  1. Look into FTX Global and FTX Vector (and upcoming OpenLC) from Orbx. They're not cheap, but will drastically overhaul FSX worldwide. I know that FTX Global has custom autogen trees, but I'm not sure if it corrects the type of tree...maybe OpenLC will do that. And Global Vector may correct the Atlanta river for you...particularly the 1.2 version when its out, as it's going to use a much better data source for North America.
  2. Well if you downloaded all the WOAI model-matching profiles, the models will be your WOAI models...AIA, TFS, Evolve, etc...
  3. Try the newly-released vPilot client. It includes model-matching sets that work flawlessly with WOAI.
  4. Mir said they plan to do both. The question is which will be first.
  5. Guess you could save a flight with zero wind and always load it first, then relocate wherever. But that's more hassle than just setting zero wind every time.
  6. I think ASN SP1 is supposed to fix some of the square pattern issues.
  7. With rounding, the latitude should be 4048.6 but yea.
  8. That's degrees-minutes-seconds-decimal seconds. IIRC, you just need to convert it to degrees-minutes-decimal minutes for entry into the FMC.
  9. And the best just keep getting better! Awesome to see this kind of collaboration between top devs. VATSIM controllers, prepare to handle WX deviations, for reals!
  10. In the FSX weather settings, set it to User-defined weather and set the Wind Speed to None, then try taxiing at LAS.
  11. Only the price difference. From the product page at Just Flight... Note: If you buy the Dash 8 from Just Flight you will be able to upgrade via Just Flight to the next editions when they are available, with the upgrade cost simply being the price difference between the currently owned version and the next version.
  12. See the FSX Set Up section in the NGX Introduction doc
  13. To close the main panel, it has to be unlocked, by deselecting the "LK" button. I'm not sure that the main panel can be resized.
  14. The fact is, both Brendan's tutorial and FS2Crew were designed according to a certain US operator's SOPs, so they will naturally reflect specific US procedures. Maybe if you're outside the US and Canada, ie if FS2Crew is set to a non-US voice set, the Altimeters item could be removed from the descent checklist. Then you would just state "xxx set crosscheck" upon passing the TL.
  15. If you disable HT, and you have a quad-core, then go with 14
  16. And you could put a place/bearing/distance waypoint in the LEGS page and fly it in LNAV.
  17. FS2Crew is always a great addition to any aircraft but IMO it's particularly invaluable in the Dash since it's a very tricky airplane to try to fly single-pilot. It brings your workload back to a realistic level, and allows you to operate the plane according to the SOP's of a real-world operator.
  18. Down low, and at night, Orbx can't be beat. Photoscenery does look great from the flight levels. Orbx's upcoming OpenLC packages should reduce the awful repeating patterns in the default FSX landclass that are very apparent from high altitude.
  19. As far as the weight and balance is concerned, the Majestic config tool shows you where you are within the CG envelope for whatever loading you throw in.
  20. Are you speaking the command very clearly and deliberately, and does it confirm the exact phrase in the green text bar with DSP turned on?
  21. Yup good point. He says he has his affinity mask set up anyways.
  22. That would depend on which weather add-on you're using. For example, ASN has a slider for Maximum Surface Wind, which you could dial down as needed.
  23. The affinity mask tweak helped reduce stutters for me. It restricts FSX operations to certain cores, leaving a core free for all other processes. Assuming you have a quad-core, try putting the following in your fsx.cfg... [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=14 Also you could try running FSX in windowed with the Processes page of Task Manager running on the side, and when you get the stutters, check if a process has jumped up in CPU usage.
  24. Assuming you mean the one referred to in the FS2Crew manual, it's already available on the Majestic site, under Resources -> Tutorials. The associated panel state, wx etc files are available in a sticky in the Majestic forum. According to the manual, XP is supported, but you may need to install the Speech Recognition API (SAPI).
