  1. Ok so, regarding this issue, I changed the videocard to an 8500 GT and because I lost some frames, I had to reduce some sliders to the left in order to maintain 30fps. Made a lot of flights, no issues. I was about to put the 9500 in the trash can when then...Then one afternoon, with bad weather and a lot of VATSIM airplanes == low fps and some stutters, it started doing it again (although to a lesser extent), this time the bird was the Wilco A320!!So having eliminated hardware issues, I put back the 9500 GT but didn't increase sliders. Since then, I have had no problems, I even added BPools=0 to the FSX.cfg so my opinion is that FSX doesn't handle well when it's under stress.I've always had HIGHMEMFIX=1 since the beggining, I won't turn it off just for the sake of testing because I really need fps, but if you can, you can delete HIGHMEMFIX and increase sliders to the right so we rule out that tweak.Other than that.. I live with what I have :)
  2. I use NVidia inspector's interface frame limiter. Better than using an external program.
  3. Good afternoon gents,I was getting graphics corruption (and a terrain.dll CTD) so I formated and re-installed Windows 7 + FSX, this time I didn't installed Acceleration Pack but only installed SP2.Now after installed everything, the graphic corruption is back, and it happens not only with LVL-D 767 but also with the Wilco Airbus A320. Tried rebuilding FSX.cfg and the only tweak now is the HIGHMEMFIX, because my computer is old. I don't get any corruption from other 3D apps, mainly because this puter is only for FSX :DThe graphic card (9500 GT) is NOT overclocked, only the CPU, from 2.2 GHz to 2.7. It's a dual-core E4500. Prime95 is stable all night long. NVidia Inspector is 1.9.5.9, driver is 285.62 WHQL and the settings are only as follow: http://img.techpower...0226_175008.pngPlease, has anyone experienced this? It also happens sometimes (but not a greater extent) in the 3D gauges. Please help. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hello gents,I've read and read and read (I'm a RTFM user), but cannot find an answer: is a REGISTERED VERSION of fsuipc needed? Tried everything, all I have is dashes on the MCP PRO.Thanks in advance
  5. I'm sorry to ask, but do you have ASE with SP3 ?
  6. You need a registered version of FSUIPC in order to correctly configure toggle switches.
  7. To make a long story short, and to give my experience only: I left IVAO because of poor ATC'ing and super-ego controllers. Worst online experience ever! Then I met VATSIM and their fabulous controllers. I was a complete noob and it took me a year until I learned my way up and reached the Ground certification, passing exams, training on sweatbox, etc etc etc you name it. I'm on my way to Tower certification, and they Yes, it was/is hard. Is it rewarding? For me, it's amazing, and I know I will NEVER-EVER returning to ivao. Long live VATSIM! :D
  8. Problem is the CPU (dual core at ~2Ghz) and FS9 only uses one core. You really need to OC, try BSEL mod.I have a E4500 cpu and a lousy mobo, and I've been reading about the BSEL mod, will do some time from now. That's the best advise I can give to ya (even if you dont like it).Cheers \o\EDIT: wheres the option to delete this post? Brain was on autopilot and forgot I was replying to a old thread..

Black smoke happens when installing newer versions of Shader Models (Bojote's one, for example).
  10. Yep, that's the way things work. The internal FPS limiter of FSX does a lot more than just limiting frames, it's a compromise between 'speed' and loading of the textures. I have a 10 year old single core processor (you guessed it.. it's a pentium 4!), and I can happily run Tileproxy limited @ 20 fps within FSX, as long as I don't fly with the PMDG/level-D/Mustang.. all carenados and GA paywares run happily, provided that I also don't fly at more than 100 knots of Groundspeed. My favorite use, however, is to find a cliff and jump down with an hang glider! It's so fabulous that sometimes I even get chills down my spine!!! Trully amazing add-on, best freeware for FSX without a doubt!!
  11. I beg to differ. The first step on a CTD is going to Event Viewer and check what DLL file crashed FSX. After that, do what martinlest2 wrote.
  12. The flashes you see is FSX loading the lights. The PAPI lights on the runways, and the landing lights on the aircraft, for instance.
  13. Nice topic here. I too am undecided about i3/i5/1095T, and prolly will go for the i5 because the extra two cores can be useful for Tileproxy. Another prime need is triple-monitor setup: an AMD 5850 is my fav budget card (the 5870 is 125€ more). Different people, different needs I guess. Keep coming those benchs
  14. Make sure you added SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=1, i had it set but that problem only went away when i set SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=2
  15. So Ok, this proofs i was wrong here, for FSX a quad core may be optimal.
  16. Thanks a miracle for this *******, even in my poor Pentium 820 it stopped the tearing, even in low fps situations! You sir, are a Genius!! muchas muchas gracias :)
  17. Zero CTD's here with PNW. Tried latest patches from Orbx? Have to say, they really deserve the
  18. 1- tho not a mac owner i do see some advantages in the apple platform, im not a a really excited user of any side.2- MacOS always runs faster than windows using the same specs, however you will be wanting to fly MSFS so you have to bootcamp to windows, right?I'm on the same boat too except that ill only be using windows and my priority will be clock speeds which im beggining to believe an i5 661 could "easily" achieve 4.4 on air with a 150
  19. Most errors reside in the original manufacturer of the original .dll but sometimes the problem is also the wrong order of the .dll files in the dll.xml file. For instance, FSCopilot.dll _absolutely_ needs to be in the last position of the dll.xml, or else it will start crashing FSX in some very weird ways.Another example is AES, which cause d3dll.dll errors. The LVL-D 737 also gives me ntdll.dll errors randomly when clicking the ground call button.
  20. FUD. There is absolutely no proof on that: FSX is happy with only 2 cores, because clock speeds is the thing that matters. An i5 650 at 3.2 GHz is better than ANY i7 below 3.2. Period.
  21. Well i can tell you ONE thing: DONTUSEPAGEFILE!ok? now you ask, "what comp do you have?"my reply:Pentium D 2.8GHz stock9500GT2.5 Gb RAMWindows 7 32bitmuahahah owned
  22. Wrong!!! I use that tweak with an old 90mn Pentium D and older 9500 GT and I _NEVER_ had a CTD after using BP=0 :)It's just sad what some fan-boys can say .. really, if you don't have anything good to say, just stfu :D
  23. sorry to dig up the thread, but i was looking for ways to fix my tileproxy and found this thread which helped me _IMMENSELY_ in understanding level_mapping vs lod, now it runs a lot more beautifully. on the long run i also managed to uncover the graal of blurry textures: it's called "Unlimited frames"! Somehow it seems that setting locked frames will free up more cpu for texture loading - and significantly cutting back on the 3d engine, hence the low fps values. go figure :( ah yes, killing processes and stopping services, welcome to my world since like, almost ever! :( My Windows 7100 RC1 Beta :( yep, still running since installed it last may 09 B)
