Any fix for flickering after Win10 1809?

Limiting the frame rate to 60 or less is another simpler cure.

P3D running but CPU not running at max speed

This seems to be simple enough? Affinity mask Calculator No idea if it works on Concorde though if there is a DXTI error.

P3D running but CPU not running at max speed

Hello Ray, I am not about to engage in an argument with you as it will inevitably lead to nowhere. Put simply, the idea, as I believe is in the SDK, though I have not studied it, is to install the product wherever you want to, except, they say, inside the P3D root folder. Then an add-on.xml file is placed in the documents folder which is read by P3D and tells it where to find the files. Once this is done, P3D reads the add-on.xml files and adds to or takes away from the add-ons.cfg file depending on what it finds. I believe that it is also possible for a developer's installer to write directly to the add-ons.cfg file allowing P3D to find the files' location.

Virtually all the airports that "want to be installed under My Documents" do not need to be installed there at all and it is not intended that they should. I submit this, not because I want to be shot down like everyone else, but because it is the case.
  5. Forums are populated by the same wide variety as the rest of the world. It is never wise to criticise another's method of expression because the reason for it can range from a simple typing error or an unfamiliarity with the language in question to many far more serious problems. The meaning is clear, much like we all understand the concept of "study level", even though there is no dictionary definition and that it has apparently been contrived by this community to describe the more complex aircraft models.

    Scenery has gone grey

I think that the Extreme versions do have seasonal textures.

    I think I need a new system

I guess you didn't read the topic.
  9. Hello zap51, is a new PC an option for you?
  10. Hello, as they are essentially the same thing, I would think it very unlikely that FSX-SE would give you any worthwhile improvement.
  11. Hello Ray, here is why, from the Freemesh X site. What is seen in P3D is what came with FSX.

    I think I need a new system

How quickly "old" processors are written off as "marginal". An i5 is well up to the task of running P3D and of course a K model with a bit better cooling will overclock easily on that motherboard. The GTX 650ti is a relatively weak card and also relatively small, so it would be a good idea to check if a 9 or 10 series card will physically fit. 450W is not a huge power supply to run one either. I very much doubt that you would need to change the motherboard, it supports Pcie 3.0. I also very much doubt that you would be able to sell what you have, let alone for 300 euros. If you want an improvement for a small price, a used 970 or 980 would probably cost well under 100 euros and give you what you need to run P3D v4. (I have a 970 in my loft😉)

Hello, do you have a budget or are you asking for the highest possible current PC specs for gaming of all kinds because that is what you will get with the question you are asking.

By default, Windows hides known file extensions. This is not helpful and can lead to some users renaming a file to conform to what they think should be there when in fact it already is. If .cfg is set as a known file extension, ie there is a program set to open .cfg files, then it will show as just the file name, in your case Cameras Renaming it to .cfg will result in the name actually being Cameras.cfg.cfg, the second .cfg being hidden, from you but not from Windows or FSX, which I think is what you did. FSX is then unable to see the Cameras.cfg file that it expects, because it is now named Cameras.cfg.cfg and it only knows to look for Cameras.cfg, so it creates a new one, as indeed you say did happen. If you would prefer to avoid this in future and save yourself unnecessary trouble, visit the Windows File Explorer view settings and untick "Hide extensions for known file types".
