Gents, RAAS for P3D V4 has been released and is now available for sale on the FS2Crew website! In our opinion, 64 bit flight simming is the future of flight simulation owing to the many, many benefits it offers. We therefore encourage our users to upgrade to P3D V4. FSX has had its day. It's time to move forward. P3D V4 requires a new purchase, but we are offering 5 euros off to previous RAAS customers. Use coupon code: RAAS64 on the checkout page. Some of you will probably ask why we cannot give out the P3D V4 version for free. Its a fair question. The long and short answer is that that 64 bit version requires maintaining new code and new files. Converting complex code like RAAS to 64 bits is a lot more complex than just flipping a switch I'm afraid. You cannot use 32 bit code in a 64 bit app (so -very important!- if you own RAAS for FSX or an earlier version of P3D, do not try to install it into P3D V4. It won't work and it will cause problems with P3D V4.) Moreover, the previous version of RAAS supported, for free, FS9, Microsoft FSX, Steam FSX, Side by Side MS FSX and Steam FSX and Prepar 3D V1, V2 and V3. Maintaining all these different versions is expensive and becoming very time consuming. Some other FS developers are on the verge of throwing in the towel due to the massive complexity of trying to support numerous different platforms, but FS2Crew will be soldiering forward. Usually, this switch is supposed to disable RAAS. If RAAS is not installed as a customer option, does this switch do anything alternatively? Or should it not even be installed in the aircraft? Thanks.

Hello all, I couldn't find this in the manual but if RAAS is not selected (not installed) as a customer option on the 777, what does the GND PROX RUNWAY OVRD switch do on the overhead panel? Is it more of an inop switch at that point? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had recommendations as to which RAAS settings were unrealistic to have enabled for say airline operations(average airline RAAS settings, if you get what I mean) or if I could download profiles for different airplanes that other users have created. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. So far I'm enjoying the product.

Could someone help or point me to the manual of how to set up the ragas system. I have the option selected but hear nothing. Yes I have make runways as it is required for a few of my addons.

Folks, I may be quite interested in this product, but i'm not sure. I hear people's FPS have varied, some say its better than the NGX, others say its worse. Does it still come with the RAAS system? Am I right in saying it comes with RW ATC chatter in the background? Are there any major bugs? Really, I just want to get familiar with an A320, it's a new challenge and something new to learn.... As someone who is waiting for the PMDG 777, and will no doubt only really fly that when it's released, IS IT WORTH THE COST?? Thanks, hope some of you guys can help, if you need me to be clearer on some of these points, say, and i'll explain them more! Thanks! -Andy

Hi, trying to understand why RAAS in PMDG777 not working. I only have the RAAS that came with PMDG777. there is a RAASPro folder in my FSX program folder that presumably was installed with the PMDG777 and inside these folders is a dll.xml file which seems to contain code to load a RAAS module. My fsx.cfg file contains no reference to RAAS - only to the 777 as follows: " F:\fsx\GAUGES\PMDG_777X.DLL.clkoanwecheuccchbtaankcweoczielozorzqoot=2 F:\fsx\GAUGES\PMDG_777X_3.DLL.lbniobqietubhczkqioocklquolkanbbblruqeqr=2 " some ideas: 1). is it necessary to run the makerunways utility after installing PMDG777 ? 2). I don't have a dll.xml file in my FSX user folder - do i need this ? everything else in PMDG777 works just fine!

For all you new posters out there who want to find some information about the PMDG 777X Base package! -It will not have an EFB -It will not have a 2D Cockpit- -It will not have a Weather radar ( WX Radar) -It will not have a taxi cam -It will have RAAS included. Hopefully this will clear a lot of stuff up, and answer the many questions that are asked daily on these forums. Note to the Moderators and PMDG Staff: This thread is not intended to be mean, or angry hate to those who post these repeating questions. It is merely a thread which explains the FAQs. If this was the wrong thing to do, please lock/Delete this thread and notify me! I apologize in advance if it was the wrong thing to do, I intended to be helpful is all.
