  1. I fail to see how dimensions can be such a critical item (PMDG don't appear to be way off) for a PC sim when graphics resolution vary from system to system. I don't notice a DRASTIC difference and to me, if it is solely the captains window size being a bit different in size between the two, that is being quoted and having a finger pointed to, well, I must admit, it is no where near as big of a difference compared to vc quality. YMMV.
  2. I'm really surprised there are so many who feel the iFly 737NG vc looks as good as the PMDG NGX vc. I just can't see the similarities, as IMHO PMDG vc is far better in appearance and 3d detail (knobs & switches). I have had both PMDG & iFly 737's since FS2004 and have the iFly P3Dv4 version to tide me over until PMDG releases theirs.
  3. I'm having a problem where I run Makerwys 4.82 in P3Dv4 root directory, but RC4 is not seeing the updated runways at FSDT KORD (eg 28/10). P3Dv4 sees the afcad and all the runways. I have latest version of Loorby's Addon Manager installed and it sees the two addon airports I've added so far (FSDT KORD & KDFW). However, the Rwys.txt file in the P3Dv4 root directory does not show the updated runways. Anyone have this problem? Also, anyone know which file RC4 reads for the runway data, perhaps Rwys.txt? Thanks. Edited 6/30/17 @ 1353Z: Please disregard, I thought I had v4.82 but instead discovered it was v4.80. Using Makerwys v4.82 solved the problem. All is well!
  4. Very happy to have this and the standard Duke B60 v2 installed and running extremely well, thanks to this thread! This works so well, I thought I'd see if I could get the Milviz B55/E55 to work, and yep, they do! Just took a bit of identifying and fixing the E55 panel & sound cfg aliasing.
  5. I have FSX, P3Dv3.4 and P3Dv4 installed on different drives on my pc. I've preferred active jetways where available and it really doesn't matter if it is ctrl+j or Sode activated. Mainly, for realism purposes. I like my a/c to be as realistic as possible (PMDG, TFDi, LevelD) and the airports/scenery and jetways would also fall into that preferred level as well (FSDT, Flight Beam, ImaginSim (KATL), LatinVFR, Tropicalsim, FlyTampa, et al). I'm slowly going to migrate totally over to P3Dv4 as it matures along with all the addons. So I'll have many airports that probably will have active jetways and some that won't. If they don't, I can live with it, have been doing so for some time.
  6. Are those textures from a livery downloaded and installed from within Operations Center?
  7. Ah, forgot to RTFM for FSUIPCv5. Guess I was thinking v4 which I have printed and in a binder nearby. Doh!!! Thanks for the input!
  8. I had an excellent experience with P3Dv4 flying the A2A C172, using ENVTEX, PTA, Active Sky 4, and Radar Contact 4, from Memphis KNQA Millington to KHOT Hot springs. Smooth as silk!!! The only problem I had (nothing major) was the RC4 window was a semitransparent green. Anyone experience this? If so, any way to make it purely transparent like it is in P3Dv3.4 and FSX? I have FSUIPC5 and posted the question over at Pete Dawson's forum as well. P3Dv4 is going to keep getting better and better as time progresses and more addons get up to speed with 64bit. Clear skies!
  9. Dynamic lighting is spectacular, especially in that scenery. My favorite (although I really like them all), is the top down view of EDLW. Well done to LM and the creator of the above scenery!
  10. They have a message up on their forums that they are experiencing server problems and are attempting to correct. Have been able to get into the forums on several occasions, but unsuccessful more often.
  11. You could uses ADE1.70 (Airport Design Editor) from ScruffyDuck Software or later versions at FSDeveloper (http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/forums/airport-design-editor.95/) You can pull up the airport bgl and list parking to see all available parking spots/gates, sizes, etc. You can also orient your airport chart/diagram with the ADE layout and mark your gate(s) and note specific taxi ways you need to traverse to get there from different runways. I find ADE to be a very handy tool for such things besides modifying airport bgls.
  12. The part about tv compatibility got me to thinking, I'm already using a 40" Samsung LED TV as my monitor, so there is no need for tv compatibility. I guess that is why I have not noted a difference as of yet. Any thoughts on this beside my own?
  13. I am about to purchase P3Dv4 and once I get it set up, plan on purchasing Global Base Pack and openLC North America as the first addons. Then I will proceed with different 3rd party airport scenery and PMDG a/c. My question: How much impact does Global Base Pack and openLC North America have on your P3Dv4 system? Thanks.
  14. Probably best to post your issues and request over at the HIFI AS2016 forum since your are using a beta version. Since you indicate you had the same problems with P3Dv3, to me that indicates most likely an issue in your setup in AS2016 (assume that is the version since you failed to mention in your post) and/or P3D. You need to indicate what your system is, and give a lot of details regarding your setups in order to obtain some help.
  15. This is some really great information. Looks like I'm going to take the plunge. Going to do some reading and re-reading on all the tips for installing and addons. Thanks to all who provided input. Cheers!
  16. I'm considering purchasing P3Dv4 but am curious how much more it will tax my system than v3.4 does. I have a mid level pc, windows 10, GTX 750ti 4gb vram, 16gb ram. With most sliders mid high right, I get 16-30 fps with PMDG NGX, FSDT, IS KATL, Ultimate Traffic 2+Tootings Super Duper UT2/WOAI traffic. If there is a bigger hit by V4, I guess I'll have to wait until an eventual PC upgrade. Those that have upgraded from V3.4, can you enlighten me on your observations between the two? Thanks.
  17. Finally, a 757 study level a/c. This one should really attract a lot of sim pilots. Thanks for finding and posting this news.
  18. That's great. Thanks, Johnny! Looks like I'll be getting this one pretty soon.
  19. Looks like they have pushed the bar up several notches with this product. Curious how frame rates are for P3Dv3 version.
  20. What is legal about that? You are participating in a form of software piracy by sharing this product.
  21. For offline flying, I highly recommend Pro-ATC/X and PF3. They both have their pluses and minuses, and differ a bit. Pro-ATC/X has the advantage of better voices/more realistic sounding as I notice some PF3 voices get rather robotic sounding. The only thing I do not like about Pro-ATC/X is their choice of leaving out "Center" in the phrasing, such as "contact New York on ###.##" instead of "contact New York Center..." Minor annoyance to me, as it is my choice at present. Do some research and hope you enjoy your choice. I am also interested in UT Live. Looking mighty good. Wonder how much impact it will have on my system. Cheers.
  22. Many people probably overlook the fact that P3D was not created and is not developed as an eye candy game for the general public to enjoy. I don't believe LM cares what the general public consensus is about P3D. They (LM) have a totally different mission/goal. Therein lies the difference in further development. Who cares that there are so many nay sayers out there in social media land trying to tear apart P3Dv4. They have their right to free speech. However, I take a stand when they come into the P3D forum and do so, with little to no consideration, no respect for where they are telling their tale. Really, it is a shame that people will stoop so low. It is so easy to hide behind a monitor and keyboard and blast away. So many these days are self proclaimed subject matter experts because of the internet/world wide web. I just don't get it. Life is too short. Flying a PMDG 737ngx/777 or 747 in P3D is just too much fun for me to see it their way. So sad they try to take everyone else down to their level.
