  1. I wish I had seen this before I purchased Germany. I have same issues as well as a large chunk of Northern Germany that is missing, no tiles!
  2. Thank you Rob. I did a clean swipe and installed V2.4 and still get the oom. The maximum aircraft I can switch to is 3 before I get the oom. The only scenery I have installed is Orbx NCA. PNW, Monterey, CRM, Global, Vector and Open lc. Aircraft installed is Iris PC-9a, PC-21, Aerosoft Airbus, QM400, Boeing T45, and A2A Skyhawk.
  3. Updated using patch. Default is Langley, with the default F-35. I switch to the Pc-9a from Iris, then change airport to Monterey. Once in Monterey, the OOM appears shortly. I have Orbx global and Vecter installed as well as Monterey, and Northern California. I will get ooms at Langley when I switch aircraft. Again, this has never happened to me using Prepar v2.2 or V2.3. I will get ooms when attempting to change scenery detail.
  4. A bit frustrated. Updated patch according to instructions and now I get OOMs every time I attempt to change aircraft, or change airport or change scenery settings. This never happened in V2.3. Anyone have similar experience?
  5. Excellent choice made by AVSIM. Rob you are the definition of "professional". I wish you luck and look forward to more of your great videos and instructive advice.
  6. I too ponder what an upgrade from a GTX770 to a GTX970 would harvest
  7. I have tried this software in Preapar3d V2.3 with the latest Nivida update (344.11). VC still is unable to break the 20fps mark, even with very sparse settings. My advice, is pass on this one.
  8. Do not know concerning the AN-2, as I do not own it. However I have the Cessna Bird Dog, and NO, it will not carry over to V2.3 nor 2.2 for that matter.
  9. iFly 737NG is a poor performer in Prepar3d V2.3. I have tried to make it work several times but the frame rates are poor at best.
  10. The 25" 1080p. If one has the 29" 1080p I would also like to know their thoughts.
  11. Has anyone used LG's Ultra wide 21:9 monitor? If so, please share your findings. Thank you.
  12. Any else having this issue? I have NCA with Global Vector, with Monterey installed on a fresh Prepar3d V2.3. When operating in this area, the scenery lags. It is as if you are running and than some one holds you back (slows you down), than releases you (speeds up). I have this phenomena in no other Orbx scenery which includes Open LC, PNW, CRM, and Orcas Island.
  13. Recently added ORBX Open lc Europe to Prepar3d V2.2 and have had a few days to test. Quite simply, this scenery is brilliant! Excellent frame rates, nice detail. I greatly anticipate the release of other Open lc areas by ORBX. If you have not tried this scenery, I wholly recommend it.
  14. I too had this issue awhile back with ORBX Orcas Island. What I did to fix this was I placed the Orcas Island in the scenery menu above all others.
  15. Thank you Fr. Bill. Rob, ignore the ignorance. I thank you for your great work and appreciate the help you give the community.
  16. Interesting question. I have over 900 hours in various GA aircraft and feel both can't replicate the real experience. You need the crucial inputs that real flying afford; from the subtle pull on the yoke of various external forces to the push/pull on your torso from the negative/positive "Gs". I find these simulators useful in navigation, approaches, systems familiarization, and quite frankly, for entertainment. I find it detrimental to "trash" one platform over the other. Find what you are comfortable with and exploit it. It's about aviation and the education of the public of this beautiful endeavor so our "enlightened" political class will not make the real thing disapeared for the average person.
  17. Cowpatz- Please let me know your FPS in VC. Perhaps I have something that needs to be modified, as I would love to get this addon to work with smooth and acceptable frame rates. With Aerosoft's Airbus AXE I get 50-65 FPS in VC, very smooth. With Milviz 737, I get 45-60 FPS in VC, very smooth. I ported over FSX 737 and I get 65-80 FPS in VC, very smooth. When I switch to iFly 737 for Prepar3d v2, I get 16-20 FPS in VC, not smooth. All in the same area, 10,000 ft over AZ with photoscenery, all settings to mid level. Now if I do this at an airport, the FPS in VC with the iFly 737 is crippling. i7-4820K @3.7 GHZ OC to 4.33 16 G RAM, WIN 8.1, R9-280X@ 3GB
  18. I have this card and it works fine for me. I set supersampling in the gaming section of the AMD catalyst. Make sure you set the Override application setting in the Anti-Aliasing section. Save it, than start Prepar3d V2.2
  19. Regardless of the settings, the frame rate in VC is very poor. The best I could get was at 20fps and that was with all sliders to minimum. My system: i7 - 4820K @ 3.7 GhZ , 16GB RAM, win 8.1, R9-280X 3 GB
  20. I have the same problem. To compensate, I turn down the auto gen building to normal and the spikes disappear. I have a R9 280X card. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. 8-10 fps. Scenery is set high, all others set medium, shadows only in cockpit. Cloud shadows on bit at minimum.
  22. Thank you for the heads up. If the frame rates are friendly, I'm all in.
  23. Interesting. At a LAX with photoscenery I get the following: iFly 737 2D: 20fps VC: 10fps AXE 2D 27fps VC: 18fps When at Seattle the system with iFly 737 goes to a crawl, single didgets. i7 4820K @ 4.11GHZ OC, W8.1 64, 16GB RAM, R9 280X 3GB
