Sentient machines aren't on the horizon right now though. Or for the foreseeable. There's no evidence at all to suggest we will have anything but highly effective, specialised, but importantly unconscious and unmotivated algorithms to solve problems in the future. The robot wars (which would be less of a war and more of an absolute eradication should we hit singularity level intellect that doesn't want us around) just aren't coming anytime soon. Cognitive neuroscience has absolutely no idea what the root cause of consciousness is. Best guess is a byproduct of our billions of synapses firing at once. An accident of evolution and potential illusion of self control. And I say this as someone extremely excited about the potential of AI to solve problems. (You commented on a topic close to my heart, ML engineer with a love of neuroscience)

I've had the same problem. I think it's a bug as I've used the HotStart TBM a lot and believe I'm doing the right thing. I saw someone asking this on the official forums too. Weirdly the aircraft follows the route, you just can't see it!

Thank you guys. I hadn't realised it was the aircraft and not the mod. In many ways this is good news because I can plug the mod into my 172 instead and use this :) Thank you very much.

Hi guys. Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately I've to remove it. Using it with the Carenado PA44, upon programming a SID out of KSAN, when I enabled vertical speed at 1000fpm and navigation to follow the GPS, the plane takes a literal nose dive at the ground. Absolutely no idea why. Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause of this?

Hello all, I am looking to go onto Vatsim soon and I'd like to improve upon the default navigational system with the Carenado PA44. I've heard a lot about the WT mods, and the A32X by FBW, but less so about this mod: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/gns530-mod/296598 Is this a worthwhile installation, does anybody have experience with it? If so, will it improve my experience on Vatsim? Thank you, Luke

If I'm honest I'm not sure what those two things are (I'm British!). So the comparison was lost on me!

Hah I don't like the Mooney at all. The FPS tanks for me when I turn on specific lights, and the aircraft has a structural failure when I open the windows at 60 knots. Very unhappy with it. If the 149 is a lot better I think I will buy it 🙂 Thank you for your reply

Hello all, merry xmas! I have a subscription to navigraph because I like their charts app. Is it worth installing the navigation database too? I use the WT CJ4 mod, and when the Aerosoft CRJ is out I'll buy that too. I fly on Pilotedge and Vatsim too. Does the database work seamlessly, or can it cause problems for addon aircraft? Thanks :)

Oh I see! I was under the impression Asobo had broken this rather than it being a mix of the update plus the mod. My mistake - I should have waited to speak. My apologies to Asobo! I've word not allowed down for the night now but will absolutely take a look at reproducing tomorrow 🙂 thank you.

The mod and team are amazing which makes it more painful that such a fantastic mod is unusable (at least for me, I can't speak for everyone of course) above fl30 which is where it spends most of its time 😕

Hi everyone, I'm still quite new to FS2020 as I took a long break after it first came out due to a few of the early limitations of the sim (I like flying jets with IFR). I just downloaded the new patch and used the WT CJ4 mod (updated for the new patch, huge thanks to the modders for their amazing work!), but once I passed 30k ft the jet started bucking like a bronco. I thought perhaps it was turbulence so I disabled the AP and hand flew, however the occilations entirely disappeared. Am I doing something wrong, or do we still have the same broken AP at high altitudes we had in August? If it makes a difference, I was using the jets FLC mode to climb at Mac .64 A big shame if so. I hope Aerosofts CRJ implements custom autopilot that doesn't do this, if it is indeed the sim rather than user error. Thank you.

Hello all, I was curious about which of these aircraft is the more complete from a simulation point of view. I know they're both considered good, but is one considered the superior similation to the other?

I'm a software engineer on a dev team of about 20, in London. We've been absolutely fine working fully remotely. If anything - more productive than ever. Between VSCode shared sessions, Slack, Hangouts, Jira etc there's absolutely no reason software can't be worked on to an incredibly high standard during quarantine. Many friends in the industry are saying the same - if anything, productivity and focus has improved outside of office life. Certainly no excuse here.

Yeah I'm very regular on P3D - it's awesome albeit it a bit pricy. For me it's worth the money but I know everyone's different :) They have exceptional training materials and a fantastic discord community too if you're at all interested!

I was considering reinstalling XP11 the IFR training on PilotEdge. Do you use any OrbX sceneries by any chance? Tempted to take the hit and buy all the US West ones for it. Will likely get a lot of use out of them the next three or four months before FS2020 is in a better place 🙂

Does anybody know if the transpondor works online yet? I bought this plane purely for VFR/IFR flight on PE but without a working transponder you can't visit any of the most interest airports.

I'm with you - sim is on the backburner for a few months to see if things improve. My hope is that three months down the line the issues will largely have been ironed out, and there will be some (moderately, not expecting PMDG level) complex payware aircraft available. Plenty of other sims to use in the meantime.

This is good to know. I like the plane a lot for VFR flights, but without a working transponder I can't use it on PilotEdge which is frustrating. I hope they fix this soon.

I emailed them about the transponder not working on PilotEdge and Vatsim and they confirmed it'll be fixed in the next update. No date given unfortunately. Can third party addons be updated outside of updates to the base sim?

Absolutely. If you play on the pure multiplayer server there's 0 management. you can join a Virtual Airline if you want, and they can set up jobs for your, lease you planes (for free) etc etc. But ultimately there's no management at all. Pick a cargo route / passenger route, load it up, load the fuel and fly 🙂

I've been using onair a lot and it really is fantastic. I'm not particularly interested in the management aspects so I play on the Thunder server (no AI), and really love it. Fantastic discord community too.
