  1. I have it installed on 3.1. Default installation steps no issues. However I have the downloaded version. Is it possible its a bad disc, maybe clean it a bit or copy the files to disk and try installing from it.
  2. Neither. I tried them both and saw no visible difference so removed them.
  3. I was having the same issue and tried every tweak in the book, including renaming my cfg and letting P3D re-create it. Finally after several tries this is what finally helped. I know its different for every system but you might want to give it a try. I am running on a i7 quad core (HT disabled). [TERRAIN] SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT=30
  4. Any timelines on when we can expect it to be available ?
  5. Appreciate the post Steve. Very detailed, on topic and informative. Regards, - Hasan
  6. Interesting find. Just a quick note, the earlier topic posted about VAS stress test flight i had taken around NYC without OOM with NYC X and NYC X Airports installed was also done with HT off. But my reason for HT off are different, I keep it off to achive higher clock on the CPU. http://www.avsim.com/topic/476408-p3d-v3-stress-test/
  7. May the "force" be with it..... Certainly looks NextGen stuff with respect to weather generation.
  8. yeah.. the key i think is to have vsync on.
  9. I would like to know if this is possible as well. My monitor does not support 30Hz, but I did get access to one that does and setting it to 30 and then locking frames at 30 got me smoothness that I am not able to reproduce on my monitor. The nv setting it seems doesn't work in a windowed mode.
  10. V3 has HDR controls built into the sim config screen. Its very easy to control the colors and their brightness leves. The colors on my screen are not that bright, I'm not sure why they came out like that in the capture. Regards - Hasan
  11. In order to verify the claims of improvements in P3D V3, VAS memory management I ran a stress test with V3 over the weekend. The testing environment was setup as follows: P3D V3 ORBX FTX Global (updated v3 installer) PMDG 737-600 (updated v3 installer) Drzewiecki Design NewYork City X (standard textures) Drzewiecki Design NewYork Airports X (all airports enabled) nV inspector used for 4x GridSuperSampling ( settings can be seen at the end of the video) nV inspector framelimiter set to 30fps ( settings can be seen at the end of the video) High settings used in P3D My System Specs: i7 OC 4.6 nVidia TITANX OC 16GB RAM 2560x1600 resolution Detailed settings can be seen at the end of the video I chose this configuration because in the past I have never been able to fly around this region in a PMDG 737 with these addons and not get an OOM. For testing purposes I took off from KEWR, enroute to JFK, then to KLGA and then back to KEWR, touch and go in all locations. On the last leg flying through Manhattan trying to force an OOM. As you can see in the video the FSUIPC OOM warning must have triggered at least 6 times, but V3 was able to recover and I was able to complete the flight. That being said as you will see there is still much room for improvement. Very evident with the texture poppings and GPU usage going down to 20% in the middle of Manhattan where GPU usage could be used the most. Drzewiecki Design is also working on a v2 of this addon so we could see improvements here. This is unprecedented in my book, for the first time ever I can fly in this region with my favorite addons. Kudos to the P3D team for addressing the OOM issue, it almost feels too good to be true. It was a breathtaking flight and I really enjoyed it... link to video below: https://youtu.be/lEMlnLaJOqE PS - The colors and sharpness of the video is a step down from the actual gameplay. Also there is a bit of degradation in the overall smoothness. Actual gameplay is smoother than what you see in the video.
  12. FS Recorder worked flawlessly with PMDG in FSX. I was able to make quite a few stunning videos of the 737-600 due to this. But I dig what you are saying, I hope it gets sorted out down the road. Would love to have this functionality returned to P3d.
  13. The built in replay does not capture the flight control surface movements for PMDG aircraft. Not sure if that is a bug in P3D or in PMDG. Would be really nice to get this fixed.
  14. Oh.. this is awesome. Thanks for posting!
  15. Is anyone experiencing severe slowness/stutters with the wing condensation effect ? I had to turn it off, the other effects seem to work fine.
  16. This is the one tweak to rule them all ! Great find. Have never before experienced smoother takeoffs in PMDG 777.
  17. Thx.. Ultimate Traffic 2 Just for reference since some of the shots have the FPS counter turned on. I'm running single montior @ 2560x1600, Titan Black , i7 @ 4.5. The one thing so far that i've discovered doesn't work properly with this aircraft is replay mode. The moving surfaces tend to lock at their final positions when going through the replay.
  18. Just did a flight for KIAD to KFJK.... oh what fun it is !
  19. This is one of my favorite spots. And looks really nice now. Just waiting for NZ Milford and Queenstown to get he same treatment I will be in wonderland!
  20. Brian, Which F15 is that.. awesome shots mate!
  21. haa haa.. to find out the release dates for P3D, one should just look at Pete's vacation calendar
  22. Hi Is anyone using a 21:9 aspect ratio monitor for P3D or gaming in general. I currently use a 30" HP monitor @ 2560x1600. Really want to enhance the experience by getting an expanded FOV. Have looked at the triple screen setups but just can't get myself to commit due to the bezel infringement, color shifts between monitors etc... Was looking at the LG 34UM95-P. It can do 3440x1440. Would be interested to hear about any experiences if anyone has tried it or something similar in this aspect ration. http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-34UM95-P-ultrawide-monitor
  23. Yup that was the case.. Turned them on and like the effect. fps look pretty much the same. Thanks again for the tip!
