  1. If you're using an SSD and enjoy a reasonably quick boot time. it's a good idea to reboot the PC before starting the sim anyway.
  2. I know, but Vic is more than a name, it's a song... And it's chocolate mini Mars Bars, not lemon tea. Managed to dose the neighbourhood brats with chocolate ex-lax during their halloween door-to-door scrounging last night, so as you might imagine it's been very quiet in the street today. Smelly, but quiet...
  3. Because I choose to. And he's not `your` moderator, he's `our` moderator, based on aged moderation maturation... https://youtu.be/YlbcNvlseVI
  4. If you open FTX Central and DONT get a prompt for ORBXLIBS update, then they are installed. Do re apply the region anyway. Possibly you have a saved flight that is putting the aircraft into the wrong gate, or one that is already populated. On startup, select a runway instead and taxi to the gate, or simply try a different gate. Locations of things may have changed on the airport. That may be all that is in issue.
  5. If using P3D v3 it is no longer necessary to step in and out of windowed mode to change DSR settings. Just ensure that you have set up a DSR setting in NVIDIA Control Panel - Manage 3d Settings - Global settings tab - DSR (check boxes for the DSR options you want), Apply and then quit out of NVCP. Start sim and select the required resolution directly - the DSR options will appear in the GUI below the native resolution. Select the one you want. Should be it.
  6. I came over here from `over there` for the more informed comment. You don't seem to be supplying it. Vic will assure you I don't suffer fools. At all. P3D is a fresh release in V3 `mould` - any intelligent consumer would appreciate that porting, crossover and installer issues will take some time to resolve. If you choose to buy into it at this early stage, you should expect to wait while the aftermarket catches up. What I don't get is why you aren't positing your thoughts in the FTX forums, or at least reading what they've already written as your questions are fully answered already. Afraid of Venema perhaps ? All you need is a little patience, and some understanding of why things need changing. The FTX forums will help you with the latter.
  7. Or you should have waited until it was released before purchasing v3 if the `flows` are that important to you. Perhaps you could explain why? FTX made it PERFECTLY clear that v3 would need adaptation after release. Don't know what you expected, but it's the expectations that are wrong, not FTX's delivery strategy. Look how much has already been ported or converted in just 30 days after release !
  8. Freeing of resources previously used in image generation for the `behind the scenes` simulation of systems and dynamics seems to have reset the balance so that accurate flight models have more `life` to them in v3, but in truth there has been no work done on the flight modelling side. As I recall the FDE engine was licensed by MS not originated or owned by them. Unless that changed with P3D under L-M there will be no changes in the near future. But the longevity of the structure seems to be showing considerable rewards with addon developers who program outside the core engine. A2a accusim continues to improve with every update, PMDG have really conquered the `feel` of the 737 and Majestic seem to have mastered the curious dynamics of the Dash 8 - Q400, right down to the very different flying (landing) characteristics between partial and full-flap.
  9. Then fly in P3D v2.5. It works fine in that.
  10. https://www.fullterrain.com/support#orbxlibs D/l 151001, run the installer, then run FTX Central again (it will probably open anyway) and re-Apply the Europe region. Always install these updated libraries last, no matter what you install before. These are updated fairly frequently and you will be prompted through FTX Central.
  11. Julian, Just to ask again as you haven't confirmed this - did you install the latest FTX libraries ? Invisible buildings are caused because the scenery calls them, but the textures aren't installed. Nothing at all to do with Mesh, or mesh settings. You haven't done anything silly like install addon airports or scenery for FTX England ? You know they're not v3-ready? Perhaps you could provide a clearer view of what you have installed, and how you did it. At the moment it's like looking at the universe through a letterbox. Do include systems specifications as without those, we have no idea what could be causing your problem. I've got England and Global, Open LC AND UTX Europe installed on my rig, and there are NO building crashes.
  12. PMFJI but this is a simple matter of just plugging in the new Quadrant to its own USB connector and assigning or reassigning control assignments to suit. There should be no need to unplug the existing quadrant - you can find alternative uses for the levers or simply unassign them so they do nothing. The ONLY reason for needing to remove the existing quadrant is physical - you need the space on the desk or the cockpit. If you dont' then make life easy, just plug your Throttletek unit and and assign from there. If you use the control assignments within the sim itself it will ALWAYS prompt you for duplicate assignments.
  13. If that happens, reload the aircraft and wait - it seems like the systems take an age to load under v3. This means I can only start a flight on the ground. Possibly a Simconnect issue?
  14. So far I've found no use for EMT whatsoever - what works in v3, works. What doesn't cannot be made to work by use of a sneaky installer.
  15. Keine Probleme here. In fact the two co-exist very happily with separate, combined or modified versions of addons.
  16. Check in the MJC Q400 control panel that the FDE is sync'd to the sim, then if necessary limit the fps in the simulator. It sounds like things are getting out of phase and then the CPU is skipping to get things back into synchronicity.
  17. Throttles should be set to the stop to enable the selected power setting for take off. There's a detent precisely for that purpose on the Power Levers - RATING
  18. It makes no difference as you Apply the Region to make it dominant. You do that through FTX Central. The installer places the elements in the right order unless you have some kind of non-standard setup.
  19. There won't be one until L-M fix the issues with v3. It's clearly stated on the Majestic forum http://majesticsoftware.com/mjc8q400/support.html
  20. No, they have to be rewritten for v3.
  21. Or just set a spare button to the mixture control - I use Page up and Page Down. You only adjust the levers once after startup or once after t/d anyway, so if you don't have FSUIPC it's probably not worth the trouble of assigning levers.
  22. Just an extra thought, you did unzip the installer before trying to run it?
  23. All the time. It's why I went Pro. Well one reason.
  24. Although I have downloaded 1.30 as I had it for FSX, I dont think I will replace my current FTX Global/UTX Europe/America install as it's not just about the fps, it's also about the options and increased variation in UTX - in particular the night lighting. I'm warming to the ground spots ! But if I fly outside the Europe area covered by UTX, what always attracted me to Vector is its global reach. If only I could find a simple way to turn off the electricity pylons in UTX - it's a single click in Vector. The flickering drives me nuts.
