  1. Finally we're going to get the Woodpigeon! But I won't be buying an A380.
  2. Wow, it's a long time since I had to reticulate the splines on any system but I hope it was followed by Aligning the Covariance Matrices or you may find that it fails to Lock the Back-Buffer
  3. Will the failures routine include toilet blockages? If not then nobody will buy it and PMDG will go down the pan.
  4. Your situation is very different to mine (you're loading all sorts of stuff like GSX that I don't) and as mentioned I never suffer from the issue during normal flights, I was only testing when I found it and it failed every time, predictably, with fresh starts, loading saved situiations, resets etc etc. In any case it's a bit of a red herring it seems. Testing the same scenario yesterday produced no error at all. So since I just don't get it on my usual flying escapades I'm going to forget it for now.
  5. Good idea! No, RAAS is totally disabled on my system (module removed from DLL.XML).
  6. As mentioned previously, I and several others have never seen this child window problem - until yesterday when I discovered a situation where I can trigger it, every single time, and it's very strange. I've done loads of test flights trying to see if I'll ever suffer from it with no issue. I had total confidence that I'm 'clean' until I loaded the 777 on the threshold of 33 at EGBB and it threw the error creating child window! So I tried it again and it failed again. I tried runway 15 with no problem, I tried numerous different parts of the airport and found it only fails when loading at the very southern end of the airport when facing parallel to or on 33. Most odd. The NGX and 744 are fine there but the 777 is guaranteed to suffer. So, all my flights and locations have been fine and I still have complete confidence but I do now have a perfect test for any alleged fix. Very weird and I don't have a clue as to why just that small area is a problem
  7. I and a number of people I fly with have still never seen this issue. PMDG said it was affecting a "subset" of people but thus far I can't spot what that subset have in common! Does anyone know? One thought crossed my mind - I always have FS in windowed mode. Does anyone who uses windowed mode experience the child window problem?
  8. Also keep an eye on the wind. There's a heckuva big sail on the back of the plane which can cause wonky taxying when the wind is blowing a bit.
  9. Yes, on this flight I deliberately changed the time on a couple of occasions because people had said it was an issue. I also recalibrated my joystick and generally used the menus more than I normally would as a test. Again no problem at all. I can't explain it but mine just doesn't seem to be affected FYI this is running with AS16, FSC9, FSinn connected to Vatsim, in-house VA Acars, TS3 in the background and lots of scenery. All running on one machine.
  10. 2.5 hours with the 777 and FSX under 1709 today and, like I found with the NGX, no problems at all (apart from a dodgy pilot). This clearly doesn't affect everyone.
  11. No issues at all with 1709 and the NGX with FSX! Some test flights today during which I deliberately messed around with menus, opening and closing multiple windows and stuff and it just worked, no problems at all. I was fully expecting problems but none to be found. I should add "so far".
  12. Open a ticket with Support and they'll reset your activations. Simples.
  13. Most likely one of Robert's wind-ups and they're all sitting there giggling right now.
  14. It's wrong on all mine. The correct spelling is "Centre" , Her Majesty says so.
  15. I grew up watching VC10's and later my father lived under the Brize approach so one could sit in his garden and have one's ears assaulted regularly. It was of course the fastest subsonic airliner ever built and nothing else has ever come close to it in that. Gorgeous plane, staggering performance and very much missed.
  16. We've waited far too long for the Woodpigeon after (in true forum style) "PMDG promised" it would be released. As a result of this unacceptable delay I will never buy another PMDG product, the company will fold, the world will enter recession, Glamorgan will win the County Championship and the Browns the Superbowl. I hope this helps.
  17. I was seeing these leaks with latest NVidia drives and rolled back to .53 (which I'm still running) BUT was still seeing VAS vanishing progressively over time, almost as much as it was with the latest drivers. After much experimentation I nailed this "other leak" to down clouds, nothing else. I was running some old textures from an old version of AS, replacing these with 512 textures from Rex4 not only significantly improved my base VAS usage but also cut the progressive leaking of VAS to a mere dribble. I'm now completing flights with 6-800mb more VAS than before and/or avoiding reboots on really long flights. Moral of the story - leaks are not just caused by NVidia drivers. Have a look at your cloud textures too!
  18. It's inside the 747. Remember Kyle's Pigeon sig? It's a Woodpigeon inside the 747F
  19. Brilliant stuff. PMDG looking after us ageing metal heads. Forget all your BA's and VS's and stuff. this is the one
  20. As usual with Robert's updates, I'm looking at the a/c in the background and wondering what it is. Not that they've ever sneaked things into such preview shots before
  21. On redownloading the latest installers for the NGX I opened up the readme files (yes, I know that's an odd thing to do ) and spotted a rather nice typo which is a very Freudian slip considering the added complication (for PMDG) of the Steam release. There at the top of the Release Notes is a little one liner that simply says: "FSX-SE COMPLAINT FSX-SE" Nice one!
  22. The 757 is also HUGELY fun to fly thanks to being somewhat overpowered!
  23. I believe they overcame the B & S problem by using ATCO aero but adjusting the visuals to match B & S. The real issue was that they were struggling to accurately model the friction coefficient of the grass found in southern England which is more suited to the seam characteristics of the Duke cricket ball than for cylinder mower drag simulation.
  24. The simple answer to the question is: if you're given a frequency of 118.625 then just tune 118.62 and it will work. Simples. NB: As any Google search will confirm, I used to be the Director of the CIA. No security issues there then
  25. and not all volcanoes produce anti-aircraft ash! Gawd, the movies I've seen with impossible volcanoes in them....
