  1. ...or it could be people just being facetious, not everything in life has to be stern serious 24/7 😉
  2. He said 12 million June, wants to get his stats right!
  3. Nope but they did add this; General It is now possible to slow down the simulation speed to 1/8 and 1/16 of real time. good to see coding time going on such highly requested features and not bugs from years ago 🤣🤦‍♂️
  4. It's the circle of updating argument that I've seen in racing Sims as well "why isn't all the default cars updated to the latest physics?", answer is it takes time to update every single car and in this case aircraft. Fast forward a year and there's more physics updates, aircraft need updating again but some fall behind which whilst is a shame it isn't the end of the world. Fact remains, as posted by others, the Devs here are actively working on improving most if not all physical aspects of the flight simulation and ground physics are part of that. Whether we get that in MSFS2020 or MSFS2024 is irrelevant to me personally, it's just good to know they're working to improve it, which is better than doing nothing at all.
  5. Yeah the White Dot debacle shouldn't happen again, that was an issue two years in the making which manifested itself and got 10x worse in SU12 Beta and not fully "fixed" until SU13, see "Quality Control or lack thereof" and "beta testing is supposed to find these issues so you fix them before public release", two great drumming albums some in the community have been banging for years...! I fully expect them to fix this Assistance issue during this beta (as they claim to have done internally already)
  6. Totally agree on the Seb point as I posted earlier in the thread. They may not intentionally lie, but to say they'll talk more about a subject next time then not bother is poor form, as for the weekly updates they are mainly pointless but I've gone over that area before 😉
  7. Sorry but that's absolute nonsense, there's a beta ongoing now so not sure where you're getting the "grinding halt" thought process from. If anything Jorg openly admitted to wanting too much from the devs in the first place with his ridiculous notion they should release an update every month without beta testing....no lead developer with half a brain would suggest that to a team. Thankfully as time has gone on the updates have become more robust and less often, still not without issues it has to be said and the beta process is still a shambles at times but they've by no means ground to a halt. Just to pick up on the bolded part and coming from someone whose not been around flight sims for ever, they may well communicate more than any other flight sim dev but that doesn't mean it's good communication. The Q&As - as discussed countless times - are mere marketing shows, as I said earlier on just go back and re-read the transcripts and see how much has been complete hot air mixed with stuff that has come to light, the number of times they've clearly side swiped a question, brushed stuff under the carpet, said they'd talk more in detail another time but then they never do - that's not being very open at all. The point of communication is for it to be precise when it needs to be which in this case it is not; Radio silence during the Flaps debacle, lack of acknowledgement after the graphical downgrade of SU5, nothing about the continuous Live Weather METAR issues since SU7, the constant server downtime, the live weather downtime, the marketplace issues, the severe lack of beta interaction etc etc. So yeah they may be communicating "more" than the past and/or other flight sims, but having come from decades of gaming/beta testing on a whole variety of gaming genres they are nowhere near the level of communication I've witnessed from other gaming developers, especially when it matters most. It seems the flight sim world is in it's own bubble at times, having (as I said) been part of many games from Alpha to release and thereafter, this MS/Asobo show is very far from perfect and it showed early on with the infamous "what lightning in clear skies bug?", since then the cracks in their communication have been very very obvious and they're not getting any better. The reliance to hide behind official forum devs during the beta periods is a painfully obvious area that needs to drastically improve, yes the game is great and we all want the best from it, but 3+ years on I'm not seeing any improvement on this communication front at all.
  8. I don't get World Map CTDs, but I have noticed a lot more lagging and screen freezes lately even trying to plan routes, it eventually comes back to life and I carry on.
  9. You mean like the time they dumbed down the physics in thunderstorms so players could fly through them in a C152...and then openly admit to it in an early Q&A.... 😉
  10. It's interesting and sad (both ways) to re read the Q&A from months/years back and see what they say compared to what has actually happened since. An immense amount of hot air and marketing BS surrounded by fantastic insights from Seb, feature partners and stuff. As ever less talk more work is best, don't say stuff for the sake of it, just do the job and surprise us.
  11. Q&A March 2022; Forum Community Question - When can we expect live weather to be enhanced with more data (aerosols, desert data, pollutants) from Meteoblue? Jorg - I think you guys have pointed out some of the shortcomings. We know there are issues with the METAR and specifically the visualization of it, too. We want to fix what’s there now before we do a bunch of other stuff. We have gigantic goals for weather. We are going to get different data streams. More data streams, from not just Meteoblue but also from other providers. But let’s take one step at a time. Let’s fix what we have, make sure that it all works, and then do things like that. I’ve wanted a sandstorm since we launched They've still not fixed it...(METAR bubbles still exist, transitions can still be hard at times etc) but yeah let's focus on sandstorms eh!?
  12. Q&A January 2022; Community question – Any updates on VR? Jorg – We are going to talk about it next month. They never did....
  13. It's well known their communication is appalling when it needs to be precise, when it doesn't need to be they release a Q&A with smiles and rainbows and pretend everything is ok.
  14. I think that was always gonna happen to be fair, maintaining one product and creating a new one will have a crossover effect whereby they'll have to say "is it worth fixing this now? Or do it better in the next sim?". A topic that's saved for another day is what do the community do when MSFS2024 gets released, it could well be that they rip apart MSFS2020 and actually make it better than the original with hacks and what not (see Assetto Corsa as a prime example of when the community takeover and create something great). That could mean that people hang around and avoid purchasing the next sim for some time, be interesting to see what unfolds.
  15. I think there's two main areas going forward; 1. SU14 onwards stick with Asobos values, whilst they will not be for everyone they are at least better than previous. To top it off a new sim coming next year anyway with its own changes so it'll be forgotten eventually. 2. Find out the Asobo changes and create tools similar to what we have now, modders like to experiment, work things out and make changes just for fun (and I'll wager a bet that biology is no different in that area!). Like other titles once this current one stops getting updates then modders will continue to create tools, mate baggage alterations etc going forward. So those who remain loyal to this Sim may like to see further advancements in this particular area over what Asobo have done with SU14, as I can guarantee they won't touch it thereafter.
  16. Nope it's not that (I do suffer from that issue as well), this is a clear change in the trees colour as though the app isn't applying the autumnal colours to all the trees in the same area.
  17. I'm seeing very sharp changes of autumnal colours and sharp greens, noticed this in a couple of places over France. Whilst the autumnal colours do look good, where there's that transition it ruins immersion, it's not uniform across an area.
  18. If the mod can work on SU14 and people want to continue using it then that's fair play, no doubt the Asobo changes won't please everyone so at least the option may still be there.
  19. Just had a lovely flight through the French Alps, I hope that's miserable enough for you.
  20. I love this hobby thanks but as above my head isn't buried in the sand pretending this Sim is gloriously free of bugs, I have just as much right to air my views as you, thank you come again 😊
  21. Yep, the problem thereafter was they didn't fix many of those bugs a year+ post release (according to those who were in the alpha, I wasn't).
  22. No one is denying it's a great Sim, I love it and I wouldn't be here otherwise but I'm not and never have been shy to air my views on things they could blatantly do better. We all want the best for the Sim, we just post about it in different ways 🙂
  23. It's pointless shouting they don't listen, there's regression bugs dating back 2+ years now, the evidence is clear for all to see. IMO the beta periods have largely been a complete shambles from the very start (remember when we did shout and they did listen it was to add beta periods in the first place, how they fathomed a Sim of this size could survive without them God only knows). Granted they have got slightly better but at a glacial pace and still without some very basic beta features that a company of Microsoft's calibre should not be missing, but here we are with what I consider to be a mess of a system and having been on countless beta periods for countless games/Sims for over the years I repeat again - MSFS (still) has the worst I have ever seen in all my time of being involved in them.
