  1. Yes for the PMDG MD11. It is a great aircraft, well modeled and fun to fly!
  2. I would agree that v1.0 was horrible on framerates however I have noticed a dramatic improvement with v1.02.One thing you can try is to lower your Autogen to Dense and Water to Low 2X. There will still be plenty of eye candy and the performance is very good.
  3. I have been a long time Active Sky user and IMHO has a much better weather engine that REX, however, REX does have better graphics.Looks like Active Sky 2012, may have improved graphics that will bring it closer to REX. I will certainly give it a go.@nudata: Yes Flight will be out in the spring, but before any software, addons, scenery, etc. are at the same level as FSX, you are talking about years.
  4. I tried the auto tweaker and was not at all happy with the results.Used Nick's tweaks and even though you have to do the tweaks manually, the results are outstanding!
  5. Canadian Xpress® would like to invite all pilots to join us on Sunday, December 18th, 2011 at 20h00est (01h00z) for our for our December 2011 Fly-In where we will fly in Northern Ontario and up to Moosonee, the Gateway to the Arctic.Departing from Sudbury (CYSB), we will fly north to Moosonee (CYMO). Aircraft such as the PC12, B190, AT72, JS31, JS41, etc. are ideal for this flight.Sudbury is the largest city Northern Ontario (population of 160,000 in 2006) and has more lakes than any other municipality in Canada. The Sudbury Basin is a remnant of a 1.85 billion year old meteorite impact. Nickel, copper, gold, silver and other metals are mined by such companies as Inco, Vale, FNX, NCS and Cline. Sudbury is also the home of the Big Nickel and Super Stack.Moosonee (population 3,500) also known as the Gateway to the Arctic, is located 12 nm south of James Bay and is Ontario’s only saltwater port and is part of NORAD's Pinetree line. There are no roads leading up to Moosonee therefore it is serviced by rail, water and of course by air by such airlines as Air Creebec and Thunder Airline. This is an open invitation to all pilots no matter what your flying experience to attend this Canadian Xpress® sponsored event that will be flown on the VATSIM network.More information regarding this event including operational details, charts, optional add-on scenery and the Canadian Xpress® SB Model Set can be viewed by visiting www.CanadianXpress.ca or by directly downloading our Fly-In document here.See you all on Sunday the 18th!
  6. You can also try sending an e-mail to info@navigraph.com
  7. This is usually a sign that your video card is overtaxed. You can lower your FSX settings a bit or a lot of the times, if this happens, simply go to Options, Display Settings and then click OK and everything should return to normal.
  8. Be careful with the Westjet name and logos! The RW WestJet as closed down several VAs that were using the logos, etc. There is currently a WestJet VA http://www.virtualwestjet.org/ that does have an agreement with the RW WestJet Airlines. You may want to get in touch with them and see if there are some opportunities for an alliance.Blue Skies,

    Recommend me a VA

There are tons of Virtual Airlines out there.Your best bet would to visit a VA directory like VACentral or Virtual Airline List and from there you can browse through the different virtual airlines and pick a couple you like and try them out and eventually you will narrow it down to one.Happy Hunting!
  10. There are 13 pages regarding the topic, but it is discussed on the 12th page.http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=48819&start=165

  12. In reading the VATSIM forums, the development is well under way and the first beta should be ready by sometime early next year.So hang there!
  13. I have always flown for a VA most because it is a community within it self and you meet some great people and it is nice to fly online with other pilots.
  14. Follow Canadian Xpress® on twitter at @CANADIANXPRESS so that you are up to date on the latest Canadian Xpress® news, events, bulletins, announcements and other useful information.
  15. Install SP1 & SP2 as there are numerous bug fixes and performance improvements and check to see if DX10 is enabled. If so try disabling it.
  16. When you installed it, did you right click the setup.exe and select Run As Administrator?
  17. There are not many. Two that come to mind are:VACentral http://vacentral.net/airlines which basically ranks VAs on the number of flights they do based on their ratio of pilots.Virtual Airline List: http://www.va-list.com/ which ranks VAs based on the number of visitor votes. There are perhaps others, but the question is how do you rate whether a VA is good or not as opinions vary between on person to another: Some prefer real-world routes Some prefer VAs that do not have fixed routes Some prefer VAs that have lots of events Some prefer VAs that do not have events etc. As what constitutes as a good VA varies so much, it is hard to come up with a good VA rating structure.Your best bet is to register with a couple of VAs that you like, try them out and eventually you will find one that suits your needs.
  18. Hi Brian,I seem to recall that you are a member of our VA which means you can sign up for online training on the JS41. See pilots handbook for more details.Regards,
  19. With 2012 quickly approaching, the Canadian Xpress® 2012 calendar is now available which features a variety of Canadian Xpress® aircraft that are in our fleet. Print on 81/2 X 11 inch paper on any color printer and you have your own Canadian Xpress® 2012 calendar.Click here to download the Canadian Xpress® 2012 calendar or click the CXA 2012 Calendar link that is available via the Downloads menu at http://CanadianXpress.ca .
  20. My personal favorite is AiviaSoft EFB. In addition to giving ILS frequencies it also reads displays all the charts, etc. for an airport. It is payware, but well worth it.
  21. Indeed great news.FSX will be around long after the release of Flight for one good reason. Availability of addons.Lets take FSX for example. It was over 2 years before we started seeing any decent payware / freeware addons for FSX simply because of the changes in which scenery, aircraft, etc. are developed. It takes quite some time to learn how to develop these great addons that we all love.
  22. Find this in the contact section at the bottom of their web site:webmaster@airberlinva.deSend them an e-mail and I am sure someone will respond to your request.Regards,
  23. Every Monday Starting at 19h00est (24h00z) Until Whenever• Just had that hard day at work?• Does the Monday Night Football game feature two lousy teams?• Do you want a great ATC filled event? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then come fly in the Moncton/Gander FIR's weekly event, Moncton Mondays on the VATSIM network! Each Monday, several airports including Halifax (CYHZ) & Moncton (CYQM) will be staffed within the FIR from top to bottom along with Moncton Center to provide you with a fun and laid back Monday event. All kinds of traffic are welcome and pilots of all skill levels are invited.http://MonctonFIR.com
  24. Funny to see all that modern film equipment next to such an old aircraft. :)
  25. I had this issue as well, however since installing SP1 for the NGX, I now see traffic in EFB. I don't know about IVAO, but I can confirm traffic is visible on VATSIM. I do have Active Sky Evolution and the EFB Display Unit running on a secondary PC.
