  1. I had no installation issues and it found each correct path to installed Sims, having said that there is a lot of learning to do to get this up and running, and a quick look shows that there are a lot of missing airlines. Traffic Global doesn't seem to show those AI flights already installed, I'm reluctant to generate any flights in my region (Oceania) in case it overwrites my already installed ones. It's early days with Traffic Global and it is only Early release, but it shows potential and like any new release it will develop with time. My biggest gripe is that it asks if you want to install to a folder other than the default, but then install all of the aircraft and bgl files (4gigs worth) to your C:\Documents folder which, if you have a limited sized drive could cause problems, it then only installs minimal files to the folder that you selected during installation. There is only an 'in App' manual, so you cant print a . pdf copy and study away from your PC.....still..it;s early days. Footnote.. The manual can also be accessed from the Options Menu...Product Manual , whereby it opens up as a Word Docx (14 pages) which can then be saved within to a pdf file for easy transport between devices
  2. Thats good to know, I wish they would do something with stock weather generation and cloud textures.
  3. I may have given the wrong answer here I provided info for Carenado Saab 340 not the Les. I have both but not the GTN750 for for the Les version. Apoligies for the confusion.
  4. Go to the Saab aircraft folder and run the ###GTN750.exe (don't know the exact name, I'm away from my PC) file to install, The other ###.exe removes it.
  5. I have just posted a video comparison of this aircraft in Prepar3D v4.1 and XP11.20r3 on YouTube. The flight was made on the same route in the afternoon. I AM NOT offering an opinion on which platform is better, and encourage those who view this post to take it the context that it is - just seeing how the Saab 340 appears visually in both. I fly both regularly, and enjoy both. The video is unedited raw, with no post processing or editing, other than a title text added, so it appears rough in some scenes, especially my landings. I made the video for my own benefit to see how the aircraft looked in both Sim Platforms and after viewing thought maybe that others might be interested. Carenado is up first and Les starts at 22:20 Make sure you view in HD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4E9rHZKi968
  6. Nice Shots - How do you get XP11 to look so colorful and vibrant, mine always looks drab, dull and flat looking no matter what settings I apply.
  7. Go to the Carenado SF34 Aircraft folder and run the F1GTN750S34.exe file, it will install the GTN to the VC panel to the lower right of the the control yoke where the stock GPS was installed. To remove run the NOF1GTN750S340.exe.
  8. Andrew, Why not have a go yourself, if it's just the rego number you want the paintkits for PMDG are easy to use and have excellent documentation. If you don't have Photoshop or similar, use the free Gimp program that you can use to edit the .psd files.
  9. From memory, the QW757 does not have a 'ready to fly' panel state but there are numerous videos and tutorials on startup procedure. In response to your error message, answer here...a good place to start to look for problems http://qwsim.flight1.net/forums/p3dv3-gauges-missing_topic6645.html. Although it mentions P3D, FSX has same issues.
  10. Stan, I too like this aircraft and purchased the Carenado version from Day one of release, the visuals inside and out are extraordinary and will not leave you disappointed. There is the usual lack of documentation from Carenado, but they have utilized a menu system allowing several states of aircraft readiness, the last being fully powered up systems and engines ready to fly. I have the GTN750 installed which hides down low of the panel to the right of the yoke - very hard to use in this location but a click spot opens it up to a full window. As mentioned previously, it comes with the Carenado Nav System, which disables if the GTN is installed - so I can't comment on that operation. I did a 90 minute flight from YMRB to YBBN (Moranbah to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia). I set the cruise altitude to FL200, created a direct route FP in the GTN. I took off at dusk which allowed the external and cockpit lighting show - which is quite functional and impressive. After takeoff, the climb was set at 1500fpm which got me to cruise no problem, the 340 is supposed to be able to climb at 2000 fpm but with this dialed in the airspeed bled off alarmingly around FL140, so 1500 was the happy medium. At cruise, the airspeed showed an indicated 220kts with a GS of 266knots, which is similar to that of the X-Plane Les Saab 340. Descent into Brisbane was set at 1500 fpm and the Saab picked up the SINNK localizer into Rwy19 and followed the correct glideslope with a autopilot disconnected at 1000 feet and the final approach flown manually. The Saab is very responsive and does not appear, at this stage, to have any vices, after touchdown I taxied to the gate and was able to shutdown using the levels, I did not have the reported issue of not being able to shut it down using this method. All things considered, this is a fine aircraft and Carenado keep getting better (except maybe with documentation) It is not a study level aircraft like the Majestic Q400 but is still in depth enough for the Novice or Purist to enjoy. The cockpit detail is unbelievable, it must look so real in VR, something I do not have. My advice Stan, you won't be disappointed if purchased, it is an aircraft that you can just get in and fly OR take the time and go through the start up yourself - each flight will be a learning curve for the next flight. Hope this helps Steve
  11. The included Rex Australia VH-RXP is real world
  12. Any available updates will be shown when you run FTX Central.
  13. XP textures, buildings, objects and depictions look nothing like Australia, whereas Prepar3d stock is slightly better but with ORBX added they come close to the real thing. I've been adding various 'Aussie' scenery, orthos and objects to XP, but it's a long way to go to look like the real deal. The biggest let down in XP, for Australia, is the landscape coloring of rocks and trees, they look more like the American Rockies than the Australian temperate and Desert climates. Orbx in P3D have nailed the coloring of Australia's 'Red Center', XP is nothing like it. Still, XP is evolving and now that 3rd party developers including ORBX have started creating XP scenery it's only a matter of time before it will equal, if not exceed, P3D for accurate scenery of Australia.
  14. As as a 20+ years dedicated FS, FSX, now Prepar3d user I am overwhelmed by the realism and immersion of XP11. As a P3D purist I balked at paying for any 3rd party aircraft for XPlane, but after viewing many videos on the Carenado C210M, I committed with no regrets. I am having a ball flying VFR and some IFR around my native Australia. My next purchase will be the reality pack for the 210. This shot was taken on a flight from YCTM (Cootamundra) to YSWG (Wagga Wagga), two towns in western NSW, 8000 feet cruise at 175kts. The C210 is well suited to outback flying because of the large distances between towns.
  15. Jim, I have been an Active Avsim Member for Several years, have made 1000+ posts and have some member ratings accredited. Within the last 24 hours I tried to change my email address, as my old one had been hacked and I was receiving 300+ spam email bombs in a 24 hour period (not hacked from Avsim). On the Avsim site,I completed the necessary new email change field in my Profile, submitted and was told I would receive a validation email to to verify my new email address......I received no such verification email. I then tried to login into my Avsim account using my old email address (the one I tried to change) and was told that there was "no such email address", obviously it had been wiped after I updated to my new address. My old or new emails are not recognized. I then submitted an email to Avsim using the Contact link explaining my dilemma. I received emails from yourself and ckreznor stating that a new Account had been created under my old Display Name (JustanotherPilot) I was provided with new login details. PROBLEM: When I log in using the details provided by Avsim, I find that I am a new member!, the new login was not linked to my old Account and I now have no history of posts, signature, content followed or notifications. I have been processed as a New Member instead of an existing member trying to update my details Can you rectify this so that I can have my old identity back. I have these forums using details provided by Avsim after my initial inquiry and as it can be seen -no post, no credits and no signature Steve Southey
