Ray, I recently decided to check out P3Dv3 and XP10v45, so I installed a second 1TB HD dedicated for them alone. I also have an over abundance of FSX addons, and found most of the developers provided P3D installers or they used dual sim installers. However, some of the older ones did not, but there are helpful tips on how to transfer over to P3D (e.g. SunSkyJet KPHL and some from FlyTampa), I was also able to transfer my FSGenesis Scenery Mesh without any issues. Here in the P3D forum, Poppet has some really good guides. As far as scenery (airports), I use Scenery Config Editor to add them to the P3D scenery.cfg file once I've transferred it over. Great tool! I really like Prepar3D and prefer to fly it with my PMDG a/c. I still use FSX some as I have almost all my airports set up with AES & GSX, keeping operations very busy at my departure and arrival gates. At this point, only GSX is compatible with P3D. I also have Radar Contact 4, PF3 and ProATC-X that work both in FSX and P3D. It was quite a bit of work, time consuming, but worth it. I kept a list of what I wanted to install and checked it off as I went and noted if there were any glitches or issues. Wish you all the best in your decision(s) and getting it done.

Manny, Have not tried to view in Slew mode. 99% of my flights are with smartCARS for a VA. Don't know if going into slew mode would affect acars but I won't risk it. I normally stay in the cockpit, anyway and have very rarely slewed in complex a/c (PMDG), as they can be unpredictable in slew mode. Shots 2 & 3 were done to display the textures, not wave animations.

Flew a return flight KSFO - KMIA and took a few pics once I was over water. Late afternoon shots: Images totally original, no touch ups, etc. courtesy of REX4 TD. Hope they look as good on here as they do on my pc. Edited to add - they look better if you click on each image and view in opened window.

Michael, I'm using Global Water Set 15 - Dark - Shallow Coral, and Wave Animation Set 06 - Glimmer.

I've had very good success with Rex4 TD build .0622 water and waves in P3D V3.3.5. In fact, they look better in P3D than FSX using the same Rex settings. I just flew a flight from KMIA (LatinVFR 3.1) to KSFO (FB) and the water and wave animation at both departure and arrival were very nice, similar to the better images posted above. Unfortunately, I failed to take any screen shots, not knowing I would be posting here. Here are my REX4 TD+SC settings for P3D: I have a mediocre system and these settings work well for me. YMMV.

Don't know if this will be of any help but FSUIPC 4.955g is the most current version. Perhaps someone with more knowledge can chime in and indicate whether it would correct any of the issues you are experiencing. Also, have you inquired at the LM P3D forum?

No login access in the "About Us" section, at least I don't see it anywhere. I did find a login button in the "Flight Center" section but guest entered as both id and pw creates this error message: Pilot number or password is incorrect.

Yes, they do exist. I just did a quick web search and found them available for purchase from Amazon, Aerosoft and FSPilot Shop. The are not at discounted prices, but you get a great product, none the less. Just saying, they are still available if someone wants them bad enough.

I am attempting just the opposite - comparing RC4 and PF3. Have owned RC4 for a long time, and just purchased PF3 the other day. Really like RC4 but it has shortcomings with SID and STAR vectoring depending on how close.the first waypoint is from dep rwy. Thought I'd give PF3 a try since it seems similar in ways but more flexible. Time will tell.

No, unfortunately that is the only snag with RC4, if you build the plan without SID/STAR and then export the plan to FSX, you will not receive the vectors for SID/STAR, you will be vectored based on the initial and last waypoint from the loaded flight plan. That is why I use FSBuild - soley so RC4 will have the SID and STAR waypoints included in the plan for RC4 to vector. By the way - RC4 uses the same flight plan that is exported for FSX, in case you were wondering. Also, RC4 rarely if ever misses the vectors to get you accurately to the localizer on arrival.

Radar Contact does not have voice control, as well. It also works fine with waypoints, SIDs/STARs and vectored departures/approaches. It all is based on how you set it up, the fllight plan created by, for example, FSBuild. If you use PFPX for your planner and say a detailed FMC as in PMDG or AS Airbuses, you will only get the standard plan and use your FMC to insert SID/STARS. However, PFPX will not include waypoints for SID/STAR selections. Hope this helps. RC4 is a very fine ATC addon that is time tested, IMHO.

And don't install FSX to default folder in "\Programs (x86)\". This can save some issues cropping up as well. Always best to set to run as administrator and make sure UAC is shut down and turn off your AV/spyware programs as well when installing and running FSX to test. Have not had much time to fly and run any tests. Just a few times running FS9 and starting at KPHL to see if it happened again. Have not had a problem yet.Hope that solves it as it was the one and only time I've every had the Visualfx.dll CTD.

Yes, they are the Fx_PHL_Deice.fx, deice2.fx & helired.fxDon't really miss them, so for me, it was worth removing.

Did you by chance recently install the new KPHL scenery and add the missing fx files (I think there were 3) provided from the sunskyjet forum?I got the same CTD error and have not had a recurrence since I removed those 3 files.FWIW.Cheers & hope you get it solved.

An FYI for AES users.Airport Enhancement Services 2 has been released by Aerosoft.It includes the recently released Imaginesim KSJC and FSDT KLAS. :(
