October 17, 201510 yr Have you seen this? WEATHER FORCE Looks like REX is very busy transforming weather depiction. Dev stuff, but can't wait... http://www.rexsimulations.com/weatherdirect.html
October 17, 201510 yr May the "force" be with it..... Certainly looks NextGen stuff with respect to weather generation.
October 17, 201510 yr Author What I like most is the ability to infuse the correct cloud textures for the given weather type.... That can't come soon enough!
October 19, 201510 yr Is that what they were calling Weather Direct? Given the name on the link. Yes.!
October 19, 201510 yr Commercial Member Weather FORCE is one of two components of an over all API called Environment FORCE. The two components are Texture FORCE and Weather FORCE. Both of these components of the API will be included with Weather Direct when released. Both will interact with each other to provide - what we like to call an environment which now has "LIFE". An environment that truly interacts with the weather conditions dynamically on the fly while in sim. Reed StoughManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com
October 19, 201510 yr Seems like a nice idea Reed - any idea of a rough timescale for us seeing it please? Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS
October 20, 201510 yr Looks great, can't wait to try it! Thanks for the link. Allen, flight sim lover and AA-5 Traveler owner
October 20, 201510 yr Sounds promising. A dynamic world without having to experiment with different texture sets (i.e restarting the sim) is indeed a relief.

An environment that truly interacts with the weather conditions dynamically on the fly while in sim. I'm somewhat confused by this statement. Does the user have to do something to alter the weather environment, or does it happen organically based on a set criteria? On your product description page, it states the following: "Alter the clouds for a more realistic appearance in regards to the weather situation. If the weather is stormier looking a user can change the colors of the tops and base of the clouds to make them more dark and menacing" I interrupted this as the user needing to perform some action (e.g. button click) to alter the appearance. Is that accurate, sir? Matt King
October 20, 201510 yr Read as the opposite - if you have the Force elements active you don't just get changing weather, you get some variation in clouds too. But as with all REX elements it will also be user selectable, I'm sure.
