  1. McPhats Fokker is looking promising; although I've never had a chance to use any of their other craft, so I'm not sure what the quality will be like.
  2. I would like to know this as well actually, as I purchased fsgenesis ready for global. Look forward to some answers.
  3. I think mine has to honestly be FSX itself. Having grown up in the 90's playing Flight Simulator 95 with Concorde and Flight Unlimited 3, discovering FSX and eventually purchasing the beast to run it with has completely changed my flight simming experience.
  4. Sounds like a great idea, I'd certainly be interested in this. I currently use the HD upgrade for the Goose (can't remember who's it was, but thank you!) and it really gives it a 'payware' quality. Keep us informed!! B)
  5. Hmm... I'm not sure what's happening here since I'm unable to select Wales from the State/Province drop-down. Have you got any 3rd party software installed for the area that could be the cause?
  6. Apologies for the blank post, most unhelpful! Anyway, Welcome to the forum! I've just had a check with mine and can only select 'United Kingdom' as it is, I can't then select a state/province unfortunately, so I'm not sure how that's occurred? However, as Dave has mentioned below, 'Clear Filters' will do the trick for you. Regards,
  7. Quote from Majestic on FB, Dear customers, we receive so many activation requests that our activation server cannot handle them all at a time. It crashes every N minutes, so Oleksiy is monitoring it realtime, restarting it the very moment it goes down. We had to stop Apache server to gain some more memory - so the forum is not available at this moment. Don't worry - every one who bought the package will get the authorization. Just please a little bit of patience. Dimitri So, hang in there! Waiting on mine as we speak...
  8. Thanks for sharing that, amazing how far we've come!
  9. Good afternoon, I for one use GEX+UTX Europe for flying in the majority of Europe and have found it to be a pretty comprehensive package for improving my flying experience in Europe. Of course there are also hundreds of other European location/airport specific addons that are also fantastic, however I mainly fly in the UK, Australia and N.America. If you are looking for the best scenery out there then I would encourage you to take a look into ORBX and FlyTampa amongst others. I have a large majority of ORBX's packages that cover the entirety of Australia, North America, England and Wales. It's been said (I've seen it on here and numerous other forums) that ORBX are leading the way in FSX scenery design. They're the PMDG of scenery if you like; certainly for their respective regions at least. Here's a link to make your like easier http://www.fullterrain.com/ Unfortunately you'll have to wait for someone else to give you a heads up on FSGenesis as I haven't got it, however if my understanding is correct, it's a number of terrain mesh updates that cover the entire world. (Someone will have to confirm this). As for making your flights more realistic I would also recommend looking into a weather engine such as REX or OPUS (especially REX as it has ground textures etc.). Most, if not all, of those on YouTube etc use a weather engine as it creates a more true-to-life flight experience and makes the sim look damn nice! I hope that's helped to some degree and that you get some more answers. Take a look around the forum (esp. screenshots etc) for a better idea of what people are recommending. Out of interest, what do you already have? All the best,
  10. Regarding DOF, are you referring to instrument blurring whilst looking out of the cockpit and vice versa? If so, I know that JV over at the ORBX forums has created a palette that does just that and it works pretty well IMHO. regards, B)

    Your age?

    18 - Used 95 with the Concorde, 02, 04 now X. B)
  12. I'm presuming that you're referring to flying outside of the ORBX scenery coverage area when this occurs? The same issue has been brought up over at the ORBX forums. The best advice from them is to take off from your departure airfield (let's say within EU region), then as you're about to leave the coverage area save your flight, exit FSX, switch in FTX Central to default, then load your flight back up and carry on. This is the only know fix at the moment for this. It seems that some a having the problem, whilst others aren't. I know that the ORBX guys are working on a fix for this but it could take a while. If you have no success hit up ORBX at the forums and see what they can do. Regards, Aleina1 B)
  13. Hi Mike, Personally I do not fly any Airbus' so unfortunately I cannot advise you there, although I hear that Aerosoft's Airbus X is OKAY if you're looking for something reasonably complex, but they don't compare to PMDG's NGX from what I understand. AI traffic wise there are many packages that you can use. A popular one is World of AI (It's Free!) but does take some effort to get working correctly, especially with FSX. I currently use Just Flight's Traffic 360 which I really like and have no problems with. I also understand that Ultimate Traffic 2 is a brilliant package as the flight plans are a little more realistic (if that's what you desire). With regards to terrain upgrades; I am a massive fan of ORBX's stuff. It is exceptional stuff, although their packages for the the W/NW of the USA only stretch down as far as Wyoming (ish). Anyhow, I'd still suggest you check them out. It's money VERY well spent, especially now they've introduced the 'classic' collection. I hope that's of some sort of help, Alenia1 B)
  14. No problem at all, ORBX is great in the sense that the various 'flows' that they include can all be turned on or off to your liking. As well as that you've (apart from certain settings) still got full control over the FSX scenery settings. Within the products manuals the guys at ORBX have even been kind enough to include various scenery settings based on different systems, well a guide at least. Nevertheless you should have little trouble finding the right balance. Hope it all works out in the end! B)
  15. 1. Within your main FSX folder an ORBX folder will be created containing all of the necessary files etc. As you mentioned to apply PNW or return to FSX Default it is just a case of doing so via FTX Central. 2. The ORBX scenery (to my experience) is compatible with both. I use REX and know others that use OPUS without problems. As for your system, that'll probably come down to your main settings within the Sim/Opus/FEX etc. 3. Personally I'm not too sure about this one, although from what I understand the PMDG737 is quite heavy on lower spec systems (someone correct me if I'm wrong! ) But like you say, hopefully you could sacrifice some settings for others. I'm sure ORBX still have a demo of PNW on their main site; check that out and see how you find it handles perhaps? Hope that's helped a little, Regards, Alenia1 B)
  16. I purchased this on Monday after snapping up Reno+Vegas from PC Aviator... can't wait to install now! B)
