  1. Hi XP Folks, Have finally managed to get Ortho4xp to work (I think). Built an area around KSAT (+29-099) using GO2 images. Looks great except that a couple of the default airports don't fit the ortho image. KSAT is shifted a little and looks a bit odd around taxiways, etc. But when I flew to KBAZ (New Braunfels) the ortho and airport scenery are offset by maybe a couple thousand feet. It's very disconcerting on approach to see two airports. Is this typical? Did I do something wrong? Should I just select a different ortho? Just not sure how to proceed from here. I will continue to test and try different combinations but would certainly appreciate any advice anyone might have. Thanks. Jesse
  2. If you are serious about a computer for flightsim you really should at least contact Jetline. They know computers and sims. And they are a great bunch of guys who would love to talk to you. I talked to them, bought my system from them almost three years ago. I have had great support ever since. In my book it is not a simulator without Jetline. They just make it all work. Tell them what you want and they will get you there. They do it all. Jesse
  3. I could be wrong but, that seems to be based on the conversion for Jet-A fuel rather than Avgas. The 421C uses Avgas. Thus 50 gallons would be 300 lbs. and 100 gals. would be 600 lbs. Hope that helps. Jesse
  4. Got it! Thanks for the support. Jesse
  5. The RXP compatibility updates are now posted. Jesse
  6. That's very encouraging, Bert. I haven't seen anything on the RXP forum and no one responded to my query there earlier today. Also noticed Jean-Luc has not been on the forum for several days. So I guess I will go ahead with my P3D update based on your apparent "insider" info. 😉 Appreciate your always dependable support. Jesse
  7. Perhaps I have missed something but I have not seen any comment from RXP concerning compatibility with the newly released P3D v4.5 Hotfix. Is there an update coming? Is the current version compatible? This is the only add on I am waiting to hear from before I update. Any information would be appreciated. If I missed something please point me in the right direction. Thanks, Jesse
  8. Very enlightening! 😊
  9. I don't have the Tomahawk so I'm not certain just what you are seeing, but it may actually be normal for the Tomahawk. The PA-38 Tomahawk does not have a trim tab. It uses an arrangement whereby a spring pushes against the yoke. The trim wheel just changes the preload on the spring. This alters the position of the entire elevator to effect trimming. Perhaps that is what you are seeing. Jesse
  10. Another amazing work Sir. Thanks... Seriously! Jesse
  11. Hi Bill. Thanks for taking the time to post the comprehensive information. It's all right in line with what I have been able to find, also. And that's after considerable digging around. Still hoping that some reasonable explanation will present itself at some point. Sure makes nervous flying around with a gauge so regularly indicating in what appears to be a caution range; even if it is just a simulation. 🙂 Also, looking forward to your mod updates. Jesse
  12. Perhaps I should clarify. I am asking about this because I have always recognized a yellow arc marking on any gauge to be a caution zone. But in the 690 I find myself operating within this apparent caution area in many flight regimes even with moderate power settings. And in fact there is quite a separation between these temps and the red line implying that it is satisfactory to operate at temps higher than the caution area. Very confusing. So I thought there may be more to the explanation. At any rate, If anyone has some knowledge of this I would sure like to hear your explanation. Thanks, Jesse
  13. Does anyone know what the yellow arc on the EGT gauges represents? I haven't been able to come up with any information on them. Thanks, Jesse
  14. I think Farlis' suggestion will work if you also set up a new default flight originating at a location in your local time zone. Hope that helps. Jesse
  15. What weather engine are you using? Maybe you need to update the Nav data for that as well? Just athought. Hope it helps. Jesse
  16. Have been following this thread with interest as the Navajo is one of my favorites and I have the same lack of the overhead light effect in P3Dv4.4. Tried a substitute vclight file based on your suggestion and can confirm that it works. Hope that helps. Jesse
  17. Thanks for your guidance, but I already did that much. I thought that the post may have referred to an in-depth review. Nonetheless it would be good to have heard the posters opinion. Really doesn't matter to me anymore. Jesse
  18. Well... Care to provide a link or share your insights with the rest of us? Jesse
  19. Saw this announcement at FSElite: https://fselite.net/news/mwp-projects-release-atmoengine-for-prepar3d-v4/ Have to admit I know nothing about this addon. Do any of you folks with both x-plane and P3d have any comments? Or has anyone tried it? I'm also wondering if this integrates with ASP4 and ASCA and how it compares with Envtex. And... much more. Unsure Jesse
  20. No need to wait. Get it. The Sky textures and cloud textures are great!! Integrates very well with ASCA. Fantastic product that continues to be updated and very responsive support. As far as sets, since I do integrate with ASCA, there are three basic choices. I like them all. Experiment to find your favorite. Blue Skies Jesse .
  21. My personal thanks Ron. A beautiful job. I will be very proud to fly this. Jesse
  22. Thanks Maxime. Exactly what I was looking for. Files are located in Documents/Prepar3D v4 Add-ons/Lorby-SI LorbyFlashlight_P3D_V4/Effect Adjust for whichever effect you are using. If I have it worked out right I believe they are: fx_Lorby_flashlight.fx is the Lamp Type 2 fx_Lorby_flashlight_Wide_Red.fx is the Lamp Type 1 (Red) fx_Lorby_flashlight_Wide_White.fx is the Lamp Type 1 (White) Jesse
  23. I would like to try some adjustments to the brightness. Could you give me some direction on which parameter to adjust? I just don't recognize which one would control that. Thanks, Jesse
  24. Thank you very much, Oliver. Just exactly what was needed. Works beautifully with TrackIR. A very natural effect. Have tested in Carenado T210, Navajo and Cheyenne; Alabeo 421C, Milviz 310R redux and Twin Comanche as well as RealAir Duke. All work perfectly. Jesse
