I hope more scenery will be introduced. This is a fun VFR simulator.

I happily use both titles. I look forward to any improvements of both as it will enhance and improve our flight sim experience. I could never understand the bickering between the two. Both benefit us all.

Certainly not my experience.

SOCAL was bad for me as well. I just removed it and no longer use it. Have the same issues now with V4.2 but in Germany N/S.

I don't have fsuipc. I remove GER N/S and just keep Europe LC and the stutters and pauses disappear. I had the same experience in V4.1 but with SOCAL. I ended up just removing it. Now it appears Ger N/S does the same thing in V4.2. Perhaps this orbx scenery does not play well with P3D V4.2

Where are they?

I recently installed P3D v4.2. Fresh install. After loading orbx global, RE LC and Germany N/S, I can no longer get consistent fps while engaged in vsync, the flights are no longer fluid, put a stuttering mess, with 1-2 second pauses. Does anyone have similar experience?

New development. This behavior seems to manifest itself only when using Orbx Germany, both North and South. Perhaps this is an Orbx incompatibility with 4.2.

Mike- Unfortunately I removed 4.1. I did a clean re-install of 4.2 and the same issues. FPS jumps from the low 40s to single digits with Vsync on. It is a bit of a mess.

Vic- I tried locking to 20 fps and the sim was not fluid, like it was using vsync in V4.1. I wonder if V4.2 broke vsync?

No I am not. I do not use FSUIPC.

I did a fresh install of P3D v4.2 and now it appears the vsync no longer works. While engaged, the fps jumps from 42 fps down to 9. I also see more stutters with more pausing. I am operating with a 4K monitor with a refresh rate of 30. With 4.1 the vsync kept the fps at 29-30 with a smooth experience. 6800K oc 4.3, SSD, 4K monitor, GTX 1080 ti

Rob- Thank you very much. I disabled Turbo Boost as you suggest and it is now as if I am seeing a whole new simulator! Many of the blurries are gone! The Orbx scenery is much more crisp! You truly are a "Rock Star" in my book. Thank you for your contributions to our hobby!

I purchased the ACE Desktop 737, and wish I had not. It took roughly a year for the product to be delivered. When it arrived, the mounting knobs were missing. It took another two months for those to arrive, after I had to remind them several times. The yoke is beefy and the forward and back (elevator input) motion is not smooth at all. If you use fine adjustments with the yoke to climb and dive, than release the yoke, it will not center. This makes gentle climbs and dives difficult. I am totally dissatisfied with the product, and if any one reading would like to purchase this from me, I will let it go for under 150.00 USD.

Setting of AM 4093 works very well with my system with sensible settings.

I have a 6800K OC @4.3 with a 1080TI, running a 4K monitor. The AM setting of 1365 and the TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=9 addition seem to work well on my system, very smooth. Its important that I run vsync on/ triple buffering with the target frame rate set at 30. Running Prepar3d V4.1

I have over 1000 hours in GA aircraft and the models I use in simulation lack a bit as far as the real thing. The reason is the control devices I use and the absence of the physical forces at play.. My yoke and pedals don't have the same resistance as in real life. Also, the g-forces are not present behind my desk as they are in the cockpit. Performing a step turn in the real thing is very different than behind the desk. This being said, I still enjoy the simulation. For what it provides for the cost, there is no comparison.

Run as administrator. This fixed it for me.

My experience with the lighting in FSW is very "washed out". Is there a work around?

Rob, I got the SVS working but I get no announcements like you have in your video. What am I missing?
