  1. I have grown quite used to flying with FS2Crew with the Leo Md80, the LDS 76, the JS41, but I have to say I am enjoying flying the NGX solo at the moment. I am sure I will still get FS2Crew for it.
  2. There is something wrong with the Tx database I think. I was flying into Chicago on the Watson arrival, and I turned on the terrain radar so that I can tell when I crossed the shore line over lake Michigan, since i have it set up to dispaly water in Cyan. Instead, I get readings as if I am flying over terrain, with little hills. On my next flight I will see if I can figure if there is more inconsistancy and take some pics.
  3. I like this idea about real time fuel loading. And I am with Raven on the Event Times page, although I am not sure exactly what an ACARS page looks like in a 737, if it is similar to that or not.
  4. My old rule of thumb was around the time I lowered the gear, but on the NGX, I find I am needing to lower the gear a bit earlier in the approach to kill speed, so once I am on the glide, I will run through the landing check, get everything in order, then kill the autopilot and earn my pay. Autoland....bah
  5. A Lockhead Connie would be interesting, but like Ryan said, old planes do not sell as well. I am one of those who never bought the MD-11 because I just thought it was a strange choice, it is an old plane, with a bad reputation. The three jet thing is interesting. The 747 is a logical choice because of the new -8 varient. And of course the Dreamliner because it is ground breaking. I remember bringing up once how excellent it would be if PMDG tried to make a biz jet, like a Gulfstream, but apparently Gulfstream is not at all accomodating with add-ons, infact they will actively shut any developement down.
  6. I remember RSR commenting to a thread I posted way back when that he is very interested in a new 747, which would be cool. Then I imagine at some point the Dreamliner has to be considered. But I would love it if PMDG took a crack at the 767. Oh my goodness, I would buy that in a heartbeat.
  7. It has to do with Navigraphs NavData. If you fly in the US, you will never see a gate in the database. Fly in Europe, or I remember in some places in South America as well, the gates are in the database.
  8. Space Shuttle Mission is a fantastic simulation of the STS, and I recommend it to everyone. I get as much satisfaction from flying a TORVA as I do a RNP approach. Very cool you guys are involved with the boxed version.
  9. One of my first flights I had to do a go around and I was also unable to arm the G/S, only VOR/LOC.
  10. From my experience, the engines are certainly not bare metal. They are paint. I can't recall the stabilizer, but the engines are certainly painted gray. Spent many hours looking out a window at the them.
  11. But they are supposed to be grey, are they not? When I flew on an AAL NG, the engine looked this colour gray to me. It does not seem that we can change the engines, but would love to be proved wrong on that. Would love the ability to change the engines.

fly the tutorial flight, or at least just read it, and you will know how to get started with AIII HUD
  13. I have been using 1.00 with Track IR and EzDok
  14. Yes indeed! I was more thinking about some sort of blue for the panel lighting. Not sure I would go the pink route myself
  15. I was able to repeat my panel freeze with CDU inputs, and I do not run squawkbox. A little premature here with the victory speech.
  16. I see a little white box in the upper left corner of my screen. Never noticed it until I read this thread and looked for it.
  17. This is pretty cool stuff. I actually forgot about this promised feature. Can make some really cool effects with this.
  18. I flew the Z approach into PSP, although I hand flew it and did not hit the approach, instead just flew using the HUD. Works well. THere might be some details that are not included yet, I am not sure, RNP is not something I am very knowledgeable about, but flying into KPSP and being able to use the Rnav approaches and have the FD actually correctly respond to the waypoints, unlike other addons that will actually guide you to fly in circles and turn the wrong direction, is very very nice.
  19. I had this exact issue only once. Brakes would not release, could not taxi off the runway. Turned on the parking brake, turning it off, then the brakes released, but they released for good. No brakes for the taxi to my parking spot. Every other flight, only about 6 so far, the autobrake and manual braking transition has gone off without a hitch.
  20. If it is the Zone Temp for the aft cab you are referring to, I got this warning to day in PSP, and you have to hit the "Trip Reset" button by the bleeds to clear the amber light. I found it in the QRH, just opened the PDF and searched "Zone Temp", and it brought up a nice flow to deal with it.
  21. Now that I have seen it, I can't help but notice it now :( Ignorence is bliss
  22. This plane definately takes some getting used to. Even knowing that is was going to be hard to slow down, my first flight made me look like a darn fool, coming in waaay to hot. And yes, flew into Palm Springs, which is a 10,000 foot runway, but the TDZ is something like 3,500 feet down the runway, and I flared to early and floated a good while until I finally got the wheels down. Had to hit the reversers hard and manually break all the way down to stop in time, it was close. Need to use the HUD some more to get the feel for this thing at landing time. One quick question, am I rightin assuming the little plus symbols that rise near touchdown are flare indications? And I should pitch so the vector matches its movements?
  23. Man, I didn't notice this until you pointed it out. Good find.
