  1. I am particularly curious about the overcast conditions. We have had several days of overcast Strato-cu here in South Texas at the 6,600' to 8,500' levels and I can barely get scattered to local broken out of anything I have tried. Will Opus produce high overcast? And, if it does can it accomplish the condition without bringing FSX to it's knees?
  2. Where did you see that it was certified? I didn't think it was quite to full certification yet. I know they are in production. though.
  3. By chance does this help? This is from my cfg and the notes that I keep in there: [bufferPools] UsePools=0 //Poolsize=0 //UsePools=1 //PoolSize=2097152 //PoolSize=100000000 //Defines the amount CPU will handle - above this amount is sent to GPU //RejectThreshold=98304 //96kb //RejectThreshold=126976 //124kb //RejectThreshold=262144 //256kb //RejectThreshold=524288 //512kb //RejectThreshold=131072 //Bojote's
  4. Have you tried the settings in the configuration set up tool? Terrain/Set Lighting Effects Brightness/100%, 50% or 25%
  5. Why not just select ALT on autopilot before takeoff, set altitude and climb rate (and probably HDG and heading) and then after takeoff engage the autopilot? Of course that is if you don't like hand flying. :-)
  6. Thanks for the response Johan. I always appreciate your insights and efforts. Thanks. It may take me a while to digest and understand but I'll get there!
  7. Excellent contribution Gentlemen. You are all to be congratulated. Thankyou for sharing your talent, time and work with us. It seems to me a byproduct of this mod is that the inherent fsx difficulty taxiing turboprops (KingAir, Turbine Duke, Piper Cheyenne. etc.) seems to have been virtually eliminated. Perhaps this is placebo, or just wishful thinking on my part but, thus far it seems to be at least vastly improved. It is well worth using for that alone for me. One question, if I may. When implemented through the FSUIPC 4859k are there changes to the wet, icy, and grass/gravel behaviour? I have not been able to figure out how to look at the setting/values being used. Edit: Is it implementing the settings as shown in the "Frictions.lua" in the "Example Lua Plugins" folder?
  8. And they say an RV grin is big. They just never saw the grin on the face a new Baron owner!! There is however one problem. I am now totally conflicted about which one to fly. Hope my wife will understand I am just going to have to be "Gone Flying" twice as much. Thanks again Ray. Excellent work!!
  9. That's a great looking paint scheme. Look forward to seeing your final version. And, please do upload and let us know where.
  10. Thanks, Ray. She's a real beauty! This is very appreciated.
  11. You might want to try pseudo full screen mode. I only recently discovered it in a post by "simmer250" but it works great for me and just might eliminate the edge problem you're having. The script can be found here: http://www.autohotke...rs/page__st__15 And, the hotkey addon is available here: http://www.autohotkey.com/ It works in windowed mode but pushes the sides and bottom two pixels outside the monitor and pushes the title bar off the top of the monitor.
  12. Great package. Excellent visuals and plenty of options to control fps in the 2 or 3 dense areas. Brings Alaska to life!! Go get it; you can't go wrong on this one!!
  13. With FPS locked at 30, I get the smoothest performance with usepools=0. But, I do get some occasional flashing textures because I don't like setting the water effects to High.2x (I just don't like the looks of the reflections for general flying). Using reject threshold even when set as low as 98304, gives me the expected slightly reduced performance in trade for no flashing. After testing back and forth between the two and using both in many routinel flights, I have preferred the usepools=0.for normal use. Frankly, though, both settings have proven generally smooth and have been quite acceptable for my use.
  14. Is this similar to what you are seeing in FSX? (It was taken today in FSX with REX-E+, UT-X., GEX (1.099) and SceneryTech Landclass I have to admit that I do not have any first hand experience flying in the Denver area in November so I just compared this with November GoogleEarth photos and it seemed pretty typical to me.
  15. I am quite anxious to acquire all of the currently listed "upcoming projects" from Carenado. I am a huge fan of Carenado and their aircraft are almost all I fly in FSX. As a former real world pilot in many of their models I find them to be quite satisfying to fly in FSX. Keep up the great work, Carenado! Looking forward to all of your offerings!
  16. I'm flying the Cheyenne with Win7x64 but in FSX, so I'm not sure how relevant my experience is. But, I just set up a flight and had no problem with Nav mode following a flight plan. Followed your procedure but I did notice your description never said you re-armed the Nav mode after setting the intercept heading and you didn't mention if you were within the requsite "3 dots" on the HSI. Hope you get it sorted out. I know you love the Cheyenne!
  17. By way of follow up; after much testing and adjusting I was unable to get this method to make any lasting difference with the particular issues I am experiencing. My issue is very unpredictable as far as I have been able to discover (thus difficult to test) and I don't wish to hijack this thread with the details. I just wanted to let you know that this has not produced the results in my very particular case, though it may have some possibilities for others.
  18. I actually had the same question as "SKEWR". I have the Nvidia Control Panel and right clicked the tray icon then selected "exit". That seems to help with the problem but I'm still testing. I also assume this will have no effect on my nvidia Inspector settings but would like confirmation if anyone knows for sure. (Or, perhaps part of my similar problems may have been due to the conflict between Nvidia Control Panel and Inspector?)
  19. Are you using FSUIPC registered version and it's smoothing option? I like FSrealWX for weather generation and that can help also.
  20. Have you Defragged since your install?
  21. Please forgive me if I'm a little late to the party. I am somewhat new to FSX and only recently acquired the Carenado 337. I'm starting to fly around the Canadian Rockies and Alaska and the terrain page would be quite useful. If the mod is still available I would really appreciate a copy. Unfortunately I have been unable to send a PM. If the mod is still available please let me know how to get a copy. Thanks, Jesse
