  1. The Quest Kodiak has a menu option to disable the zoom wheel, so it is possible. Maybe someone could write a universal plug in for that.
  2. I'm in the same boat. I went ahead and purchased the V-35 and the Reality pack. Sadly, no brakes, and the gear door stays open. Also purchased the Quest Kodiak (no brakes) and PC12 (no brakes + engine fire). The only plane working in my hangar is the CRJ-200, so I'm making do with IFR flying for now. On the subject, no PB3 today? I really hoped it would be out today and fix the braking issues. Hopefully this week.
  3. I flew in Spain today with HD mesh, Pilot2ATC, xEnviro and the CRJ-200. Settings all high to max. X-Plane 11 used 3GB of RAM. The system used well under 6 GB. I just don't see any way that the normal user would exceed 16 GB unless flying in an extreme custom scenery area like NYCX.
  4. I had an amazing flight today in Valencia, Spain, where the weather was unusually crappy (or maybe I just don't know the Spanish weather patterns) and xEnviro. IFR with near zero visibility. Rain hitting the windshield. Wipers on. Cross winds. It was a jaw dropping flight, and my standards are based on P3D and AS16. This was better. When I finally saw the runway lights at 500 feet or so (no lights shining through the clouds for me--I had to descend a lot before they were visible), I let out a whoop of joy. BTW, coming from P3D, the runway lights and sloped runways in XP11 are amazing.
  5. I know that the CRJ-200 still uses the GNS430\Navdata folder even in XP11, so i'm sure other planes do too. I just added the folder manually and then added it to the Navigraph FMS Data Manager program so it gets updated.
  6. NYC X is extreme. I have tested with HD Mesh version 3 and default cities and larger airports with things like Pilot2ATC and XEnviro running. I have never had more than 8 GB VAS usage, and usually more like 6 GB or less. I do, however, get to 7 GB VRAM use in 4k.
  7. Nowhere near that. At high settings with HD mesh, etc., I'm seeing < 8 GB. Maybe NYCX is unsual though.
  8. Winds are spot-on in my flying so far. Turbulence and winds where I would expect it.
  9. Rob, what 4k performance issues are you having? I run both P3D (using your settings btw) and XP11 at 4k with a GTX 1080. XP 11 performs much better and smoother except with default clouds enabled--which is remedied by using X-Enviro. In fact, that is one of the main reasons I have become a convert to XP. My settings are all high to max but with no ground shadows (that might be what you are referring to--they admittedly cause a big performance hit). I have never fallen below 25 fps even at the busiest airports with 7+ AI planes and crappy weather. The overall experience of XP + XEnviro is MUCH smoother than P3D with AS16 for instance: no autogen pop-in, no stutters, etc.
  10. In case anyone missed this. http://www.avsim.com/topic/499655-some-interesting-info-from-the-2017-orbx-roadmap/ Good times coming in 2017.
  11. I agree with those guesses. Sweet! "A" is indeed likely AeroflyFS2, since that covers western USA and Switzerland presently.
  12. The more I fly, the more impressed I am. Definitely worth $70 to not see those smoke black clouds again.
  13. I've made a couple of flights now and really like it. Sure, there are a couple of bugs with cloud motion and fog effects, but those will surely be fixed. The overall program is great. I was flying in the U.K. And had multiple levels of clouds with lots of depth. Very realistic. The low res clouds look fine and there was 0 effect on fps, which is amazing compared to default clouds.
  14. I'm planning to pull the trigger today. The devs seems committed, and I like that there seems to be minimal fps impact. I just can't fly with default XP11 clouds anymore.
  15. I recently purchased P2ATC (for XPlane since I already used ProATC for P3D). I'm really impressed it's loaded with features such as a nice flight planner, satellite maps, etc., and using the microphone is fun. support is great too with frequent updates.
  16. I also am having the flashing problem on the multipanel despite the Win 10 power management being fixed. Might just be an XP11 issue with xsaitekpanels.
  17. That's interesting. My 4790k with hyperthreading on sits at less than 40% utilization. So it must be that XP is written to only load up 4 cores. Edit: more accurately, the operating system schedules the threads from XP and sees no need to load up the virtual cores.
  18. Xcamera works fine. I'd also like to know about GTN 650/750. Anyone?
  19. My GTX 1080 has never passed 50 percent utilization in the few times I've checked. However, vram has gotten up to 6 GB on my 4K monitor.
  20. For the planes that have this issue, does it affect the flight physics? Increased drag? Just wondering if I purchase a Carenado plane with gear door issues will I be able to fly it?
  21. Make sure you install the additional library file I linked to above.
  22. Also, I just posted a tip in this forum for adding prefab airports. That will allow you to continue using PlanG and your P3D/FSX database.
