  1. No I’m not using the steam version, I’ve tried it in a heavy area and it dipped to about 32fps. But nothing lower so far. maybe it’s the screen res? I don’t use 4K or 2K as my system wouldn’t handle it. Setting are on high which was the recommendation upon simulator start up(which I was surprised). Only have 12gb ram as well, Computer is ONLY used for flight simulator, nothing else, no other gaming etc. as I don’t game. Also a side note, I base it on the built in FPS counter, not an outside program however the sim runs great so not worried and the Accuracy of the built in FPS counter I have yet to try AI also so maybe that’s why?
  2. I flew around in Toronto yesterday and it was there...That’s odd.
  3. Yes, should be fine for power, I’m on a I7 7700, 16 gigs of ram and a gtx 1060 6gb card, running on high...no crashes yet
  4. Give us your true opinion on it. My purchase of this can and may be based on you review 😁
  5. These two lines right here indicate some people truly didn’t give it a fair chance, used it for a short given amount of time and came here to complain....Give it a chance, take your time, set it up properly, play around with it, play with the settings, figure it out before burning it down. Can’t just jump in and expect it to be setup to your personal liking...I’m not saying there are no issues, but give it more than an hour.
  6. Same here, truly enjoyed my short time that I got to use it. looking forward on what’s to come with this simulator. Gonna give it another quick go tonight, only thing I’m missing is more time in a day.
  7. I’m certain that given some time, MOST everyone (not everyone) complaining will be using this as their main platform in due time...assuming it doesn’t get abandoned.
  8. Thanks for posting, I don’t have any panels but planning on getting a few in the future, so may pick this up while on sale and let it sit till I’m ready for it.
  9. I’m completely happy with the sim, So much so, unfortunately I don’t think I can go back to my previous simulator. I am thankful for the many years of enjoyment my previous simulator has given me. But this one is game changing in my eyes.
  10. Well after finally getting to try the new sim after a long days work and a 2 hour download which went off without a hitch, I finally had a chance to give it a quick go. Seems to be quite a broad spectrum of opinions on it so figured I’d give mine. My pc is very modest, I’m running an I7 7700, 12gb ram, gtx 1060 6gb card. My impressions so far...WOW, I am extremely impressed, kudos to Microsoft on this one. my performance is great on high settings in clear skies, rain, overcast etc. In the a320, caravan or Cessna 172. Seems i get nothing below 40 FPS so far which is more than acceptable given my system. My resolution is lower, 1920x1080. But wow does this ever look awesome. The ground, the way it looks, being able to navigate by roads in my area. I am convinced this truly is the future of simming. Sure there are some quirks, but as a simmer since fs95 and my initial experience with msfs(2020), I hate to say it as I truly enjoyed my p3d time and am thankful, but I truly don’t think I can go back to p3d, even without my PMDG’s and A2A’s. The clouds, the rain coming off the windscreen, the immersion when it’s raining and cloudy with a mix of sun. This has truly exceeded my expectations, And the best part, it can only get better. I have a lot of settings to tinker with, and controls to set etc. But my experience so far has been jaw dropping. This is truly a great time for the flight simulation community. I am extremely happy with my purchase, no regrets, and definitely feel like I got my money’s worth and then some. Hope the majority are enjoying it as much as I am! cheers!
  11. I ordered the full package. There were a few items in the full package that I was interested in so for me personally I think it was worth the cost.
  12. Just got charged...yours is coming if it hasn’t already
  13. Unfortunately same here..it’s too close to release for me to invest any more..however for those on the fence..Their products are fantastic..really really good products from them!!!!! And should be move onto to Msfs, I will be purchasing.
  14. Even in default, still looks miles ahead. This is a base, imagine what can be achieved in a few years using this base! I haven’t been this excited for a sim since I purchased fs2004 from the local Best Buy that came in a fancy tin can! Man that was exciting, and I’m just as excited if not more for this one....this sim looks great!
  15. Yep...Canada, I don’t normally look forward to a bill coming out of the ol’ account, but this time around I want to get the charge!
  16. As mentioned above by someone else, may a high wing aircraft is best for this...visibility. id like to do one of these as well, I may use the cirrus
  17. Im not too familiar with the dashboard on this one, I will go and google for my personal learning. From what I gather It’s quick though which would help for a round the world trip....I think it would be dreadful to do it In something like a Cessna 172
  18. May be a bit before any GA payware aircraft Releases. If your planning to start right away with default maybe the TBM(not sure if it classified as a GA)? I’m not familiar with TBM tho so it could be the wrong aircraft for the mission, but it’s the one that comes to mind.
  19. I don’t blame you, I’m doing the same especially with msfs soon to be released. I’m almost certain that my days with p3d are coming to an end so I’m saving to invest in msfs.
  20. Your going to have to pay full price again. I don’t think they specifically said that, but given if you purchase the ngxu today for p3d, it will be full price for the ng3 in msfs...so even though they didn’t say it about the 747(at least I haven’t seen anything about pricing), I’m certain you will have to pay full price again For msfs, which i have no issues with!
  21. PMDG sale at their website, 23% off till August 14th
  22. I’m feeling exactly that.. I was fine, very much enjoying p3d right up until they announced the release date, Since the announcement I started p3d up once for about 20 minutes and logged off..Not that it’s not a good sim as it gave me many years of enjoyment, but I think the buzz of the new sim being so close to release has really turned me away from p3d at the moment.. if the new sim turns out to be a bust, I’m certain my interest in p3d will return...If it turns out to be everything I’m thinking it will be, well then I may just clean the ol’ hard drive out. so for the meantime, the computer will be on holidays till august 18th!
  23. I hate to say it but since the msfs 2020 release date has been announced, I did lose interest in starting up P3D to fly. I’m not saying I’m giving up on P3D as msfs 2020 may not be what I expect, but for the time being I really don’t have an interest in flying in P3D at the moment. Having said that and getting back to the topic at hand, I’m not really sure what p3d can do if anything in the next month via updates to shift the interest that’s been peaked with the msfs release announcement.
