If you are going to fly the world, grab Global.. I got it on sale at the X-mas sale.. I had GEX America before, it was ok, but it's just the US and doing the world with GEX would end up costing more than Orbx.. You really should grab an Orbx Region to check them out.. With Pacific Northwest, there are a lot of free airports available, and the paid ones are really nice as well. I was running PNW on top of GEX before no problem. Be aware the freebie and paid airports for PNW are mostly GA size though, not really big enough for Tube Liners if you were thinking of going there. ASN is a definite and also grab Rex4!

When you buy the GTN product you get access to that section in their forums. Their are some good instructions for integrating into the panels of a lot of popular planes.

The update is free! You download and just choose reinstall. Make sure you download the upgraded Garmin trainer software (the setup program brings you right to the download), that way you will get global terrain functionality!

I noticed a big performance hit when I moved from GEX to global, if this would give me a 5 to 10% boost, I'd be happy!

So will someone with a lower end system see a performance boost? I don't care about the 'look' as much as the claimed FPS boost.

Actually, a free instance of GSX comes with that Airport, for use with that one only. you can call the Follow Me Car ;-)

lol. I think they just guess.. Sometimes they guess wrong! I know it's an amazing plane from all the rave reviews, but I am not biting.. When I saw the 17 bucks sale was ready to jump!

Paul, when you purchase you can log onto the private forum and there are a lot of mods available for integrating it into the virtual cockpits of your add on planes. Also A2A C182 and Realair Duke Turbine have setup programs that let you add them to their virtual cockpits. Search on youtube and you can find many videos of the product. I just bought the 750 a week or so ago and I am really enjoying it!

No problem.. when I have the issue it's just on the specific airplane that I've just installed or reinstalled so if you dont' have Ezdok then that answers that! B)

I always have wierd issues with outside Ezdok views if I forget to run the configuration tool after installing or reinstalling a plane.

If you have Ezdok camera, did you run the configurator after adding the aircraft?

I bought the f1 gtn tonight. I saw previous to that there was a selection on page 2 of the config tool for the gtn. I clicked it and nothing happens.

So the config tool says what buttons are available on the unit? If you don't do the config tool is the 2d popup not available? Or do you need to run the tool for each plane? lol.. I'm kind of bummed, since my older boy went to college, I moved up out of the cellar into the playroom with my 15 year old (he already had a desk in there), So down cellar I was spread out on a table with two monitors (could throw the 2d popup into the 2nd monitor).. right now I'm in my older son's armoire type desk with one monitor :-(. I maybe have to move back in the cellar, even though I do enjoy being in the regular part of the house.. especially with flying, easier to walk around and do stuff during long flights.

Why does the 407's config tool have an unclickable GTN integration on page two is that just a tease?

What is the reason for the config tool? At first I thought that set up it's placement in VC?... I'm just bummed, cause I was watching a youtube video of it in the 310, and I heard the b55 it would work too.. It's just depressing when you spend this kind of money for something that you think will be worth it because it would work in all your planes, to find out you have to pay a surcharge on each plane.. Since my kid has started college, I buy myself less toys, it's been awhile, but this one looked like a good investment, looked awsesome in the videos.. I guess I'll just have to save up for the Duke Turbine and A2A 182. it will be awhile.. lol. or I should just try and quit this hobby and find other less expensive Genre's!

Yep, just found that out, really kind of ###### me off.. People say these are great add ons because 50 bucks and you can use it in all your planes.. then I go to Milviz site and they want 10 bucks for each plane.. can really add up.. I'm thoroughly bummed out right now... Making me really hate this hobby that I've already sunk way too much money into... I need to get back into strategy games on Steam.. DCS.. stuff that has sales and doesn't rape your wallet every time you turn around.. I wish I knew this before making the purchase. :angry:

Ugh.. just looked.. didn't know they cost MORE money.. Everyone says what great deal these products are because you can use them in all your planes.. I thought 50 was a lot to pay, but looked cool.. I would think you'd sell more product if you had integration like the new RealAir and A2A.. or do they charge to use too? :wub:

This review said there were 'installers' being made.. http://forum.avsim.net/page/index.html/_/reviews/review-gtn-650-750-avionics-r2357 The 'config' thing that comes with the app doesn't seem to do anything at all... But you can bring it up 2D.. would just not be as fun as getting it in the VC!

I see pictures and video's of the 310 and B55 with them.. Do I have to go on Milviz site to get 'installers' for VC? My 407 has a config app, that has the GTN 750 on the 2nd page, but none of the buttons 'click' on the 2nd page. I bought all my items at different places.. 407 Milviz direct b55 Flight1 310 Will have to search my emails.. too many add ons too many different stores!

Looks very cool.. now I just gotta figure out how to get VC going.. I registered on the Flight1 forum, but don't really see a section of VC integration. Found a review that said if I register on Milviz forum, I can get special setup files for those? I have the 310, b55 and 407. Funny the 407 came with a configuration app, and on the second page GTN is there, but it won't respond to any clicks on the second page. Now I'm gonna have to get that upgrade for the RealAir Duke Turbine.. also grab the A2A 182! Oh, whoa is my wallet!

IE successfully downloaded.. installing now :rolleyes: Wierd, I bought Global FTX during the Xmas sale and had no problem and that is a lot bigger!
