more like an airborne Grand Theft Auto, just without the blood and guts. It shows pilots flying for awards and bonus features, rather than handling accurate wind shear or experiencing the exact layout of Lihue Airport. Worse still, the game is designed to be played with a keyboard and mouse.Might just stick with FS9/X...
  23. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I am intrigued... why just one plane and one airport? I thought half the fun of FS was new and exciting places with new and exciting toys :)
  24. Hi everyone, I'm in the market to get a new headset/headphones and was hoping some of you might give me some ideas - looking at about $200 NZD (160USD/115 Euro). Tempted with the Logitech G35, but I have a horrible feeling they won't pick up a line in input - I run RC4 from another machine, so rely on the line in on my main computer for the RC audio. Will use for FS (of course!) and gaming mainly - listening to music and watching films et is a lower need. No bluray here. While not a dealbreaker, Dolby enhancement (5.1, 7.1 etc) would be nice. Any ideas? Thanks, Leo
