  1. Any further development on support for these products for the OSX platforms? -Brian
  2. Playing with Flight fo a couple of days and reading this forum, I'm still not sure: Are there ANY navigation controls in Flight? I bought the Maule to get the Autopilot but it doesn't function. How do you do ILS approaches, set headings, etc.?? Is there some sort of manual?ThanksBrian
  3. I thought I had seen an X-Plane forum here but I cannot see one listed. What's the scoop?bdenley
  4. I see nothing at all insulting or untoward in his comments. Maybe we just don't take criticism of MS well?Brian
  5. Geofa:Why do you say that? Aces has stated that they are done with FSX. Vista is (so far) an unmitigated disaster; PC Magazine has an article on the Vista 'death watch' in the latest issue. It doesn't seem that there are any fixes on the horizon for Vista or FSXBrian
  6. Sorry Phil but if you go back and read that blog, it's all in code-speak. I couldn't decipher it then and I can't after re-reading it. I am quite computer literate (and MSFS experienced) but that discussion still baffles me.Is FSX-SP2 DX10 if I have Vista and a 8800 GTX? All that talk about magic screenies didn't answer my question at all. I did finally find the DX10 Preview button but the game still sets Vista graphics back to Vista Basic when it starts. I thought you stated that that was going to be fixed. Did I misunderstand? Why is it called DX10 'preview'? What the heck does that mean (in English please)? I am not complaining - just trying very hard to understand. Could you perhaps take the time to clarify this without the codespeak? Thanks in advance!Brian
  7. What is this DX10 preview stuff? I have a DX10 graphics card (8800GTX). Is Acceleration DX10 or not? I haven't seen any DX10 preview button. Where is that? Why is it a "preview"? Phil?Brian
  8. Yeah..at the first hint of anyone voicing the slightest criticism.....out come the standard cheerleaders assuring us that we are the only ones having any issues. THEY have great frame rates and, in any case, the sim is smooth a silk even at 7 fps and..blah, blah, blah.
  9. I am encouraged! Maybe this 4 Gb quad Vista box (and 8800GTX) will let me run FXS with reasonable performnace after all! I have be pretty glum about it lately but Aces has me excited again. Thanks to Phil and the Aces team for their hard work. I am looking forward to the Oct 27th releasw.
  10. Sadly for some of us, that new 'monster' Vista system is still reduced to a slug by (even the SP1) FSX. I can't tell you how discouraging that has been. I spent $6K+ for one reason: to be able to play FSX is style! It's tough to face the fact that this system never will allow that. You might want to wait a year or two until a much faster system comes out. Vista and DX10 won't help much as yet.
  11. Why hurry? It's only been there about a year now.
  12. Talk about hype! I especially loved the part where they brag about the great frame rates on older computers. Yeah right.
  13. What is a 'patch EXE' ?
  14. Phil:What full screen patch for Vista? You mentioned some Vista patch (though you didn't say what it was for) on your blog but I can't find any patch that my Vista (Home premium) will accept. Are there specific MSFS Vista patches?Brian
  15. I cannot believe there was ANYONE who seriously believed DX10 would look anything like that (obviously faked)half- photo / half graphic. How many times do we have to debunk that fake screenshot?
