  1. Midwest boring? Perhaps. But with GEX I see nothing of the "tiling" even with default landclass.
  2. I have a little bit different reason for using Hyperthreading and one which I admit I don't really understand. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than I could shed some light on it. My Alienware's BIOS allows me to modify the Turboboost O/C. I have set all 4 cores at 4.3Ghz. I get the full 4.3Ghz with Hyperthreading enabled. With HT off I can only get 3.8Ghz even though 4.3Ghz is set in BIOS. HT=254 works quite well for me and I get consistently smooth FSX performance and no crashes. I haven't noticed any appreciable difference in core temps.
  3. Well, the "leans" are certainly obvious with even a small shift in CG to the left or right. For instance with single pilot, no passengers and even with equal left and right side fuel it is pretty obvious (and, realistic). Then, get the fuel just a bit out of balance... and, off you go. That much at least is not your imagination or yoke control, anyway. Its just good fun flying. And I'm also glad someone else has noticed these things, too. They really have added up to a greatly improved flight experience.
  4. If these things are a product of your imagination then I'm imagining the same. Frankly, I find the aircraft easier to fly because it does come so close to a real flying "feel".
  5. The Baron is my favorite; especially with the HawkDSL Turbo conversion. Can't get enough time in this aircraft!! (and, I really enjoy the Skymaster, too!) I also like... well, I haven't actually found one I don't like.
  6. Circle to Land approaches are typically used in situations when winds or other circumstances, dictate a landing to a runway without an instrument approach. You will receive a clearance for an approach to a runway with an approved approach procedure and once you are clear of clouds and have the airport in sight, you would circle the field to the landing runway. Normally minimums will be much higher for these approaches so you can safely conduct the maneuver and keep the runways in sight during the circling transition to the landing runway. You may want to "google" cicle to land procedures to find more specifics about properly conducting such an approach. Following the proper procedures is critical.
  7. Raul, Thank you very much for the detailed tutorial. I'm looking forward to trying it soon. It usually takes me a few tries to get through a new process the first time, but your presentation should be a tremendous help,

Hear! Hear! I look forward to every one of his releases. His most recent releases in the Bahamas have been especially enjoyable. He has genuine talent and the generosity to freely share the fruits of that talent with us all. Thanks Art! My hat is off to you!
  9. Teach a man to fish! I am really looking forward to your tutorial. Thanks for your offering.
  10. Thank you for an informative, and unbiased review. Very refreshing!!
  11. Anyone heard anything? I bought from a third party vendor and don't know if I will hear about this unless Carenado issues it as a public update. So, if anyone hears anything please post. Thanks. I'm itchin' to go fly and enjoy the Cirrus.
  12. Thanks, Jim. I musta' "had my head in the sand". See, I told you I was easily confused; but, I think you already knew that.
  13. Now you really lost me, Jim (but, that's not hard to do ) . Last two posts? Do you mean posts to the guide? I'm not even totally sure which "latest guide" you mean since there are several more than 4 settings in the inspector guide I'm looking at; 7/15/2013.
  14. Did you ever discover the specific cause. I have done as you suggest, in the past, and still have the same problem. I must have missed something. Any ideas what it could actually be that causes it?
  15. For those using windowed mode you may want to try using pseudo full screen available in the Avsim library (pseudo_full_screen.zip by Maarten Boelens). Gives a full screen look with the windowed performance. Works great for me!
  16. Are these values really any different than setting the Autogen slider all the way up to "Extremely Dense"?
  17. Enjoying this very much. An extra touch of realism that makes a big difference. Very well done. Thanks so much for sharing your work. Jesse
  18. Exceptionally well done! Straight forward, simple install. Very nice job on the sounds as well. Thanks for sharing your work, your time and your talent. Will be enjoying this one for a very long time. Jesse
  19. Thanks for posting your findings, Nikki. I guess that is a potential compromise to actually eliminating the click spots and I suppose it has been around for a while. Of course that eliminates each of those views from use completely (unless I am missing something else). I was just hoping Brent ("dcgator29") actually had a method to remove the click spot itself. Guess I will be anxiously awaiting the update.
  20. My understanding is that this would not be used for an SSD. SSD's should be set to "None" to avoid writes being sent to it.Don't know positively if that's correct but that's how I am using FSX on my SSD. Note that my operating system is on an HDD where the page file size is set as suggested, but I'm not sure my method would apply if the OS is also on the SSD. I know this is drifting off topic but thought it might be good to add this caution.
  21. How, pray tell?? I'm really looking forward to updates to this exceptional aircraft!! Thanks RealAir!
  22. Some excellent suggestions thus far. I wouldn't disagree with any of them. There is another one to consider, though. The Alabeo Staggerwing is exceptional. After two or three flights you will come to love this aircraft. I fly it almost everyday Whatever you chose, have fun flying and Blue Skies!
  23. OK, thanks. Perhaps I am confusing the normally aspirated and Turbo versions. Thanks for the response.
