  1. Besides the above, I use it mainly on approach, esp in xwinds. The thing I hate is when you put in the footbrakes, sometimes (maybe because of calibration issues) it'll pick up one and not the other so you start slewing either left or right. Still though...wouldn't go without it.
  2. yeah I know...but there's ALWAYS room for Qantas!! :(
  3. Qantas and Virgin Australia (please :))
  4. just my $0.02 worth....use FSINN instead of SB4....much much better.
  5. remember, a lot of the posters on here are the ones with issues. sure there's a few but its a forum, not a census. remember the Pareto principle ie. the 80/20 rule which you can apply to a lot of things eg. 80% of the posts on this forum come from 20% of the posters and vice versa. Think about the customers who AREN'T posting and are actually ENJOYING the product!! oh and I 'like' the PMDG 737 NGX :) (I could say love but that just wouldn't be proper, but you know what I mean).
  6. i too have had this problem and usually reset the distance to 30 or something before manually stopping it. the worse part is that, on pushback, I'm busy starting my engines so by the time I look outside I'm on the grass!! Would be great if this was fixed.
  7. Hi Jay I didn't know there was a refreshing option...might check that out first. I use the CH manager software to calibrate the CH hardware - anything else just doesn't work (esp FSUIPC). Thanks for the tip - I'd rather try here first rather than bother the PMDG guys with a ticket, unless ofcourse it doesn't help me.
  8. Hi guys I'm raising it here before I raise a ticket in case someone's resolved this. O/S: Win 7 64 bit, Core2Duo E6600hardware: Ch pro yoke, multi throttle and rudderother software running with FSX: REX, VAFS (not always), FSINN (not always), registered FSUIPC but not used for mapping Issue:On starting FSX, I load up the default cessna, then I jump into the PMDG 737 NGX. However, the left throttle will NOT move. I can do everything, including starting the engines, etc. N1 goes up to approx 20.5% and stays. I can move the right throttle. Sometimes the left throttle WILL move, however the engine doesn't inc or dec - it just stays at 20.5%. Current fix:I have to load up the NGX, then load the default cessna, THEN load the NGX again for it to work which is a pain in the proverbial. Does anyone have any solutions for this? I thought loading up the default cessna would resolve this but no dice. Thanks
  9. what do you do to get those landing lights? do you need to add shockwave lights to your CFG file? for me, the landing lights don't show up much.
  10. excellent video...I've been in that seat (we all have) many times - it just amazes me how close to reality it is from a 'virtual' passenger perspective...ie. the flaps, the gentle turns, the sounds (including the shudder)...very well done video. The ONLY thing that I realise the NGX doesn't have (as far as I can see and this is being nitpicky) is the usual shaking/shuddering of the flap pylon thingys (the white things that extend out under the flaps) when they're out. man this NGX is good eh? :)
  11. hey guys here you go...the beautiful Air Pacific Boeing 737-800 DQ-FJG Can someone please paint her?
  12. hey mate, someone actually did one and posted it on avsim. I was looking for something else and found it! looks awesome, but you have to install the old fashioned way. Still waiting for Air Pacific.
  13. someone's going to mention it eventually so I thought I'd beat them to it....in the release program is a certain woodpidgeon! :)
  14. hey mate I found the answer....you have to load up the default cessna or some other aircraft BEFORE you load the NGX. I had the same issue and figured out, through one of the responses, that you should reload a diff a/c before the NGX...this ensures everything is loaded correctly in the sim. Haven't had an issue since. ps. I use the ch pro quad throttle and the left engine was disconnected from the throttle control. Hope that works for you too.
  15. errr....can anyone paint an Air Pacific livery? also a Pacific Blue livery (Pac Blue is the Virgin Blue arm based in NZ which flies NZ dom and around the pacific for VB). then I can rest easy :)
  16. Carenado are doing a KingAir C90 I think it is....no sense more than one company doing it but hey thats just me :) *edit* would a user purchase both given they're sort of similar? maybe....
  17. whats that thing hanging off the end of the tail?
  18. Paul, yes I did take the time to read the instructions manual, but I didn't memorise it. Don't assume we're all newbies who jump in the NGX, hit Ctrl E and away we go. I always run pushback from the CDU as well as the load manager. Having said that, there's a lot to cover and sometimes all I need is a straight answer to resolve the one or two issues that I do have.
  19. Thanks Dan - not sure about the wheel chocks - are they on by default?
  20. Okay here goes: First, the problem: - twice now, I've started up the NGX (all good...have done about 10 flights so far so I sorta know what I'm doing) however the left engine (which is running and at an N1 of 20% I think) will NOT increase or decrease. I use the CH pro multithrottle and have tried moving the throttle up (which actually moves ingame) however the engine is stuck at 20%. Any ideas? the right engine is fine. The last time this happened as well, it was just after pushback. its like it disconnected from the actual throttle. Last time I fixed it by restarting the engine which worked...this time it didn't so had to reload the panel and start from scratch. Second, I notice that I cannot take off the parking brake unless I pushback. Even though in game I push the parking brake handle (and it releases), the message still remains. Not sure if an FSX issue or something. Thirdly, my question: What numbers should I input in the pushback area for a standard pushback? I notice the default is quite long and I end up having to stop it. Just looking for some standard numbers (doesn't have to be perfect given the different parking positions). Thanks guys
  21. definitely want the -700. most of the actual a/c used on the routes I like to fly (Virgin Aust, Air Pac, etc) are the -700 with WL. so bring it on baby!! :) actually, I wouldn't mind the paintkit to go with that as well.
  22. Thanks guys I was flying YSSY-YPAD using the following flightplan: YSSY KAT H44 MAXEM Q60 BLACK YPAD. I chose the BLACK9A STAR for a straight in to Rwy 23. Cruised at FL340. I normally don't touch the FMC during descent. I remember having this problem once whilst I was still in 4x speed - I'm assuming this causes a problem as well? oh and I had REX active as my wx program. There was some wild weather at YSSY on dep but not at YPAD from memory.
  23. hi all I've been having a few problems with VNAV in that it seems to be calculating the TOD too late, then starting the descent and giving me an 'Unable to maintain descent profile' or something like that. I've been left high and dry quite a few times now because of this. Is there any way to correct this? my altitudes are usually between FL320 and FL360. I think the problem comes in the STAR requirements eg. above 9000, below 6000 etc. As soon as the bird realises it can't make the descent it levels off. :(
