As per usual the knives are out to defend Microsoft (it's not Asobos fault here) with poor analogies whilst completely missing the main point; MS provide a service to the simulator, that service is interrupted, what is the backup plan? There is none... So sure the initial service has issues, but Microsoft need to have a backup plan to bring into full effect when that service goes down and it's not like this is the first time is it!? No it's not MarcG, this has happened many many times before hasn't it! Yes it has but here we are, live weather down, again.

If they don't take cash then yes, they need a backup plan.

These constant (yes they are constant) Live Weather Outages don't bode well for the future, if it is to do with METAR reporting then they need a fall option to solely use meteoblue (like what we had pre-SU7 when it was better...).

hehe true, the way I see it is they already have their questions and this Form is a polite way of pretending that they're gonna ask some community ones. Hence they got rid of the Voting format so people can't ask why the top 5 most voted for questions never got answered, good old MS eh!?

Totally agree with everything you've said Bob, but, to quote that one line that is the internet in nutshell. Forums have been the same since their invention in the 1990s, social media has only made it worse via the ease of use, ergo nothings gonna change unfortunately as the human brain hasn't evolved enough so that everyone can be civil all the time. The mods can only do so much thread clearance & banning, eventually the cycle begins again and we're back where we started. These days I look at this way; Trolls; Obvious ones are to be laughed at because they waste their time hating on something that doesn't affect them but only for the glee at getting under the skin of the... White Knights; They bury their heads in the sand, throw rose petals at the feet of whoever or whomever they are admiring and damned be fooled if they're gonna sit quietly whilst the Trolls have a feed (the cycle!) The Rest Of Us; time for a cuppa tea 🙂

This is a bizarre shift, the forum structure with Votes was alright and seemingly worked (not that they ever picked all the top voted questions) but to hide it behind a wall and no doubt get inundated with the same questions to sift through? They've given themselves a ton more work, doesn't make sense to me.

On the other hand competition is good as it keeps you on your toes, we wouldn't of got to the moon if it wasn't for the USA & Russia going at it. So if someone else comes to the party to challenge MS for a true World Sim, then I'll gladly sit back and watch the development of both unfold, without that competition it could take MS longer to reach that goal if that is what they're aiming for of course.

If they could incorporate a racing Sim Dev to introduce tracks into the world then that'd be incredible for me, since this Sims release I've dreamt of being able to fly to race tracks then get in the car to race against others then fly home again.

It would be good as that's what has been predicted by many since the very beginning, the potential for an actual World Simulator is right there and the only thing holding it back is the vision and willingness of MS to go forward with that thinking. Be interesting to see if MSFS 2024 starts to become something more than "just" a flight Sim. Of course the current one already does, but in a hacky kind of way with the sea physics and lack of terrain detail/roads for ground based vehicles.

When I first watched this trailer it reminded me of an aircraft that used to fly from its home base at EGKA a lot in the 80s/90s/00s.
