  1. Jan, if these were the only two choices you've obviously made the right choice. I also don't want to start an argument. I understand that there is pressure to release (financial or otherwise) but that still doesn't invalidate people's impressions. When one of the biggest ambassadors for our hobby rage-quits in front of a few hundred people, there may be a problem that would have been worth delaying a few hours for (or rather reevaluating your method of beta testing). Don't take this the wrong way. It wouldn't bother me this much if I didn't like the plane as much as I do.
  2. Well, it IS one of the most ubiquitous plugins around, so it really does make you wonder if there ever was a beta test. I'd love to see a single person that hasn't had a fairly in-your-face bug like CDU entries not working or Gizmo crashing. I'm sure the plane will end up being great (it's already great to be honest), but the issues it has make it hard to understand a release at this point. If this had been released by any other developer, people would be furious. I wouldn't dare mention this over on X-Pilot though.
  3. I've had activations reset by them before, and it was a non-issue. However, I always did write that I've had to reinstall, etc. (which is of course true). I would probably do the same and avoid them had the same happened to me. I know but the activation limit exists, but I was just looking around their website and don't see anything that points towards a 3 activation limit. Does that show up during installations? Their refund policy clearly states that once it's downloaded, there's no refund for any reason.
  4. Philipp addresses this here: http://developer.x-plane.com/2014/03/new-approach-capable-gps-navigator-in-x-plane-10-30/#comment-8516
  5. Thanks for the update post and video, Kyle. Looks like things are coming together! Any particular areas of the plane that still need some major work? (if you're willing and able to share that is..)
  6. You can find an actual estimate by IXEG's Tom Kyler here, dated January 8th.
  7. Unfortunate, but understandable. I have yet to catch a live stream, so fingers crossed for a more acceptable video at some point in time.
  8. While the developer not being too active is unfortunate, and there are better weather engine options, the EFASS package as a whole is imho quite incredible. It's my go-to flight planner/e-flightbag/moving map. Works well for me
  9. Thanks for the write-up. There was a recent live stream (or two actually) but the VODs for them have unfortunately both been taken down. Was something specific not up to par?
  10. Absolutely! I'm willing to support any payware developer working on a product of a certain depth. Make it 3, I'll still buy them all
  11. Another note for people with plenty of planes on their wishlists: Carenado (and other developers) have had fairly good sales for Black Friday as well as Christmas in the past. I remember the C208 being just 14,95 last year. Might be worth waiting if you're planning on buying a few.
  12. If you're looking for best in terms of realism, the Airfoil Labs C172 is probably the best there is at this point. Also in that category is Carenado's Centurion 210, as there is a Reality Expansion Pack for it. The F33A is getting one soon too.
  13. Fantastic. I've actually started purchasing all of their scenery. Great detail yet still solid performance.
  14. I've been thinking about picking up their New York airports package. If detail and performance are anywhere close to their other products such as Tallinn or Moscow, I'll be more than happy with it.
  15. Hey Kyle, appreciate the insight. I figured as much regarding the FMC. I know you've mentioned not being part of the X-Plane team, but I (and a few others in this thread as I've seen) would really be interested to hear about PMDG's experience getting started in X-Plane. Were some things more difficult (other than learning the ropes) or a lot easier than on the ESP-based sims you develop for? Any interesting lessons learned? Really looking forward to the DC-6!
  16. Great news, looking forward to it on XP10 Or we can hope for it to work with Shared Cockpit!
  17. I just spoke to Robert, he said you could. Go ahead. B)
  18. Hi Stanislaw, I just picked up your EETN scenery from Aerosoft. I'm not really interested in flying there a lot, but I want to make sure you continue to release scenery for X-Plane. I'm sure you are smart enough to not judge sales based on a smaller less popular airport on Simmarket. I don't think many X-Plane users purchase add-ons from them. the x-plane.org store, Aerosoft and X-Aviation are probably the main sources for X-Plane users. That said, I had a quick peek at it and have to say it looks absolutely fantastic, I will give your scenery a try and stream it a bit in the coming days!
  19. I don't think anything decent exists right now. I wish we had more "flavour" plugins like these for X-Plane, but I am sure it will take a while to see commercial developers produce any (if any at all). One of the things I also somewhat miss is something like FSPassengers.
  20. Tons and tons of photoscenery from simheaven.com
