B744 Cockpit Visit For Grown Man
Hi John! Man, I'm really sorry you feel that way man. Believe me when I tell you that I respect your opinion, but I think your perception appears a little extreme. People get killed every day while driving, but we can't stop driving man! A visit to the flight deck while the airplane is at the gate is NOT a big deal, and is perfectly safe! Even if someone puts a gun to my head to take the airplane, it'll take a team of people to just take the airplane off the gate! Pilots, kids, and aviation enthusiasts come up to take a look and ask questions on a regular basis when I'm working. We can't just blindly shot out aviation enthusiasts like yourself because there have bee terrorists acts involving airplanes throughout the world. We have to take precautions of course and follow security procedures, but just completely lock out everyone simply implies that the terrorists have really won the war! If I'm at the gate, and I have time, I'll be happy to show you guys the office. Come on in and take a look! Just don't touch nothing! :-) Ray

B744 Cockpit Visit For Grown Man
Hi Robert! I would ask during boarding if is possible to visit prior to departure. If the visit is granted, then ask if you could take that picture. If the flight crew is not too busy, you may take that picture right there and then! I normally ask to come up during deplaning, as most of the time we're busy trying to get the airplane ready for flight during boarding. Good luck and don't be embarrassed to ask man! Hopefully you get a cool flight crew!

Send fifty thousand US dollars cash, unmarked, un-sequential to every member of the forum offended! Lol Just kidding! Yep! I saw that man! It was misinterpreted and you did apologize. Autopilot Disconnect
Hey Guys! Does anyone have any difficulty disconnecting the autopilot with just the joystick mapped with the "z" command? Everytime I've tried to use the button mapped to the autopilots disconnect, I see the button action on the MCP being pressed but the autopilot does NOT disconnect. The only way I can succesfuly disconnect it is by clicking the yoke autopilot disconnect using the mouse, or by right clicking the screw on the MCP. Other than the issues reported and this one, I've had no other issues with this airplane. PMDG, you guys have totally impressed me again! Keep up the awesome work! See Yah! Ray Lemus

VC Night Lighting
Hey Guys,I absolutely love this airplane. However, one thing I wish Carenado would do is to give us more control of VC cockpit lighting. Is there a way of turning off those bright blue dome lights and leave just the instrument lights on. Thanks guys. See Yah!Ray

No panel freeze with PMDG house colors
You guys may be on to something here. I got my first panel freeze when I first installed the airplane and flew it for the first time. I then attempted another flight and had no issues. I've been flying this airplane with the PMDG paint job, since from the cockpit I can't see the paint job anyway. I updated to HF 3 and haven't seen any freezes since. See Yah! Ray

OH Panel Freezing
Hey I'm curious, are the guys getting freezes using the Track IR? The reason I ask is because some times if you look up or somehow your view position goes off and the view point happens to fall inside the head rest of the seat for example, it will prevent you from clicking on anything on the overhead panel. I really don't think this has anything to do with the hot fixes. I had the panel freeze issue the first time I tried to fly this airplane. I then tried the same flight again the next day and had no problems. I'm up to hot fix 3 and have had a couple of flights now without any issues at all. I have noticed though when my view point falls inside the head rest I can't click on anything on the overhead panel. When this happens I simply reset my view and everthing starts to work again. Check it out guys. See Yah! Ray Lemus

Sad day but and thankfully not a tradgic day for Caribbean Airlines
That's a good question A.J. I noticed that as well. Ray Lemus

EZDOK Camera anybody?
Hey Dazz,I felt like I threw my money away when I purchased it. I could not get it to work right with my Track IR. I just gave up on it dude. If you have and use a Track IR, I would not recommend it. Ray Lemus

VC Night Lighting
Dude that worked! Instead of deleting the line however, I decided to put “//” in front of the line. Just in case I need it later or something. But that got me exactly what I was looking for Dave. Thanks man. See Yah!Ray

VC Night Lighting
David, Thanks dude for the reply. I'll try option "a", since is the most simple approach. I'll post on the result. Thanks again man. See Yah!Ray

VC Night Lighting
Hello Guys,Love the airplane! This is already my favorate piston twin in FSX! Quick question: I like my VC at night to be as dark as posible. I noticed I get a blue haze light when I turn the battery switch on. Is there a way to disable that? In other words, I'd like to have just the intruments and avionics lights on, not any "dome" light effect in the VC. Is there a way to do that? To see what I'm talking about, simply pull up the VC and turn the battery switch on and off and you'll see what I'm taking about. Thanks guys. See Yah!Ray Lemus

A little Heads-Up on the NGX...
To visit, I would ask the flight attendant at the door as you board, or maybe introduce yourself to one of the pilots at the gate prior to boarding, if you get the chance. Simply, introduce yourself and give them a brief description of why you're so interested in taking a look, that's all. Just like in any industry, some people are really cool, some are not. I've met aviation and flight sim enthusiasts in the airplane before and have let them in the flight deck during or after deplaning. To my surprise, I had a 15 year old kid that knew the MCDU really well from flying the Airbus in flight sim! I thought that was pretty cool. See Yah!Ray LemusA320 FO

A little Heads-Up on the NGX...
Hey Kenneth,Dude those days are gone. The only time you can visit is on the ground between turns. There may still be some provisions on special approval and things like that, but I'm sure it has to be for official business only. I know man, it sucks! See Yah!Ray LemusA320 FO

A little Heads-Up on the NGX...
Hey Ethan,That's interesting flight crews are not allowing a little show and tell these days of the FDs prior to departures. The only thing I can think of is that, SW may have very short turn-times, and they may not be able to have a lot of time to do any of that stuff between turns. I don't remember any security directives that prohibits us from doing a little show and tell for interested customers. I do them frequently at JetBlue Airways. Yes, I know is an Airbus, please don't hold that against me, ok? :( I tell you what, you're on my flight and you ask to walk up front to take a look, I don't think we have a problem with that. At least I have not seen any flight crews have any issues with it. I have been in situations where we're late or somethingl like that, and we don't have a lot of time for that. I can also understand some flight attendants may be a little uptight about someone interested in the flight deck though. See Yah!Ray Lemus A320 FO

J41 Engine Start Guide
Andrew thanks for the video man. Guys I'm still having problems starting these engines. I've followed the procdures in the manual and I've also done everything as shown on the video. Out of many attempts, I think I've been sucessful only twise. My problem is the RPMs come up extremely slow. The light-up appears to be normal at around 10%, and EGT also appears normal at around 690. RPMs come up slowly until the starter cuts out at around 48% or so. What part of the procedure to start these engines, will cause RPMs to come up slow if done incorrectly? Right now the only way I can fly this airplane is to load another turboprop, and then jump into the Jetstream. Don't know what else to do. Any idea?As for PMDG, you guys are absolutely hands down, the best flight sim aircraft developer. Please continue to make these airplanes. You guys are awesome! Thank you!Ray "Bones" Lemus
