Yes unfortunately this is putting me off a purchase, the Royal Pavilion in Brighton is cleaned on a regular basis but the in the video from ORBX it looks like it did on the day it was built. I like to see old buildings properly weathered, which has put me off these packs in the past. I'll think about it though, as aside the clean look they have gone into great detail with all the POIs.

How's MSFS2024 gonna cope with being a more stream based Sim? 😐 A bit worrying with all these server related issues and evidently no fallback plan.

Yes I do the same out of habit now, this particular CTD started around SU12 for me IIRC but may be later, occasionally I forget and zoom right in then suddenly MSFS closes itself 🤦‍♂️

I've never understood why they decided to do it this way, once the time is set then it's should stay the time you want it to be. Unless it's a bug that crept in, can't recall if it's always been like this but it's very annoying either way when planning.

Good grief man a simple text error in the UI is a simple text error, you type on a keyboard and voila...fixed. Not every bug has to be complex code only the brain surgeons of coders can fix!

A simple text error took two updates after being reported in one beta...

Doubtful as that's no way to run a beta, but then this is MS and their Betas for this sim have been highly questionable since they belatedly introduced them! I reckon it's simply low on their priority as they don't appear to have much interest in fixing UI issues, I've seen with past UI bugs it takes them an age to fix even the easiest of issues.

Thanks to the OP I grabbed this mod as I'm pretty familiar with the G1000 but by no means an experienced (sim) pilot, never really flown the KingAir so quickly ran through the checklist and up I went. 50ft into the flight and the avionics all went black, no idea what was going on (Bug or Human Error) so as I steadied the aircraft and flicked and pulled all manner of switches until eventually the thing came back to life, then I couldn't get the AP to function. Eventually realised I hadn't turned on the Avionics in my moment of madness post take off, then I kept getting the yellow warning about YD not being turned on, never come across this before so had to do a quick google and then switched on the Yaw Dampener.....you live and learn! As if that was bad enough further into the flight I get a warning about fuel tanks, one side had drained too much, again in my earlier hastiness I must've moved the button for fuel tank usage or something, I had wondered why the plane was listing to the left. Aside all that it's nice to have another plane with a familiar setup, I've flown the Caravan so much the G1000 has become the norm to me, just the rest of aviation I still need to learn 😄

Speaking from experience of simulations/games that involve; A) Continuous Updates by the developer and B) Community driven Modding, a complete uninstall-reinstall every so often/every year/whatever isn't the worst idea in the world. It becomes a complete faffing nightmare when you have to move controller bindings and reset in game menu items and all that (hopefully MSFS isn't that bad due to the cloud structure) but in the end it can be worth it to "clean up" the softwares installation. Same goes for the OS although I personally do that every 3-4 years just to clean out the junk anyway. I think with MSFS another issue could be the many 3rd party apps that are also installed that feed into the Sim, so you're not gonna want to uninstall-reinstall all of those either, but one of them may be potentially "leaking" in the CTD which would be a nightmare to find. Essentially there's a gazillion scenarios on your own PC that could lead to a CTD, chances are they'll clear up magically one day as I've experienced with other games and you're left wondering "how?" !

There's a T-6 with the Reno Pack isn't there? Not got it it so can't comment what it's like.

Ok to sum up; MAIN ISSUE; MS don't have a fallback plan when the Live Weather service they use goes down, so in this instance the METARS stopped reporting so you'd think the fallback would be to use Meteoblue 100% in those areas, but they don't - Why? (rhetorical question no one here can answer, maybe one of the Q&A) Go to the Official Forums and search for Live Weather and see how many threads are created with the added words "down" and "broken" and "not working" etc, there's a lot more than some of you may think which shows this is a widespread issue whether it affects you/everyone or not. It may be server specific, time specific or a whole manner of possible reasons, the very facts are this happens a lot and IMO far too much for it to be brushed under the carpet like so many other issues with this Sim. Granted the Live Weather down periods don't appear to last too long (thankfully), a few hours at most but that does not mean they might not get worse another time, imagine the bedlam if it went down for 24hrs+ or a few days or even a week!. Regardless of the length of time it's an issue that needs dealing with, that much is very clear (pun intended) "Live Weather rarely goes down for me" "I just use a preset" - yep that's great but that doesn't mean there isn't a problem, ignoring the issue or using a workaround suits you that's nice, but not everyone wants to use Preset Weather that looks exactly the same all over the Planet, think of other people not just yourselves and it could lead to a better sim for everyone. The more people that speak up about these continuous Live Weather "blackouts" (so to speak) the better as MS may actually listen, history says there's a 50/50 chance of that.

I had a mix of USB stuff with the box ticked & unticked, I've now unticked them all (just to be safe). Go through them all in device manager, not all of them will have the Power Management option but the ones that do untick the Allow box and see what happens. I'd also check if your keyboard/mouse have a setting to "go to sleep" or something like that, heard that has caused issues with games in the past.

That USB Power Box was the issue back in the early days of VR for me, for whatever reason the OS thought I wasn't using it when I was so it shut VR down mid game and bang CTD! So that could well be the issue of it thinks one of your devices isn't being used perhaps (when it is), I'll check mine to see what they say now as I'm not suffering from CTDs.
