  1. I had this issue as well, however since installing SP1 for the NGX, I now see traffic in EFB. I don't know about IVAO, but I can confirm traffic is visible on VATSIM. I do have Active Sky Evolution and the EFB Display Unit running on a secondary PC.
  2. Thanks for the heads up on the Facebook logo. :)No, the graphic at the top is not intended as a signature, but more a banner for our announcement.Cheers!
  3. Lot of different tweaks out there and I have tried them all at one time or another, but IMHO this one is the best.
  4. SSDs are definately the way to go, if you can afford the price tag. A side from no more defrags, I have found load times are faster and scenery loads much faster (less pop-ups).I know that in the FS World OO Defrag is weill know, but another really good defrag program you may want to consider is Diskeeper. http://www.diskeeper.com/ I have been using it on my non-ssd drive PC for years and found that I get better results.
  5. (Image 2/2 removed by CK)Canadian Xpress® is pleased to announce that we now have a Facebook page that is available at http://www.facebook....219025324832089 .The Canadian Xpress® Facebook page contains pictures of all the aircraft in our fleet and headlines a few of the over 100 events that we have per year.To get the most up to date news regarding Canadian Xpress®, visit our web site at http://CanadianXpress.ca .
  6. Certainly will have this one on my must have list.
  7. Canadian Xpress® would like to invite all pilots to join us for our for our November 2011 fly-in where where we head for Island Paradise in the French Polynesia.Departing from Rarotonga (NCRG) on the Cook Islands, we head off for a 600nm flight to Papeete (NTAA) which is the main hub for local island resorts. So plan the first leg with a CRJ7, A320, B737, or Citation X style of aircraft. From Papeete (NTAA), you will need to switch to a smaller aircraft as we are only a short 150nm from Bora Bora (NTTB) that has a 4,800 ft runway. White sandy beaches and grass huts are waiting for us.This is an open invitation to all pilots no matter what your flying experience to attend this Canadian Xpress® sponsored event that will be flown on the VATSIM network.More information regarding this event including operational details, charts, optional add-on scenery and the Canadian Xpress® SB Model Set can be viewed by visiting www.CanadianXpress.ca or by directly downloading our Fly-In document here.See you all on Saturday the 19th!
  8. In theory, this sounds like a good idea, but in reality how practical is it? With the exception of our weekly FIR event or if a VA asks for ATC for an event, I do not know well in advance when I am going to control. When there is time available, I simply hop on and start controlling. Even with scheduled events, I may book as being a Center controller, but may end up controlling another position as another controller is controlling the Center position. vRoute already has this functionality and it not used that often by controllers.
  9. I use Sqauwkbox instead of FS-Inn, but I know a few of our pilots do use it. To answer your question, the IVAO MTL is not compatible with FS-Inn while flying on VATSIM.
  10. This would depend on what Pilot Client you are using. With SquawkBox, you can use the drop down box and select the server you wish to connect to. I don't use FSInn, so I don't know how it works, but I am sure someone familiar with it can answer this question for you.
  11. A couple things for your consideration... VATSIM servers and bandwidth are donated, so if you are not going to be at your PC while flying, you should disconnect from the network and reconnect once you are back at your PC if you are going to be away from it for more than a couple of minutes. According to VATSIM's Code of Conduct, the supervisor and controller were in their right to suspend your account as they were not able to reach you for a duration that is longer than what is indicated in the code of conduct. During the time you were away, a controller would have to vector any conflicting traffic as they were not able to get in touch with you. I am a C1 controller and have lots of through traffic where aircraft are crossing the atlantic. There is not one night that doesn't go by where there is at least one aircraft that is not responding to my Contact Mes for an extended period of time. This is very fustrating for a controller as well as for other traffic in my airspace. For these reasons, that is why there is a code of conduct and why it is enforced. You may not be impressed with VATSIM, however these rules are in place, so that all pilots (& controllers) may enjoy flying on VATSIM.
  12. Completely agree with your approach! An extra week or two to get it right is of little consequences in the larger scheme of thigs.
  13. I use Plan-G for VFR.I used to use FSCommander for IFR flights until I discovered EFB, which is by far superior to FSCommander IMHO.
  14. Canadian Xpress® would like to invite all pilots to join us for our October fly-in where we will fly to one of the lowest airports in North America.Departing from Los Angeles Intl (KLAX) we will fly some of the country’s cooperate elite to Furnace Creek (L06) in Death Valley at 230 feet below sea level. These CEOs will be taking part in high stress meetings, networking and investment trading, better known as a weekend of golf at a high end resort with a side trip to Las Vegas (KLAS).So aircraft of choice for this event will be of the cooperate style. None of these CEO’s will be happy showing up in a Dash 6 or SR20. The Piaggio P180, Pilatus PC-12 and the Citation X are their aircraft of choice, so let’s not disappoint them. This is an open invitation to all pilots no matter what your flying experience to attend this Canadian Xpress® sponsored event that will be flown on the VATSIM network.More information regarding this event including operational details, charts, optional add-on scenery and the Canadian Xpress® SB Model Set can be viewed by visiting www.CanadianXpress.ca or by directly downloading our Fly-In document here.See you all on Saturday the 22nd!
  15. Try FSEconomy: http://www.fseconomy.com/
  16. There is also another VA called KeyStone as well: http://www.keystoneairlines.com/
  17. Nice to see another Canadian VA some aboard.Lots of success guys!
  18. Installed the latest hotfix and haven't had any new issues. Seems that performance is a bit better, but other than that can't say I have noticed much of a difference. Still issues with a sever frame rate drop when active sky is updating using Standard depiction (Direct causes the aircraft to go way off course). Hopefully will see something in SP1. Other than that, the 737NGX is a pleasure to fly.
  19. Not all airports have precision approaches therefore the runways will not be listed in the GPS. In this case, you would have to fly a visual approach.
  20. Your best bet is to get Pete Dawson's FSUIPC.dll It will enable you to cusomize your Saitek Controls as you wish and you can even go to the point of customizing it individually for each aircraft.
  21. Canadian Xpress® would like to invite all pilots to join us for our September fly-in where we will fly to the highest commercial airport in the world.Bangda which is located in Bangda, Tibet, has an elevation of 14,219 ft and its runway 14/32 is the longest public runway in the world at 18,045 ft or 3.42 miles. The low air density at this altitude makes a higher takeoff & landing airspeed necessary, thus why there is a longer runway.Departing from Zia International (VGZR), Dhaka, Bangladesh, the former finish line of the world famous Paris to Dhaka rally, we will follow standard IFR routing and climb from 26 feet above sea level to land in Bangda (ZUBD) at over 14,000 feet above sea level. The second leg of the event will follow a China Airways flight route to the only real world destination serviced from Bangda (ZUBD), a quick 45min flight to Lhasa (ZULS).This is an open invitation to all pilots no matter what your flying experience to attend this Canadian Xpress® sponsored event that will be flown on the VATSIM network.More information regarding this event including operational details, charts, optional add-on scenery and the Canadian Xpress® SB Model Set can be viewed by visiting www.CanadianXpress.ca or by directly downloading our Fly-In document here.See you all on Saturday the 17th!
