  1. I just posted this there but I might as well post this here too:This reminds me of something that happened on Amazon.com a few months ago, where they had an EVGA 896-P3-1267-AR GeForce GTX260 Core 216 SC Edition 896MB DDR3 graphics card on sale for $119.99, sold by TigerDirect. Many people that ordered it then received refurbished nForce 680i motherboards. It turns out it was a glitch on Amazon that caused the incorrect price listing and subsequently an incorrect item request to be processed to TigerDirect. Immediately they cancelled the order before it was processed and a refund was issued a few days later. Here is a link to a thread on their forum outlining the entire episode.

  3. Scanning wouldn't damage it. Just scan the side with the picture.By the way I think creating 4 threads about the same thing is unnecessary. It is hard to follow the topic.
  4. Hmmm... seems like pirated software to me.There is no such official version as "Version 2004 Corporate". The graphics were probably burned with a Lightscribe CD writer. All legitimate copies of XP Pro should come with official packaging and require activation. Can you post a photo of your disc?
  5. In "My Controls", scroll down to the "Option" section and click "Board Settings".The time zone settings are your first option.
  6. Yes, I completely understand what you mean.Uploading it here is a very good idea.
  7. If you were picking between the two I'd get the E8500 and overclock it to the speed of the E8600, considering the E8500 is $82 less than the E8600 and it is only 0.17GHz slower. Other than the small speed difference, the two are identical. What is your budget for your upgrade?
  8. I have XP Professional x64 Edition in my rig and I never had any compatibility issues. You should go to the websites of the manufacturers of your devices to make sure that there are drivers available for XP x64.XP x64 is a bit rare to come by these days. You could buy it from here. However you can't simply upgrade from the 32 to the 64 bit version, you have to do a complete reinstall. The one main issue is getting antivirus protection that works on the 64-bit version, Kaspersky is what I recommend for that.
  9. Steffen, both of your videos are outstanding! :(I am your first YouTube subscriber.
  10. In the "Real Aviation Photos" forum I wanted to post a topic with a link to my first and only photo on Airliners.Net. However when I clicked to preview the post I got this message: Would you please share the reason as to why links to Airliners.Net are prohibited? Thanks in advance.
  11. Yeah, that is pretty much all I would use it for - a portable computer for basic functions. Also, Best Buy offered to let me get the all-in-one printer model for $20 more, making the total price $269.99. The deal will last the entire week.(By the way, under the display model there is still a $299.99 tag for the laptop alone.)
  12. Wow I haven't even known about the new version all this time. I'm stunned really. :(
  13. Yesterday I went to Best Buy and I saw a special sale for a portable laptop. There was a blue Acer Aspire One laptop, with two 8GB hard drives (one regular and one solid state), 1GB of RAM, and the Intel Atom N270 processor with XP Home. It comes with a free Canon printer that they sells for $49.99.The deal is $249.99.I compared the prices of these laptops at other places and I think this is a really good deal. Should I go for it?
  14. I'd really like to see this for myself!Could you see how much CPU power and memory was being used on the desktop alone?
  15. I think this is an issue with Vista not recognizing that the application is trying to close and instead assuming that the program is not working correctly.FS2004 was designed and released well before Vista so I think it is a compatibility issue.
  16. Hmmm... this is a tad unusual. Did you recently perform any Windows Updates or install new drivers?I wouldn't imagine not being able to continue using your addons with your current keys. Are you using FS2004 or FSX, and if you are using FSX are you being prompted to reactivate it too?
  17. I think what is happening is that the F1 commands are contradicting themselves. When you are hitting F1 to go to idle, I think Windows is trying to load the help application (since F1 is the standard Windows command for help).
  18. Bluescaster,I did a search on your motherboard and according to the ASUS website, you have two SATA ports, using the older SATA I (1.5Gb/s) specification. It is still an improvement over the PATA setup you are using. Many newer SATA hard drives have backwards compatibility for the older specification and you would get better loading times than you currently have with a SATA drive. The only good external hard drives that could be used for FS are E-SATA drives, which have the same speed capabilities as standard internal SATA drives. A majority of motherboards do not support E-SATA, but there are E-SATA cards available for your PCI slot.In my system, I have a 300GB WD Velociraptor that I am going to only use for FSX.
  19. Thanks for the information.I have submitted it to Flight Simulation Resources > Microsoft Flight Simulation Sites and Resources > Aircraft and Panel Resources.
  20. Ok I will submit some.Photo of the air traffic control tower at Newark Liberty International.Continental 737 flying overhead.
  21. Hmmm...The main reason I switched from NVidia to ATI is because of the antialiasing problem I have been having with NVidia cards. Even with NHancer I couldn't get perfect antialiasing that I had with the older NVidia products. Now I hope I didn't make a mistake by switching to ATI but I have got reports of good performance so I will see for myself soon.
  22. I'm glad to help.Unfortunately I too have been stumped by USB adapters and automatic wireless. I was trained about integrated wireless devices and using the integrated Windows tools but when makers of plug-in adapters create their own software, it gets tricky.I once had a USB wireless adapter, but it only connected randomly or after a long period of time even when everything was configured properly, because the included software by NetGear was buggy.
  23. Hello, I'm new to this forum and I have been a FS fan for a few years now.I'm trying to figure out where to make a post about my website, Flight Sim Academy, in an effort to help it gain popularity in the FS community and make it a benefit to all.It is a website devoted to the education of creating models, textures, and other addons that increase the realism of the flight simulator world, but it is struggling at the moment due to slander and other miscellaneous attacks on me made by some of the most notable members the FS community. :(Can you give me advice of where to put such advertisement? There is a link to the site in my sig. Thanks in advance.
  24. I think you should be able to configure it in XP's wireless network settings by adding it as a favorite network and setting it to connect automatically. This link may help you.
  25. That is good to know. :( One of the main purposes of my machine is to make videos.
