  1. Phew!! Got there in the end ... great news! For your penance ... 35 Hail Mary's plus Addons Linker 🙂
  2. I'm a huge fan of the Linker - and wrote up a "procedures" guide, describing ways to set up all your addon files and locations etc. Like many computer tasks, if done sensibly right at the beginning they can save you lots of time in the future. The document has a section at the end to do with troubleshooting/debugging. https://flightsim.to/file/14298/msfs-addons-linker-general-procedure
  3. This may sound like a troll ... but it's often my stock reply to Community folder related problems. Do yourself a huge favour and use Addons Linker. It really helps to keep your Community addons in control - allowing you to easily enable/disable blocks of addons so narrowing down the culprit can be quite quick. Sounds like one of your sceneries may be clashing with that latest update.
  4. Check to see if there's drive activity when this happens - probably as it loads all the additional data for the airport. What fixed it for me was: 1) Checking that your power profile was set to high performance. 2) Disabling any unused sound devices in Device Manager. 3) Dropping to a lower resolution sound profile (to CD in my case).
  5. The new site is a total disaster - failing in so many ways that it's laughable. I'm a Web Developer in my day job and would rate this new site layout 1/10 overall - compared to 9/10 for the old layout.
  6. Same here (3.1.1) ... installed via the Linker. No problems with the scenery (superb!!!).
  7. Like many computer-related procedures, I think the benefit grows with time. If you ever feel you you to give it another go, you might like to browse the procedure/documentation I cobbled together a fair while back: https://flightsim.to/file/14298/msfs-addons-linker-general-procedure The document may be slightly outdated now, but the methodology is pretty well the same. Apart from the obvious advantage of not over-bloating your Community folder, it's a great tool for debugging clashes between addons - and for keeping the physical locations of your addon files in sensible, ordered places. I could go on, but I think you get the picture, LOL!
  8. A fresh install gives you a great opportunity to re-organise the way you use all your add-ons (sceneries included). Save yourself a whole heap of grief by using [the amazing] Addons Linker from day one. You'll soon get the hang of it - and it'll give you complete control of everything as you gradually build up all your myriad add-ons. I've been using it since day one and can't imagine running MSFS without it - especially as I'm rather cash-strapped so have to rely on hundreds of freeware scenery, aircaft and liveries.
  9. BUMP(!I). I'm having the same issue with the BS Bonanza - using Saitek/Logitech X56 throttle with Axis & Ohs (whereas I used FSUIPC religiously). This combination works well for every other aircraft I own.
  10. Can you remeber what that "right moment" was? I'd like to give it a try! Do you have a link (or name) for that tool on flightsim.to? I can't seem to find anything like it 😉 Found it! https://flightsim.to/file/27871/flight-simulator-2020-profile-reset-tools
  11. Does MSFS re-download the old profiles from the cloud when you do that (genuine question)?
  12. I used to have an X-52 but now have an X-56 (though I think both are a little flaky). I've had all sorts of issues with them in MSFS (though they both performed well in FSX, P3D and XP11/12). There's something decidely shonky about MSFS and Saitek gear. I ended up getting Lorby's AAO's to sort the mess out. It gives you much more control - and it's easier to work out what may be going wrong. My setup works fine, but the MSFS calibration GUI still refuses to display the axes correctly (sometimes the visual sliders don't appear at all!!). The problem is that whatever you do locally, MSFS ends up re-downloading a [possibly corrupt] set of profiles from the cloud. It's totally bonkers. Thank goodness I have AAO.
  13. My WWII Warbird choices would be (in descending order): 1) Mosquito 2) Lancaster 3) Blenheim 4) Hawker Typhoon 5) Vickers Wellington 6) Westland Lysander 7) Avro Anson
  14. Quoted from: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/command-line-parameter-to-start-the-sim-in-safe-mode/535418/2 If you drop an empty file called running.lock in this directory, before starting the sim, MSFS will prompt you to use safe mode. This is for MS Store version, not sure what it would be for Steam. C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\running.lock
  15. I'm also getting the deaded white boxes - albeit intermittently. Epic fail. Since this "update" I'm also getting much more stuttering and my ATR72-600 PFDs freeze (permanently) if the sim is paused for any length of time. Grrrrrr ....
  16. They may have been hacked - and have only just restored the site from some previous backup and haven't had the time to fully update it yet.
  17. All I get (after doing the Captcha) is continual clickbait. Maybe the site has been hacked?
  18. Gets my vote too. However - the BN2 has much more *character*.
  19. Hi Reed! Great to hear about historic weather! 🙂
  20. I have to agree - it's vastly improved. I'm not too sure as to how *accurate* the weather depictions are, but the visuals are great.
  21. Browser refresh problem!!! Strange - as I got the (supposedly new) page from the FS.to Mod Manager/Update Needed page, which doesn't normally need a refresh. It did this time though LOL! All good - thanks!
  22. I just grabbed it ... are you sure you've linked the correct file/archive? The one I just downloaded was v19 (0.19.8395.28 December 26, 2022 - 44.06 MB) ... not v20!
