  1. I have only used TOPCAT to get data. I have not used it, nor will I , to load pax, cargo or fuel, nor have I used it to generate reports. This is what I do,Set up the plane in TOPCAT, then when you go to a flight, under W&B tab, press MAN ZERO FUEL WEIGHT, set up the dep and arr airfield. Go to teh take-off tab, on the left and for take off weight, press "GET", then run the compute to get the data. Same goes for landing. Make sure the weather is correct as well.
  2. Its not the biggest issue, since by the time the landing lights are on, I find myself more interested with the information above rather than needing that information, but I thought I should at least bring it up. Now that I figured out the issue (and so did a few others it seems!), if I need that information I will just kill the landing lights.
  3. Thanks Michael for doing this. Much appreciated.
  4. I reported this and thanks for looking into this and confirming it.
  5. The bottom part of the HUD, mainly the VOR rose or the deviation indicator falls behind the glare shield, but only when the Landing lights are on. When the landing lights are off, the issue is not there and the HUD system works as advertised, but when the landing lights are on, the issue presents itself. I took some pictures (I think), of it, but I am in the midst of a flight, I will post them when I land to help illustrate what I am talking about, and see if anyone else sees this issue.
  6. I have only seen this when loading a panel state. I had hoped to leave the airplane, save the panel state, so when I return to it, it is exactly as I left it, not always the same cold and dark. This would be the radios, the altimeters, the course, all that stuff. It is when I load that state, or loaded a flight in mid flight (after a CTD, utilizing an autosave created by FSUIPC) did I see the 9000+ minimums. Load the cold and dark state, and everything is as it should
  7. When I did it, I had both navs tuned to the ILS, both courses tuned to the ILS approach course, I pressed VOR LOC on the MCP to capture the localizer, then when I was established on the localizer I pressed APP to arm G/S. Once the G/S was captured and I was configured for landing, I armed CMD B and then armed AIII for the HUD. Pulled down the HUD and watched the aircarft fly down the glidslope, with the LAND 3 and all the other annunciations expected.
  8. Haven't had an issue with the service related failiures yet. Only have had it on for a few flights, my first four I flew with no failiures to get a feel for the thing. I have come across the famous duct over heat thing when parked at Palm Springs.
  9. I like to put the click spot on the upper left screw on the 2d FMS pop up. It didn't seem to take, but there is a good chance that it is because I put it on the wrong plane. Things work a bit different with this plane, I think because of all the on the fly changes in equipment you can do.
  10. I had the breaks act a bit goofy after landing. They got stuck on, and then I fliped the parking break on and off to clear the breaks so I could taxi off the runway, but then lost breaks for the taxi in. And also I saw the VOR compass rose int he IMV mode of the HUD get obscured by the glare shield, it disappeared and fell behind it. Not supposed to happen. But other then that, no issues at all, and great performance.

    TOPCAT?

I just enter the gross weight and landing weight to get the assumed temps and flap settings and for the auto break suggestions. As for CG and trim and V-speeds, I trust the FMS and go with what it gives me.
  12. I tried to do this, but the click spot didn't work. So I decided to forget it.
  13. I got it to work. Downloading right now. Things are nice and smooth with the download, but getting there seems to be a roll of the dice.
  14. He should log in and hide his status (he should be able to do that). Appear as an anonymous user instead of himself, since he draws too much attention and it is clear AVSIM cannot handle it.
  15. Gebus, this topic has two pages already!?! What the heck is going on here?
  16. so this is why AVSIM is crashing...
  17. I can always go for some chocolate cake, with a scoop of ice cream for good measure.
  18. That particular moderator's behaviour always seems to make things worse. Post in red letters, calling people names, acting very arbitrarily. Yet you have not done yourself any favours here either. You are right that this place can be very unfriendly, but that is because everyone here is watching this forum for one particular reason, and there have been a few people who have taken advantage of that and posted things that are absolutly unwarranted. In this case however, you deserve what you get. I am with Peter [insert last name her], don't come here to a flight sim forum and call people out for flying in FSX.
  19. Nobody wins when inifinity shows up. Didn't you take advanced post grad theroretical extra-dimensional supergauge physics?
  20. Only if it lands in New Jersey. Which if that is the case, I can understand why the attempted go-around.
  21. I am thinking there needs to be just one of these facebook threads.
  22. Photoshop is king for a reason. Has a steep learning curve if you want to get the most out of it, but if you are interested in messing about with graphics, and your interest is serious and genuine, take a look at Photoshop CS5. I added the caveat since software like this is not cheap, but there is a reason for that.
