  1. If you have Nvidia filters, try applying 'Details' at night. You can tweek the settings to your preference, but I found it certainly makes lights pop at night compared to default.
  2. Ah, good to know. I've been trying to get my head around painting in Blender also. Just don't seem to have enough time - always find myself having to go over what I learnt last time I tried 😊
  3. Thanks for your work as always Ryan. Just curious, I recall you saying that painting Carenado planes in P3D was notoriously difficult due to the layout they used. Is it easier in MSFS?
  4. .... Then I highly recommend you check out a new scenery by the very talented Kiwi developer Topgunsi. Having flown helicopters in N.Z for a number of years, this little scenery really captures the feel of a 'typical' North Island farm, and is in a great location near Kerikeri. For only $6 U.S, it is full of detail and well worth it, especially coupled with the freeware Kerikeri airport https://flightsim.to/file/63008/bay-of-islands-kerikeri-nzkk His other sceneries are fantastic too. https://www.topgunsi.com/product-page/northland-dairy-farm-nz
  5. Thats British pounds compared to Australian dollars. Orbx is still slightly more expensive, but only by about $3 Australian dollars.

  7. I had ghosting / artifacts at the edges of the aircraft windows when on the ground, increasing as speed increased. I turned off motion blur and lens correction and that solved those issues for me. You might want to give it a try if you have them enabled.
  8. The ADI and HSI brightness knob is located on the CP467 panel - labelled BRT. It's the panel that controls the NAV source and has the heading and course knobs also.
  9. Yep, I agree the other custom sounds are great, and the system work is exceptional. I'll be purchasing for sure..... just might turn the engine sound down when spooled up so it doesn't sound like a someone planing wood 😉
  10. So true Ryan! I'm disappointed the engine sounds (in the BS TBM) are the default 930. The high buzz saw sound doesn't do the real thing justice IMO, and is quite immersion breaking for me. Milviz did a good job with the PT6 in their Porter.
  11. Sorry, I missed the announcement. You mean they will be implementing the changes as per Biology's work? If so, will it be in the next update? Thanks.
  12. Just did a quick circuit from 27L in the PMDG 737-800, with FSLTL active and performance was much, much better then the previous version. The previous version was a stuttery nightmare for me to the point I didn't use it. V3 is a big improvement and I'll happily fly into here now. Not prefect, but fantastic update. Thanks iniBuilds!
  13. Large helicopters have wheels mainly for taxing purposes. This is due to the amount of down wash caused when landing can be hazardous to surrounding objects / aircraft. Wheels allow the helicopter to land in a safe place and taxi to the hanger or parking spot.
  14. Hi, As a RL helicopter instructor I can only agree with the comments so far, in that it takes practice. In a real helicopter, it's almost magic how you go from not being able to maintain a stable to hover to being able to do so. It usually happens when the student thinks, 'I'm never going to get this', then bam! Good news for sim pilots is that no helicopter in home simulation comes remotely close to replicating the real thing, and is MUCH easier to master. My advice is to have fun practicing, set the controls to max sensitivity, get a head tracking system if you don't have one (you must be able to look down and up quickly to judge decent and spatial awareness) and don't be too hard on yourself! It's ok to have some forward movement when landing. It's never ok to have any sideways or rearward movement. This will tip the helicopter over, or cause a tail strike.
  15. Good video from Jay explaining how your computer parts interact with each other, and where bottle necks can occur. As Jay says, without the right parts working together, 'you're leaving fps (and money) on the table'.
  16. Equal with FSElite IMHO.
  17. Yes, totally agree Michael. Great scenery's, but updates can be hit and miss. You really need to be active on their forums to hear about one if you purchased from their store. Orbx Central (and others like Contrail) make it a lot easier.
  18. Orbx is now selling it. https://orbxdirect.com/product/flytampa-cyyz-msfs
  19. From the Contrail product page, "Download size, 3.61GB, Installation size 13.31GB"!
  20. I agree with your grievance regarding the vagueness of the EULA, but did you read the EULA for MSFS 2020? It basically states that you agree to giving full access of your computer to Microsoft. Similar agreement exists to installing and using Windows. Scary wording when looked at closely. Just how literal they are with those privileges is anyone's guess.
  21. I see Sim Studio have released a version too - https://secure.simmarket.com/studio-sim-kcrq-mcclellan-palomar-airport-msfs.phtml
  22. I think a lot of the hype actually comes from us. It seems all a developer has to do is put out a picture or two, or make a vague statement about an upcoming project, then sit back and watch us as the future consumers take it and run. In a lot of the cases, we are the marketing department! 😄
