  1. With live traffic provided by RealTraffic, I just use FlightRadar24 or some specific Flightboard App. No need for yet another add-on for such a simple use case.
  2. My M2 is a regular one and I was getting around 30-40 fps in medium settings using default scenery and aircraft. Have not even tried 4K with high-end aircraft, AI and ortho...
  3. I have briefly played with XP12 using my Macbook M2, but the performance was much, much worse than both of my rigs. X3D + a beefy GPU is imho the best combo for simming.
  4. I have used Ezdok and Chaseplane extensively in P3D. Why? Because the default camera system stinks. DCS, XP and MSFS offer customizable built-in systems making it possible to achieve everything I need to properly manage complex aircraft, namely: move inside the flight-deck with WASD keys, create and easily activate custom cameras for instrumentation and cabin views. Based on the last sentence of your statement, it just sounds you have never tried to use the camera systems in the other sims. It is totally possible to create cameras for different internal views in *all* of them for *specific* aircraft!
  5. Why would LM break compatibility to such an extent in what it seems to be a clear evolutionary update? If the improvements brought forward by V6 were dramatic, then I would be all for it. To me, this only reinforces the obvious: academic/personal users are not at all relevant to them.
  6. Well, if they will make their catalog available for MSFS before updates for V6 are released, this could either mean that their Airbuses and Concorde are much closer to being released on MSFS than what we've thought, or that V6 support will come by the time P3Dv8 is released.
  7. Well, that statement has saved me 55€. Without FSL, PMDG and iFly, what will people be using in V6? Unfortunately the default P3D aircraft are a far cry from what is available in competing platforms.
  8. No reason to go with Intel unless P3D is still relevant for you. Every other sim and game that I’ve tested performed better with the X3D in comparison with my old 13700K. AM5 is a great platform and now I’ve got two of them. 😀
  9. I believe this is not possible when using my traffic solution (PSXT + Real Traffic).
  10. Yes, everything at 4K. As mentioned for MSFS, the X3D is generally the best option, but it all depends on the GPU you will be getting as well.
  11. Good point. Probably because I am used to doing so with X-Plane. But I'll try using the AAO actions, thanks.
  12. Whenever mapping keyboard shortcuts with AAO, I cannot get Stream Deck to work with those shortcuts. Both Apps are running in Admin mode but, let's say, if I bind Ctrl+Alt+1 to flip the battery on AAO, setting a button on SD to the same combo does not work. Pressing the key combo works and, of course, connectivity between AAO and SD is also fine. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
  13. They removed the watermark from the personal edition and opted to have proper overview (aka control) of who is using that version, especially considering the price difference w.r.t. the other offerings. That is my guess.
  14. Yes, FG is on. Here is the situation on EGLL at 4K, everything on Ultra, DX12, FG but no DLSS and 128 live AI from FSTL (picture washed out due to HDR): 43 FPS - Severely CPU limited, even with the 7800X3D PSXT Info: CPU Info: GPU Info: So, AI Traffic absolutely hammers the CPU, especially in a heavy area and with 100+ live aircraft. As seen above, my GPU was sitting at 38% usage! Thank goodness for FG, otherwise I would have 20fps in such scenarios.
  15. Funny, because the new P3D V6 trailer showcases wildfire activities, similar to what the "game" is doing. Xbox is not a "game" by the way, but a console based on the x86 architecture. Not sure if you are aware, but PMDG is available in Series X | S and it is possible to use advanced controls with it (Throttle + Yoke). In the end we are all pretending to be somewhere we are not. It all depends on how you are using the tools at your disposal.
  16. It does not stop me of course, but it is clear that LM is not interested in improving my experience.
  17. That is great to hear. I believe they would not mention this if the MSFS version was that far behind. FSLabs is generally very laconic and/or precise in their communications…
  18. I have no intention of actually flying a triple-seven, therefore I have never used P3D as “training tool”. Frame Generation would be very useful on a platform that can barely push beyond 25fps in complex scenarios. It is also not mandatory…if you feel it is affecting your precious “training” session, then just turn it off and let us enjoy better performance.
  19. No, I did not. This is a quote from the LM representative who conducted their presentation at FSExpo (as reported some posts above).
  20. Yes, I can. But the LM representative confirmed that their focus is not on that use case.
  21. And that is why P3D has lost the consumer market. Using advanced aircraft is one thing, but I have no interest in a platform that focus only on training. Training == repeating scenarios to exhaustion until proficiency is absolute. I like variety, fidelity and stunning graphics.
  22. Why should they? What has LM showed in this trailer that would trigger a mass return of those who left?
  23. All of them render pixels of 3D objects in a screen and can be used with a keyboard, mouse or Xbox controller by users in a sited or lying position. MSFS is just much more user friendly and effective in drawing new users to the genre, something that should be celebrated by all. If you consider yourself a "hardcore simmer", just take a look at what A2A is doing within the "limitations" of "gamey" MSFS and have fun. Back to P3D: the badly illuminated trailer and focus on weapons systems just speaks for itself. LM is not confident enough to properly showcase their products for a "for entertainment" audience. If the focus is on military contracts, why even attend FSExpo? Home users looking for advanced combat simulation are much better served with DCS anyway.
  24. Yes. It is an issue with the ancient engines both sims are using. XP12 is a little better, but both cannot use modern hardware effectively. The perhaps even older engine from DCS has recently been updated and now performs very well, especially when it comes to multi-threading (FG is still missing, though).
  25. You are wrong. Launching a title in 2023 without Frame Generation is a bummer, especially one that is known to be extremely CPU limited. I had very low expectations for V6 and it seems that this release will be even less relevant that what I’ve thought. Anyways, I might end up buying this just for FSLab’s Concorde (if there is an upgrade path for MSFS, of course).
